If they decide to bring back child units in the next game, I think they should make it so that you play as them in a separate campaign. Imagine you beat the game as their parents, then you have the option to carry over the data to a new story that takes place years after the first game, where you play as the child units that inherit skills, stats, classes, ect. from their parents. However, the gameplay would also be more difficult, similar to Conquest, so that you have to carefully plan what traits to pass on.
Is no one pointing out how Midori is basically Japanese Dora? her paralogue has her going to look for something while exploring in the forest and preventing the boss from swiping something of value

True. But honestly I hated Asugi's changed personality. Aside from his obvious love for candy, Gaius was still lovable because of how chill and laid back he was. I couldn't help but go "ayyyy it's the candy bro!" whenever he was on screen. Asugi and his rebellious teen attitude on the other hand made me go "Oh look it's that fuckboy who can't shut up about candy". But you know... that's just me.

However, I think Caeldori should've had Mercenary as her Heart Seal reclass and Rhajat with Dark Mage. Asugi could have Samurai if he doesn't already, given Gaius getting Myrmidon I believe. If they're gonna clone the characters they might as well go all the way.
I saw those three as "less experience" version of their Awakening counterparts. I mean, Asugi and Caeldori clearly look like they haven't seen real shit in their lives like Gaius or Cordelia have or their traumas. Rhajat IMO is ALMOST the same thing except that her obsession with the Avatar is less prominent than Tharja and since she's a child unit you tend to forget easily about it (at least I did).

Interesting personality, and in my Birthright and Conquest files, I made her a Princess via Hinoka and Camilla respectively. 9- Percy. Adorable justice child. Enough said.8- Rhajat. Unlike most, I actually prefer the Awakening Clones over the originals. That being said I like Rhajat the best though. And that pink hair from Sakura though.7- Ophelia. I like her personality, I really do. And she's a Princess on Conquest (via Elise) and the daughter of a kunoichi on Revelations (via Kagero)6- Hisame. Read his supports with Ophelia, Rhajat, Caeldori, and M!Avatar or F!Avatar. 5- Dwyer. He has some of the best deadpan humor in the game. 4- Kiragi. He's like a combination of Henry and Cynthia. I especially like his supports with his father.3- Forrest. He is one of the people in this game I half feel sorry for (considering what happens in his paralogue and offscreen in some of his supports, and half praise because of how kind and strong willed he is.2- Shigure. The crown is certainly a heavy burden, and I feel like Siegbert captures this even more than his father does, constantly fretting over if he's worthy to rule over Nohr, and his attempts to try to understand other cultures different from his own. I especially like his conversations with both avatars, (since it's the same for both genders apart from the fact that F!Avatar gets an S.)Caeldori, and Velouria.
In my experience Kana is one of the worse units in the game. The Yato is Corrin's strongest point and no matter who I marry Kana never really excels. Cute, but I definitely preferred Morgan. ..Also, Kiragi's personality was leagues better than Kana's (or maybe I just preferred his VA)
it wasn't IS intention, that the children wielding the weapons of the Parents anyway. if you want to see them wearing the yatos, brynhildr ect., buy the dlc and see the children fighting a different path of revelation
I made Kana to be a tank in birthright, in conquest a glass cannon, and a mixture of both in Revelations. Love how you're able to pull this off thanks to the multiple stories. Allows me to explore each avenue I can possibly take her in.

Great list Crash. My favorite child unit is Ignatius. I can actually relate to him in about 90% of his personality (just not the fear of bugs). I made mine into a berserker with wary fighter, aether, deathblow and a brave axe and paired him up with the Corrin and he cant be stopped.
I reclassed a Hinoka!Forrest to a Grandmaster and he literally wrecked so much face it was incredible. I find that most of the 'subpar' kids are great with proper reclassing though

Schrödinger's cat Sophie was pretty cool as well ^-^ I only ever use her on Birthright though. Forrest and Nina were without a doubt made for each other and their conversations were so cute and entertaining. I could happily enjoy a stand alone game starring just those two. Rhajat of course appeals to my love for the goth babe archetype. She was an awesome character to boot, not just hentai fodder.
Well the way they did it in Awakening and Fates could be considered dumb (I for one don't have a Problem with it since, well it's all Fiction anyway) But when it comes to Realism yeah not the right way to go about it I suppose... What they could do for next time (maybe?...) Instead of Time travel and time warping dimensions, they could well do a Time jump cut? For example all characters are aged around 20 to 40 or so then you are at chapter 20 where there will be a time of peace for 15 to 20 years or so and during that Time these Kids could normally grow up! You could even give the Parent characters certain handicaps or Bonuses, for example Character A got a wound on his leg during the 20th chapter, then his speed got a little reduced and Character B continued training during this Time of Peace and got Stronger because of it? Ofcourse these characters will need a makeover since well...... They got OLDERRRRRR!!! Well this is just an Idea, it all depends on Intelligent Systems what they'll do with the next Game!
Pretty much what they did back in the mid 90's in Japan with Genealogy of the Holy War. I do agree that they should do something similar there ( also if we get a third time travel thing it'd be redundant.)

If you really take a deep look at Kana, they are actually far more complex than they may seem. I actually really like Caeldori in one specific pairing (FE Fates Revelations, pairing Selena and Tsubaki). This has to be the canon pairing because it not only helps fill out Severa's personality and story but it makes the most sense in relational terms. Her Father is perfect and in this paring, her grandmother (and my Wife in Awakening) was as well. Severa/Serena still has an inferiority complex and now, even her daughter seems to be a genius, but you find out that Caeldori does not see it that way because she feels she takes after her mother most of all because the only reason she appears to be a genius is because she worked hard to be like her mother, who worked hard and didn't have everything come naturally to them, handed on a silver plate. It really reminds me of that episode of Naruto where Guy calls Lee a genius of hard work, only in reverse.
i like your opinion, but in my sight, there is no "canon pairing" in awakening and fates. for me, "canon" means, it "must" be like this and for multiple varity like fates and awakening, it's not fit at all. i like the pairing too, but i wouldn't call it "canon", more like one of my favourite pairing in fates. *thumbs up*
Not going to lie. I'm pretty much a half blind version of Seigbert. My father placed HUGE expectations on me from day one. Expecting me to continue his legacy until we found out due to my disease I couldn't join the army. But that doesn't mean jack to me when I can control a army with FIRE BREATHING DRAGONS IN IT!
I think the purpose for the clone characters was this: It would be a familiar face for those who played awakening but it wouldn't but be suspicions if you haven't. So in a way I think it was meant as a joke because if you rearrange the letters in the names of Asugi, Rhajat, and Caeldori you will get the Gaius Tharja and Cordelia

Both Cordelia and Gaius were units I usted all the time in Awakening. So I really hate there poor Ripp-off in Birthright. But I really like Serena, Odin and Laslow
I just came here to say if you marry Kaze and Corrin, and give Corrin an Oni Savage talent, Midori can get Profiteer AND Salvage Blow. Salvage blow can be abused in Siegberts chapter to farm up to 99 of each Hoshidan Iron equivalent weapon, depending on how you're able to handle the infinite reinforcements. Even just abusing 1 DC means 99 of a weapon, which can be forged to +6, or sold for 49500 gold, with a 50% chance of getting a weapon at max luck. So if you're in Birthright or Revelations, you can get a +6 Katana or Shuriken, or if in Conquest, you can sell it all for enough to make a +6 Bronze weapon
I've been waiting to see this one. Still haven't made much progress in Fates, partly because I wanted to know which kids were worth it. Judging by the thumbnail, your choices seem promising. I understand why you wanted to keep Caeldori, Asugi, and Rhajat away from this list; it is kind of dumb to just reuse the same characters in a series where the cast changes from entry to entry (unless the character is a focal point for the series, like maybe Bahamut in Final Fantasy). But as someone who puts more emphasis on how well the unit functions, I'm not gonna complain about another Sky Knight at least, especially if Caeldori turns out better than both her father and Hinoka. Diviners don't seem very good in Birthright, but my castle provides Amber to forge new scrolls, so maybe I'll let Rhajat rise, maybe I won't. Or maybe I'll just have Sakura fulfill my Onmyoji needs. Asugi seems like a fun character, but with his weird growths, I'm not sure what I want to do with him. Was thinking of taking advantage of his high magic to use the Flame Shuriken with Mama Orochi, but maybe Felicia would work better... As for your list, the only sketchy pick I see is number 4, but that's mainly because I can't stand her father (aka Mr-Holier-Than-Thou-Incarnate). Her laziness seems like a turn off, too, but maybe I could get past that if I read her supports a bit. Maybe. I am curious, BLAZINGKNIGHT, who were the mothers for these kids on your playthroughs? Well in terms of most recent playthroughs: in birthright I paired Kagero with ryoma, takumi with oboro, kaden with sakura, Mozu with subaki, kaze with myself (Female unit), Hinoko with Azama, Hana with Saizo, and Orchi with Hyatao. For conquest I did Female corrin with leo, Kaze with camilla, Peri with niles, Selena with Odin, Beruka with laslow, Effie with Benny, Charlotte with Xander, Mozu with arthur, Silas with elise, and jakob with Azura
BEST LIST my favorite children were on it, mitama, velouria, Forrest and Nina but I'm kinda sad you didn't mention mitama making an amazing physical unit in any class inherited by her mother and midori's miracle-vantage set

LittleMisZorua Siegbert and Caeldori are perfect for each other. I paired them up in Revelations (which is funny in my case because they both have red hair in my game XD) Kiragi and Selkie are also amazing too. They genuinely bond over hunting and they make a great pair.

In all honesty I kinda hope we get a Remake as the next Fire Emblem Game since I kinda want to experience a new Fire Emblem Game that's a remake of an old one more specifically Blazing Sword or Sword of Seals. I kinda want to experience those games with the new Fire Emblem Mechanics but with the ability to use Casual Mode since seriously I'm glad for that since after playing Radiant Dawn as my first Fire Emblem Game (God I still hate myself for making Radiant Dawn as my first FE game to introduce me to the franchise.) then Blazing Sword and Sacred Stones Perma Death can just go suck it as a mechanic to me. I know it's how a Fire Emblem Game should be played but I'd rather not get stressed out when I lose a unit in a chapter especially if it's a long one and I lose a unit at the end only to reset it from the beginning doing all the hard work all over again. Seriously that just isn't fun to me.

Honestly, i feel children are the new second seals in fates, with the right parents, they are absoulute monsters, with Velouria and Ophelia pretty much soloing Conquest end game for me.

i married leo to sakura and forrest was one of my greatest units. since he has a low defence as a strategist i made him a dark knight instead. give him the right tomes and he mows physical armoured units and any other units that had a low resistance.

Well the way they did it in Awakening and Fates could be considered dumb (I for one don't have a Problem with it since, well it's all Fiction anyway) But when it comes to Realism yeah not the right way to go about it I suppose...
What they could do for next time (maybe?...) Instead of Time travel and time warping dimensions, they could well do a Time jump cut?
For example all characters are aged around 20 to 40 or so then you are at chapter 20 where there will be a time of peace for 15 to 20 years or so and during that Time these Kids could normally grow up!
You could even give the Parent characters certain handicaps or Bonuses, for example Character A got a wound on his leg during the 20th chapter, then his speed got a little reduced and Character B continued training during this Time of Peace and got Stronger because of it?
Ofcourse these characters will need a makeover since well...... They got OLDERRRRRR!!!
Well this is just an Idea, it all depends on Intelligent Systems what they'll do with the next Game!

If you really take a deep look at Kana, they are actually far more complex than they may seem. Kana has got to be without a doubt my favorite character in all of FE, of course its mostly because of personal bias and how much I can relate to her, but I feel like thats why IS makes every character so unique, its so that everyone can have one they relate to on a more-than-personal level.

I actually really like Caeldori in one specific pairing (FE Fates Revelations, pairing Selena and Tsubaki). This has to be the canon pairing because it not only helps fill out Severa's personality and story but it makes the most sense in relational terms. Her Father is perfect and in this paring, her grandmother (and my Wife in Awakening) was as well. Severa/Serena still has an inferiority complex and now, even her daughter seems to be a genius, but you find out that Caeldori does not see it that way because she feels she takes after her mother most of all because the only reason she appears to be a genius is because she worked hard to be like her mother, who worked hard and didn't have everything come naturally to them, handed on a silver plate. It really reminds me of that episode of Naruto where Guy calls Lee a genius of hard work, only in reverse.

I just came here to say if you marry Kaze and Corrin, and give Corrin an Oni Savage talent, Midori can get Profiteer AND Salvage Blow.
Salvage blow can be abused in Siegberts chapter to farm up to 99 of each Hoshidan Iron equivalent weapon, depending on how you're able to handle the infinite reinforcements. Even just abusing 1 DC means 99 of a weapon, which can be forged to +6, or sold for 49500 gold, with a 50% chance of getting a weapon at max luck. So if you're in Birthright or Revelations, you can get a +6 Katana or Shuriken, or if in Conquest, you can sell it all for enough to make a +6 Bronze weapon

I've been waiting to see this one. Still haven't made much progress in Fates, partly because I wanted to know which kids were worth it. Judging by the thumbnail, your choices seem promising.
I understand why you wanted to keep Caeldori, Asugi, and Rhajat away from this list; it is kind of dumb to just reuse the same characters in a series where the cast changes from entry to entry (unless the character is a focal point for the series, like maybe Bahamut in Final Fantasy). But as someone who puts more emphasis on how well the unit functions, I'm not gonna complain about another Sky Knight at least, especially if Caeldori turns out better than both her father and Hinoka. Diviners don't seem very good in Birthright, but my castle provides Amber to forge new scrolls, so maybe I'll let Rhajat rise, maybe I won't. Or maybe I'll just have Sakura fulfill my Onmyoji needs. Asugi seems like a fun character, but with his weird growths, I'm not sure what I want to do with him. Was thinking of taking advantage of his high magic to use the Flame Shuriken with Mama Orochi, but maybe Felicia would work better...
As for your list, the only sketchy pick I see is number 4, but that's mainly because I can't stand her father (aka Mr-Holier-Than-Thou-Incarnate). Her laziness seems like a turn off, too, but maybe I could get past that if I read her supports a bit. Maybe.

So far I'm planning Oboro!Caeldori, Kagero!Shiro, Hinoka!Sophie, Orochi!Asugi, Kaze!Shigure, and Azura!Midori for Birthright. When I get to Conquest, I'm thinking of Elise!Ophelia, Felicia!Forrest, Effie!Percy, and Selena!Sophie (to give Avel wings :P ). Trying to decide whether Camilla would work better as a mom for Velouria or Nina, and what would be a good alternative for each.
Well in terms of most recent playthroughs: in birthright I paired Kagero with ryoma, takumi with oboro, kaden with sakura, Mozu with subaki, kaze with myself (Female unit), Hinoko with Azama, Hana with Saizo, and Orchi with Hyatao. For conquest I did Female corrin with leo, Kaze with camilla, Peri with niles, Selena with Odin, Beruka with laslow, Effie with Benny, Charlotte with Xander, Mozu with arthur, Silas with elise, and jakob with Azura
BEST LIST my favorite children were on it, mitama, velouria, Forrest and Nina but I'm kinda sad you didn't mention mitama making an amazing physical unit in any class inherited by her mother and midori's miracle-vantage set

In all honesty I kinda hope we get a Remake as the next Fire Emblem Game since I kinda want to experience a new Fire Emblem Game that's a remake of an old one more specifically Blazing Sword or Sword of Seals. I kinda want to experience those games with the new Fire Emblem Mechanics but with the ability to use Casual Mode since seriously I'm glad for that since after playing Radiant Dawn as my first Fire Emblem Game (God I still hate myself for making Radiant Dawn as my first FE game to introduce me to the franchise.) then Blazing Sword and Sacred Stones Perma Death can just go suck it as a mechanic to me. I know it's how a Fire Emblem Game should be played but I'd rather not get stressed out when I lose a unit in a chapter especially if it's a long one and I lose a unit at the end only to reset it from the beginning doing all the hard work all over again. Seriously that just isn't fun to me.

anyways, can't really give my criticism on this video, mostly because I only ever used siegbert and midori, oh well, the fates children do feel horrendously shoehorned in, but at least they were all decent characters. (mostly) god I really hope that FE15 has a ten chapter child campaign as the post game, maybe then we can finally be done with time travel and deep realms.
i married leo to sakura and forrest was one of my greatest units. since he has a low defence as a strategist i made him a dark knight instead. give him the right tomes and he mows physical armoured units and any other units that had a low resistance.
