I'm surprised Aching Blood didn't get an honourable mention, or even get put alongside his daughter Ophelia's Bibliophile skill. It adds +10% crit rate when the time has been given a name 12 or more characters long. It gave me an incentive to name weapons, something I normally don't do, and really fit with Odin's character.
and it's so easy to activate too
If u name a killing edge and make Odin a sword master he gets Insane crit rate
+Benjamin Shaul or get him into an Axe wielding class and give me a named Great Club.
+Daniel Myhre I prefer sword master because he can become one right after u recut him instead of getting supports

Effie's personal skill is something you never really notice, but it's actually really helpful and is the reason why she's able to one shot those pesky archers and maids in Conquest.
ohh I notice. it's the diffrence between dealing adding 4 and 8 damage and it's going to activate ALL the time.

Definition of whore is someone that has a lot of sex with many people. Corrin can only have one spouse per file and at most he is going to have 2 children. The amount of Children doesn't have an accurate amount of

Best thing about Blood Thirst: it stacks.
So here's a nice setup. Give her an ebony wing so that she becomes a dark flier and learn Galeforce.
Also, have her learn Replicate.
Then Have Azura sing for one of the copies.
Then you have a whooping +16 bonus in strength speed and skill during enemy phase.
You don't fuck with Peri.
It doesn't stack sadly as if you look at her stats after bloodthirst has activated, it says 'Rally Strength, Magic, Etc', effectively meaning it is a Rally just for Peru. Because Rally Strength cannot stack with a second Rally Strength (but it will stack with rally spectrum), Peru cannot get more than +4 to those 4 stats.
The symbol will show it activating but it won't actually increase the stats again after the first kill.

My favorite is Icy Blood, simply because I believe counter moves to be OP.
Of course, only Flora can get it, but we have Bond Units for a reason.
I always found Peri's personal skill to be completely useless. It doesn't stack with rallies, requires her to be an enemy phase unit to make much use of it without making use of dancing or galeforce or replicate, and she has to already be good enough to kill an enemy to even make use of it, so needless to say the boost is often redundant.

Yeah it is obvious you haven't used Galeforce on her. Galeforce Peri literally soloes maps on Lunatic. Its a stupidly good skill.

Are you joking, Josep? Have you ever tried making him a rally bot? He can learn rally strength, rally skill, and then either speed, defense, magic or resistance from one of his potential wives. And then you can give him replicate so that he can give these insane rally boosts to TWO GROUPS AT ONCE.

A personal skill that I like that you didn't mention is Renia's... everytime she kills some one... health boost, Her and Peri really like murder huh!
man you combine Elise;s #1 skill with the #10 skill from last week and standing next to Elise makes it so you don't take a shred of damage.
Gazak has such a beautiful face, easily the greatest beauty in all of Nohr

I feel like if Brady were in this game, he would have a Personal Skill like this:
Frustration: Allows use of the Whack Command.
Whack: Uses any currently equipped magic weapon for a physical attack. The Mt, Hit, Crit, Avo, and Dgd for the weapons are all the same. If using a staff, the Ht is 100 and the Mt is 0. The exception is Bifrost, with 10 Mt, 100 Ht, and 20 Crit
Im disapointed to not see Evasive Partner , by far the strongest personal skill in the game , Great Knight Jakob + Corrin duo makes corrin God in the battlefield .
Also something about kagero ... in birthright you never fight any ninja actually from the point you get kagero ( but a lot of Maid , which are completely irrevelant ) , in Revelation her passiv can be used but that's only in like 5 map .
Other than this two things , it is a pretty good top 10 !
Other good skills [Personally the skills which increase/decrease damage by 1-3 aren't very important to me]:
Miraculous Save isn't a reliable skill, but when it activates it literally saves lives. Once prevented Camilla from dying to an archer.
Evasive Partner is pretty good if Jakob is your husbando.
Fearsome Blow is nearly Savage Blow.
Perfectionist gives free evade.
Optimistic/Calm is great when luring enemies [Which is important in the game]
Prodigy is good for Caeldori because she doesn't have the highest strength/magic.
Fancy Footwork is a cheap rally, but good if you stack it with other rally skills.
Icy Blood works as a counter and seal skill provided Flora's HP is not full [Which isn't that hard to activate].

Flora's personal skill, Icy Blood, is very overpowered. "When Flora is attacked by a nonadjacent enemy and doesn't have full HP, the enemy receives half the damage dealt to her and their Skill and Speed is reduced by 3. The skill will not activate if Flora is defeated by the attack." So basically, it's a nonadjacent version of Counter that also debuffs enemies. Only problem is that Flora has shit defenses in all of her classes, except maybe Dark Knight. If only someone could get Counter on Flora in a My Castle, which I have yet to find.
Amazing video and an amazing topic! Personal skills were amazing! Making each character slightly unique was a great idea as opposed to them being the exact same gameplay wise other than stats.

Shinon would probably have Provoke as his personal skill. He's pretty good at provoking others.
For Shinon's personal skill, I would call it "Provocation", in which, after combat, all units within a 2 tile radius would take 10% of their CURRENT HP as damage

If past games had personal skills, Illyana would have HUNGRY! : recovers 10% of health every time she defeats a foe (probably eats their boots or something) or is around 3 adjacent allies (asks them for food) and loses 5% of health when no allies are adjacent.
Haar: falls asleep for 4 turns when no one is within 3 spaces.

In my first playthrough of Birthright, I had Takumi and Ryoma paired up.
Fun was had.
I have to agree with the number 1. Pairing Elise with Benny after Rallying basically makes him indestructible when it comes to tanking (if he has Wary Fighter, obviously. Getting doubled by Mages or Armorslayers/Hammers is a bad time). I was able to just rush him on Conquest's last chapter, where all the enemies dogpiled, got hit back (forged Javelins are REALLY good on Benny) and the rest of my army just mopped up.
As for Camilla, I'm assuming the real value from her personal skill comes into play on higher difficulties when initiating in a horde of enemies, as you: 1. Damage them, 2. Applying Savage Blow and then buffing whatever unit you use to finish them off. On lower difficulties, you don't get to see Camilla's skill all that much, since she practically destroys everything she touches.

Two things. First, it's spelt "poise". Second, what about Miraculous Save?
Miraculous save is shit, why would havr your plan be around unreliable small chance to not die with a specific pair Up partner when you can get a better partner that will actually help you survive or use kaze himself instead of using him as a backpack for a shit skill
Has anyone else noticed that Kana has just been sitting on the side of these intros, I can just imagine him/her thinking "I'm just Corrin, but I'm a better character, notice me plz.".....Also Azura's song is a deus ex machina in Conquest more than in Birthright
You got very good choices. I fully agree with them, except... Ryoma and Takumi can get much better use of their skills simply by combining them with Replicate. They also work with a same level partner, something the Replicate unit will guarantee. I call the formations of double Takumi/Ryoma "nukes". Guess why.
Also Silas skill. Very useful if the Avatar is paired up with him, and you switch them if the Avatar's health goes down too much. The result, between both caracthers' personal skills stacking with each other and adding the Cavalier skill Defender, is a completely invincible tank that will keep Corrin safe until you heal it.
Addendum to Healing Descant: It also stacks with Amaterasu if you spend the time (or G) to snag that, effectively healing anyone in a 2 square radius as if they have Renewal
Bruh HOW are any of the listed skills beside Biblophile and maybe Bloodthirst better than Bushido or Competitive?
You know that they also work if the support unit is the same level, right?
And to be honest, Ryoma DOES need a support unit so he doesn't get bonked by dual attacks. And really, with Takumi, you just gotta be a good FE player and spread around the EXP you get among your units instead of relying on two units to carry you through the game. Not that you really need that in Birthright or Revelation anyway.
The only downside to Bushido and Competitive is that by using them, you won't be able to activate Galeforce. But really, +10 Crit AND +2/-2 or +3/-1 damage/damage taken is actually broken.
Lucky Charm is also broken with Miracle and Profiteer. Ever heard of the unkillable Midori?
I feel like you should make a distinction between the Top 10 in the chapters and the Top 10 for competitive/Castle battles, and even then Bushido and Competitive should be near the top in both categories simply because of how ridiculously broken they are.
Especially for Rose's Thorns and Lily's Poise, they're only useful because most of Conquest's early-to-mid-game is based around abusing these skills to get the math right. I don't get how a +1/-3 or +3/-1 damage/damage taken is superior to even Supportive, which gives +2/-2 AND +10 Hit with the only restriction of the C support, and support instead of simple adjacency.
Honestly, i think that even Quiet Strength or Rallying Cry are better than those two skills, because although they have weaker effects, they have much greater range, allowing the units to stay away from tomes or especially bows range. Plus, in competitive, they give their boost while giving space for a Galeforce unit to pick up their kill and go again, while if a Galeforce unit is supported by a unit with Rose's Thorns or Lily's Poise, they immediately go in attack stance and as such don't get to move again.
Its because you can only have one of each aura active and they are auras you can't get other places, different auras stack just fine. Camilla has easy access to Malefic aura and Elise has easy Demoiselle and Inspiration. If you're on defense they are really powerful.

I'm surprised there aren't personal skills that:
a) give a boost to damage dealt when you have the weapon disadvantage (Great Rage)
or b) give a boost to damage dealt against opponents that have previously defeated an ally (Silent Rage)
If I had my own personal skill, it would be called "Last Stand", the icon would be the person form Corrin's Supportive Skill, but instead of a yellow light, there would be blue flames. It would give +10 to Attack,Hit,Crit,Avo, and would raise Def and Res by 5 when under 20% HP.
Another Personal Skill, Change Shift. If weapon triangle advantage, Damage +5, but if weapon triangle disadvantage, Damage Taken -5.
now that I think about it, there should be one that would negate the weapon triangle for its wielder and any enemy it fights. It's not broken since neither side could have the advantage or disadvantage. "Equal Ground" I suppose, and would probably be my personal skill.
here is one for my character: make an example. debuffs the strength of nearby enemies whenever he gets a kill
the reason why he has that skill is because like reina, my character is chivalrous to allies, but merciless to enemies (though out of necessity rather than pleasure). it can help him and others block a choke point and greatly complements his massive defense stat. it will be useless against mages, but that is because he a living reference to runescape, where warriors are strong against archers, but weak against mages (in older versions of the game, metal armor would actually make you MORE susceptible to magic)
Here's mine: Battle Mage: When using a tome or magic weapon in melee, unit gains +10 to hit and avoid, and +2 attack and defense.
evasive, and supportivel partner are my personal favorites (more so to evasive partner) since you get jacob or felicia right off the bat so you can give corrin good boosts and the boosts can be super helpful
I called it from the beginning that Lily's poise was going to be the number 1 choice. The amount of times Elise has saved one of my characters because of that amazing ability is astounding.

The thing with Ophelia's personal skill is that you're pretty much stuck keeping her a magic unit if you want it to be useful. I married Odin to Kagero in my most recent Revelation file and I so badly want a swordmaster!Ophelia, but that means she has to carry around magic she can't use if I want to get any use of her skill.
I've had some use for Kaden's personal skill. If I don't have a healer with Live to Serve, healing Kaden has a similar effect.
Personally, I prefer Hinoka and Sakura's personal skills to Camilla and Elise's. The Hoshidan auras just seem more versatile to me, since units don't have to be right next to the sisters to be affected. Not to mention, you gotta be able to tank dem ranged attacks.
In extremis (Scarlet's personal skill) is probably my favorite just cause of being able to stack on critical bonuses, and it's part of the reason I made her a Great Lord for Awakening.
I personally like Mozu's Forager skill. 20% HP recovery at the beginning of the turn when on Field, Forest, Mountain, or Wasteland terrain? Sign Me UP! This is especially good on Mozu, specifically, due to her being a case of "Magikarp Power", and as such, you'd most likely have her stationed in a forest or similar terrain when training her to buff her Defense and Avoid rate.
Where charlotte at though?
Chivalry and Pragmatic. Chivalry lets Xander do more damage and receive less if the opponent he's fighting has full HP; this makes Xander ideal for the front lines as he'll greatly damage or, in some cases, kill enemy units (he still doesn't like going up against Magic, so beware). Pragmatic lets Leo do more damage and receive less if he's fighting someone whose HP is less than full; this makes him ideal for picking off weakened units, made easy by moving and attacking adjacent enemies to take advantage of Heartseeker.
dont know why but I always enjoyed draconic heir, kana's personal skill. I find it hilarious to get 5 defensive skills and equip her(or him) with a dragonstone and just never die. no matter how many enemies there are.
No mention of Gunter's skill that is basically free damage, defense, and evasion for the Avatar.
Poor Sakura. She was one of my favourite healers in the game along with Jacob and Elise. I always level up my healers in battle as much as I can, because those guys can actually hold their own. Even Sakura who was a handy with a bow and could dodge 90% of what the enemy could throw at her.
I found myself using Kidnap and capture on very rare occasions.
I managed to kidnap Haitaka (chapter 9 boss of Conquest) and he turned out to be really awesome to use for chapter 10 for rally defense.
Capture though, I used to catch unique boss enemies and a knight. my knight is THE tankiest thing on my team. he's my unsung MVP of Birthright. cause RNG is BS and only Azama can take a physical hit worth a damn. Rinkah didn't count because I always feared she would die to crit.
With Bibliophile's case, I use Mjolnir because it has a much higher chance of critical, and it does x4 damage on criticals.
I love perfectionist(subaki). a+ rank niles for lucky seven, duelist blow via swordmaster (which is the class i gave him) and sol to keep him at max health (required for perfectionist). This guy can give the opponet a 0 percent hit ratio. Oh, did i mention he does not take the recoil of life and death skill because he is a dodge pro? +10 damage for me!

I think Rhajat's Vengeance should be on here, 4 more damage on enemies you've fought before is pretty good, especially if paired with Seal Resistance, together that means you deal +10 damage after the first fight with anyone.

I forgot you did a Great Knight Peri, she's amazing as one, but give her Aegis and maybe Pavise, with Luna, she will be as beastly as an Effie x Benny Ignatius set
Love Midori's personal skill. with profiteer and her insane luck stat. I more often than not get a gold bar every turn for the first 7
Kana's personal skill is pretty good healing her by a little bit if holding a dragonstone which I found useful.

if you have kana who mother/father is a mostly magic user and you gonna have kana be a dragon all the time. it's useful but once you decide to use swords or another class it's useless.
The only personal skills I can remember are the damn good ones like Inigo's, Charlotte's, and Aqua's, the ones that just make you ask "why?" like Severa's, Kaden's, and Setsuna's, and the downright horrible ones like Izanna's, Arthur's, and L's
Zero Ace Severa's is amazing though.
No, a single critics more often than not enough to kill an enemy, a second crit is plain overkill
Zero Ace Well, characters who reliably crit a lot usually have low damage as compensation. So one crit on a unit with lots of crits, is most of the time not gonna be a kill. A second crit after it by Severa, will secure that.
I have the same problem with weapons, I always that one weapon that I have just in case of specific situations that never seem to come up. Anyways, I have to admit I always prefer the skills that have active abilities over passive, small increases, so I tend to overlook the personal skills, I mean I get it on a technical level how good some of these abilities are, but I'll always prefer things like Keaton's item grabs because it's more tangible and noticeable.
I'm kinda shocked at the lack of Aching Blood and Unmask, not even in the honourable mentions. And also Shuriken Mastery being on the list at all. Seriously, after playing Birthright and Revelation that skill skill activated ONCE for me 😂

My favorite personal skill is midoris four leaf clover personal cuz I normally make her into a merchant so she easily can proc profiteer and get me gold bars hell from just constantly using her throughout my birthright playthrough I at one point had saved up 20 gold bars which I then sold cuz I need the money

Corrin is a Mary Sue. The problem with Corrin is that everyone seems to love him no matter what he does. Hell, even at the end of Birthright AND Conquest the surviving enemy royals forgive him, despite he was directly behind the deaths of more than half of their families, breaking their nations, killing countless soldiers and so on. SOME negative response at the end of the story would be nice other than "all is well and forgiven" Not to mention how many characters are unnecarily obsessed with him/her. (Kaze, Silas, Rhajat, Camilla, Hinoka, Sakura, Ryoma, Elise, Mikoto, Azura, Lillith, Jakob, Felicia and so on)

Surprised you didn't mention how Ryoma and Takumi's personal skills can be broken with replicate gained from wife or friend. I do that all the time.
Now that I saw this video it have better tactics for my waifu tactic that kinda includes Soleil and feCorrin, seriously with cumulated boosts with only the 2 of them we already have -4 damage taken +4 damage dealt and hit rate +10, what do you think will happen if we add rallies and other personal skills

As much as you make fun of him, I actually find Corrin to be one of my favourite lords in the series. 7's trio are uninteresting, 8's are even less interesting, I haven't played 9 or 10, and Shadow Dragon had very little depth to any of it's characters. Awakening's Lords are the only two who are above Corrin, as they are written much better. I still liked the naive yet intelligent character they gave Corrin, and I feel as if (in BR especially) he has enough development to keep him interesting. CQ also has his conflict between his personal morals, and his methods for his goal.
I agree with you entirely, although I do like Corrin bit more than Chrom and Robin but not by much.

Deathstar 699 In the games Ike was a badass, uncompromising, no nonsense,force of good.
@@joelsasmad That didn't have all the answer all the time so he relied heavily on his friends and had a blunt and honest personality that won allies to his cause. I'll never forget Lucia's recruitment conversation in PoR. She tries to introduce herself to Ike on the battlefield and Ike's response is something akin to "We're in the middle of a fight here! If you're here to help pick up a sword and get to killing. If not shut up and go away." Then he leaves the conversation and Lucia is dumbfounded for a second before she starts laughing at what just happened.

I wish peri was more of a mixed offence tank to take advantage of her personal skill. Not as much as I wish Kanna had better defensive growths to take advantage of draconic heir, though.

Why not Oden skill of +10 crit if a name is carved on a weapon I mean that's kind of the same thing as Ophelia's skillwhere are you have to buy multiple weapons for the skill to be used

Crashfan97879 she gets alot of xp by singing plus you can give her a forged bronze lance to kill sword units

Tbh kagero's skill should of been lower because although it looks useful, it doesn't really work on birthright nor revelations as there really near non existence ninjas or any skuriken using enemies compared to conquest but kagero isn't playable on conquest.
while it is a useful skill but it hardly gets a use and it would of been better on sazio as he's more of a defensive ninja

Crash, im planing to play the games before Awakening, what do You reccommend me? Sacred Stones or Blazing Sword?
If you can get both, then get both because their both fantastic, but personally i'd go for blazing sword because it's the better of the two and is (along with path of radiance) the most focused, well thought out, and balanced game in the series.
