    Thanks for the video and great rig! I have an ‘04, and I’m about to buy the same lift kit-your video was the confirmation I needed. I’ll keep an eye out for you next time you come to Virginia. We enjoy Flag Pole Knob and Peter Mills Run. God Bless!

      @BigTreeLander  День назад +1

      Do it! The lift is great it does ride very nicely on the road and I haven't had a single problem off-road! And I did do Peter's mill in June and I've ridden along on flagpole, it's still on the bucket list for me in my own rig now!

    I have an 05. With the 2 in lift I did I had the same issue rubbing. Did what you did and problem solved.
    I am a stereo installer. They used the wrong input on your speakers. They need to bypass the oem amps. There are 2. Or connect the appropriate wires from the mid and low driver and you can get a much better sound. That sucks They did you dirty like that.

    Gen 1 Sequoia (and Tundras) are hidden gems of the Toyota family. Although a lot less hidden than they used to be! Great choice. Id suggest you replace those LED headlights with mini projectors, HUGE difference. LEDs in stock housings are terrible for light scatter.

    • @BigTreeLander
      @BigTreeLander  29 дней назад

      @@JHBtheIV I've heard that, but these don't seem to be TOO bad the worst part of these is the side to side adjustment on the passenger side is a little broken and doesn't like to work so it throws light just a bit too far to the right. I'll be looking at the projectors eventually, just have to make sure they aren't garbage😂

    • @BigTreeLander
      @BigTreeLander  29 дней назад +1

      Also I love your flatbed!

    • @JHBtheIV
      @JHBtheIV 29 дней назад

      @@BigTreeLander Appreciate that! I thought the standard LED bulbs were okay too, until I installed the mini projectors to compare them, and I realized how terrible light output actually was with the standard LED bulbs. The reflectors in the stock housing just aren't designed to properly gather and direct LED light. Bypassing the housing by using bulbs with their own collectors, really is a night and day difference. Cheers mate!

    Maybe the offset or backspacing makes it rub. Clean build!

    • @BigTreeLander
      @BigTreeLander  2 месяца назад +3

      Thank you! The wheels are -12 offset (not sure of the backspacing). I know with a 0 offset you start running into issues with rubbing on the upper control arm, so I went with -12 to prevent it. The rubbing is just a Toyota thing I guess 😂

    Very glad I found this channel. Keep the build updates coming. I have a 2007 that I have built eerily similar to yours. And I’ve been looking at those exact wheels for mine. Good to hear they are running well for you and good to see what they look like installed. Keep those updates coming. Love that Maryland tag too. Born in Silver Spring.

A small new video will be out within the next few days, I'm always trying to add stuff but I have to do a lot of research before purchasing to make sure I'm not getting something I won't like. The wheels are awesome they have been great for fitting larger tires on. Good luck with your build!

  • @bvids5580

    Nice rig! Question, have you or anyone you know had experience with a sequoia having lower ball joint issues? The design creates a situation where a worn out lower ball joint can separate the lower control arm. Wheel flops under the rig in most cases. Fix, i guess, is to proactively replace LBJ’s with fresh OEM. Just wondering if it’s prevalent for most Sequoia owners, or pretty rare

    • @BigTreeLander
      @BigTreeLander  11 дней назад +1

      @@bvids5580 I'm told by everyone it's not an "if" it's a "when" when it comes to your LBJ's failing. And to always use OEM. Now frequency I'm not 100% sure on.
