    Hey man, I gotta give you props for sharing a video where it doesn't pan out, so many content creators make it seem like everything is perfect, and nothing ever goes wrong! bad ass, keep making the videos. I also like the format. Just the content and a narrator is nice.

      You're so right a lot of the channels are all rainbows & butterflies lol. You can be as prepared as possible but sometimes the world has something different in store for you. It's part of the fun of 4wheeling if you ask me! The comradery in this sport is unmatched. Thanks for commenting 🤙

    Hey Bro! I'm rockin' a Gen 1 and I think this channel is by far the best! Not ever been a truck dude. Whole life into things that sit low and go around corners.
    About the past substance abuse and getting to where you are now, I'm happy for you! You are doing awesome shit, your building awesome shit, and you have an adorable family. It's extremely difficult to get out of it. I lost a brother to that life in '17. I'm happy for every person that makes it out of that place.

      Is that how it came off? I've spent a lot of time praying on it and still feel gratitude when I think about it. I'm definitely aware that had they not been there it would have been an entirely different outcome. Like maybe leave my vehicle there until the snow melted

    Man, that's good times right there. The "Rubicon hands" cracked me up. Wore d@mn flip flops on that trail years ago and had rubicon feet that no soap could solve in the first few scrubbings. Pretty funny. Great video.

    Awesome work, I do a lot of snow wheeling in PNW, Going from 15 to 5-8 psi in that stuff will make a huge difference, not a huge concern generally unless you get up to speed and make some sharp turns.
    Can't wait to see more!

      Without the beadlocks, burping air was always my biggest issue. Hard turns at speed will definitely peel som beads lol

      You can do 8psi all day long. No worries. In that snow, I’d be 8 or 6. Drive like a tank.

    I like this types of videos, those guys really saved your ass, the kind of guys I like to wheel with. When my rig was on factory 3.73 gears the gas pedal was very sensitive now on 5.38 it's much easier. I absolutely love that place but you are one brave guy for going right before the snow season while expecting bad weather.

      That's weird I went from 4.10s to 5.29s and that's when the pedal got sensitive.

      Big switch to IFS but man they're great trucks. Also a bit larger than a Cherokee but not too big for the majority of trails

    Solid fun adventure right there, i live in south lake and we were skiing by then! Good trucks and stories.
    Excited to see that jd fab kit, i have a '86 4Runer with a TDI swap, on a gen2 chassis and blaze land 3"+ kit w/2.5fox. Would love a beefer suspension and a cage.

      Yeah Michael was checking into the Blazeland kit but it seems they went defunct a while back. Very cool idea though I'm surprised nobody else is doing it

      @@treehouseoffroad it's decent for a WIY cheapo kit, i bought one of the first. These 1, 2gen ifs chassis need a complete redesign of the front suspension to properly be bulletproof. The coilover and lower ball joint just don't mix. I'd love to design a 4"+ over 4WD kit for these chassis's

    You guys got lucky. I’ve met IFS Toyotas that are completely stranded on the Rubicon and Dusy, and because of time constraints only being able to help for a little bit.
    I have 5 various 1st gen Toyota’s, but my crawler is a Jeep based Buggy on Won Tons and 43’s.

    Something to be said for solid axles .. I had the same problem with my 03 Sequoia. Transfer case actuators are prone to go bad. A few have swapped them out for the FJ cruiser transfer case.

      Yes actuators are definitely problematic. I myself did the FJ Case swap instead of fixing my electronic unit

      I get the music from Soundstripe, it's a subscription and they have beats, sound fx, etc. It sounds like he just rapped over the same beat.

    Nice trip, I’ve done rubicon trail for 6 times in my 3rd gen 4Runner fun trail, what locker do you have in the rear looking for one for my 06 sequoia

      Yeah that little voice is usually pretty spot on. I got myself into some serious jams over the years ignoring it lol.
      In this video I was running bolt-on rock sliders by Rocky Road outfitters, I did a whole video on them. I'm still running them but now they're permanently welded to the frame, video coming soon

    Hey man, great video. I have a 2002 Toyota seqouia and I have the same thing where the pedal is just really light, the torque is really high so when it comes to rain and especially snow, it’s very jerky and almost unwieldy 😂, that 270hp feel like a lot more

      Yeah I've heard the pedal commander is great for this specific scenario but I haven't wanted to shell out 300 bucks for it

    What part do you have to fix the blown cv? Always afraid that mine would blow on a trail and don’t wanna bring spare cvs.

      It's just the inner and outer joints, so it doesn't fix the CV. It allows you to get home without losing all the oil from your diff and/or your front wheel flying off. If my vehicle used stock length CV axles I would just carry a spare.

    With that pedal acceleration issue, you might want to try. Maybe the pedal commander or something like that. I ordered one but sent it back after I got my bigger gears. I had the power I wanted but I have noticed mine. Does the same thing yours does. It's annoying, especially when you're in a critical spot. I'm not sure if that would work but now that I think about it it may. If you set it for economy mode. Not sport or anything like that. You can accelerate. Your throttle response time or. Decelerated with the pedal commander or a device similar.

      Rubicon Trail in California. They are both great vehicle's with awesome engines. If you need more cargo space go for the Sequoia, if not the GX has a stronger front diff and more aftermarket support. Thanks for commenting!

    Hello Looks like hardcore contains! I noticed your dash light with the engine light, ABS, Trac…. Lights stuck on. I am having the same issue and have searched for vacuum leaks fuel filter… even my tire pressure sensor sets them off. Have you looked into what cause is with yours

      Hi there I know why mine are on. I disabled VSC, TRAC and ABS. I'm so used to the dash lights they don't bother me anymore

    Lockers will help, and you should bump it up in tires size, too, cause snow is not a joke

      Thanks yeah I had my rear locker on but like you said, tire size. I'm bumping up to 37s soon. I also should've ran a lower PSI

      Yes and no. We thought there would be more bypasses than there were. But there was quite a bit of snow on the ground so maybe we just didn't see some of them. All in all it's pretty hardcore for such a large heavy vehicle

    Hey dude, not sure if the 5 speed has this option, but on my 4 speed 01 tree if I'm in 4L, I can lock it in 2nd gear just like you can lock in 1st with the shifter on 2nd. This can help with throttle control if you don't want it as super sensitive as 1st gear

      Hey yeah we have that too but it still has to run through 1st before hitting 2nd. I just have to learn to use brake/gas at the same time I think

      @@treehouseoffroad oh no I mean it actually locks in in 2nd gear, like as if you were starting in 2nd gear in a manual car. I can feel the transmission lock in 2nd gear. Try it out. It does that on my 4 speed. But I think that feature only works in 4WD Low and center diff locked.

      @@treehouseoffroad yeah I thought the same thing initially but I like it because it gives you an alternative crawl ratio and like you were speaking of at first, mine doesn't feel as sensitive or jumpy in 2nd gear like it is in 1st gear. Especially since I upgraded my axle ratio it's more torquey in 1st gear than before, so 2nd gear helps with that.

    I've had the same past experiences you had with drug abuse and criminal activities. That was years ago. I finally figured it out. This was after my military service... I was homeless 6 years ago. Add nothing Now I have a $50000 rig. 100% service-connected VA with extra monthly income. I've always had pieces of crap lived couched couch. Never thought I would finally get this Huge Life-changing break. But anyway, those trails look Amazing.

      @@treehouseoffroad i am currently on my 3rd pair. 1st pair broke bcuz no gusset. 2nd pair strapped with gusset but for some reason it cracked horizontally at that upper ball joint ring.....3rd/current set is holding on real good, but now i recently broke my steering rack & pinion mount that sits under the passenger side....this weekends project to prep & weld(frame seems pretty thin in that area)

    I know this has been asked before..I'm sure...and you are probably tired of answering so...just refer me to the propper video please..lol what is the offset of your wheels?Are you running spacers?I really like you setup.Mine looks almost identical...in my head lol..my goal with my build for sure.I want to run the same steel wheels and 33s to 35s.I understand the suspension part of the set up and have watched your fab up...I plan on a similar build in the future and would LOVE some direction on all of the measurements and degrees/specs...mostly though.Wheels?offset/backspace?spacer/no spacer?(I don't like spacers)Happy wheeling!!T.i.a.for any help.

    Jokes aside, awesome they helped you out. Bummer about the acuator. Just went through that this past summer on my rig, totally fixable without removing the shaft from the transfer case in most cases. Yours looks like it got knackered pretty good though, but hopefully the shafts not bent and you can just throw a new acuator case on it. Ive been lookin into making a skid plate to protect mine in the future.

      Definitely not wheeling unless your breaking stuff... let's call it R&D. I'm assuming you have an 01-04 bc those actuators have a single shaft and can be swapped easily. The 05-07 have dual shafts with c-clips that are only accessible from inside, so the only way is to remove and split the case 😢

      Just replace them with Toyota brand joints every 50k and you should be fine. They'll go longer if you're not hard on them but they're not expensive so why risk it.

    I think it would be awesome if you added a triple bypass shock to your front suspension and run duel shocks.. I'm getting ready to do it. But I have a total chaos, lower control, arm, and upper. It's already got the mail on the lower before a bypass shock. And I'm going to relocate my rear shocks to the outside. Run a 2 inch spacer, so it will fit. And change my. 2.5 king shocks out with triple bypass king shocks. I have a 05 limited Sequoia. Same coastal offer road bumpers. And rock sliders That you have. 35 by 12.5 by 17. Nitto Ridge Grapplers on method beadlock wheels front and rear Eton lockers 4.88 gears metal tech rear lower control arms. Of course, I won't break the bank build. You went budget build but Yours is the only build that I can find online that closely resembles mine.

      I'm at 43k rite now on my build I'm also thinking about putting a LS motor in it😮 at least 350hp or more I have been quoted 45k Labor included. My goal is to make the sickest first generation Sequoia. Right now, Arizona Sequoia group and people all over Arizona. He's have looked and no one can find one night for the mind yet You're the only one that comes close

      Thanks for your comments, Wow sounds like an insane truck man! At this point I don't really need bypasses, as I ride mostly trails. Also my money is going other places at the moment. I just acquired a 10.5" Tundra rear axle and a 9" Tundra/LC200 front diff that I'm installing as we speak. I've had nothing but problems with my 7.5" front diff since I've owned the truck. Haven't had any problems with the 8" rear but I really want to be able to romp on this thing. I'm also gonna do the external shocks in the rear. 17" Raceline beadlocks and 38-in tires, not sure which ones yet. It's gonna be EPIC!
      I'd Love to come out to Arizona and wheel sometime. I'll make it happen

    Nicole from total chaos told me that with the sequoia and the way I have it Set up which Is the same that you have That it should have dual shops in the front. Triple bypass behind your Coil over.. That front is. The front is kind of heavy. I was going to go with hydraulic bump stops But they told me To run dual shots and leave the permanent. Bumpstop there But what I'm going to do is do the dual shocks and the hydraulic. Bump stop by king. More for esthetics, LOL.

      Now that I'm on the right side of the law I have a much different perspective of law enforcement. I've had my experience with crooked cops but 95% of the time I was the problem

    I also have a long travel sequoia. Id rather watch jeep videos with no music. One thing people do when content creating… they do too much. Music plus your voice over is 🤢… on top of the advertising as well… too much going on bud. Good luck
