This BMW Is Being Turned Into A Nissan. For Real!

- As the title suggests we are turning an F30 BMW into a Nissan or more specifically we are turning a Nissan drift car into a BMW.
This is an introduction to a swap we will be doing to a Nissan 240 SX. We are taking all the electronics from a 2012 328i with the N20, manual swapping it and making it work in the 240 SX. The purpose is the make a competitive drift car with a light weight powertrain with lots of low end torque.
This will be a daunting task but interesting nonetheless, we will get into coding and lean how the electronic systems work as we run into obstacles.

I've got an entire bmw powertrane (6 speed, v8, front and rear subframes with electronics) in my tube chassis Datsun 240z and let me tell you, not only is it easy but you're going to have a lot of fun doing it👌🏾🔥

Imagine modern bimmer engines taking over from the JDM engines. 😂 If you make this work, their price will skyrocket. On a serious note, it is a good idea. BDS Motorsport in the UK made over 400hp with an old M44.
Tbh i didnt know n20’s cost as much as they do. They’re so common, I’d expect them to be as cheap as n55’s and n54’s ($2k-$3k). These n20’s go for $4k all day
@@SicSemperBeats n55 is two years older but still in production. Here in the UK n55 price has a wide range £2000-6000. N20 is around £2000-4000.
@@bence.gabor.slezak ahh cool. Interesting to see the regional price differences. If this type of build starts to catch on in the future it would be cool to see what happens to n20 and b48 prices.

For a second I believed you where going to do an HR or VR swap on the 328i. Either way I like how innovative bmw engines are being used.

Cool project! I got here a few years ago with your N54 content, but you made it reliable! Back then we only thought about N20s when thinking of 3.5Map sensor upgrades lol. Let’s see what it can do!

@@VehicularDIY oh they're not THAT rare my friend, they're just rock solid machines. The best place to find them is the Facebook forums that we belong to. They're all over there. The m57 Family in America is just pretty tightly knit. I love my brr tuned and stage 2 plus xHP and xDelete x5d! Grab one up!
@@335d-Lane the m57 was sold past 2011 in the U.S.. My x5d is a plate of 2013. If I'm not mistaken that is the last year the m57 was sold in the U.S.. Then the Americans were unfortunate to get to enjoy the inferior n57 which I believe is the successor here.

interesting build. i wonder if it's possible to re-program the DSC mapping to fit the new chassis like MK60 from E46 ZCP as a standalone unit. the original braking characteristic would be unsuitable for the new body
