im waiting for the aftermarker alternate sounds for the pedestrian warning system. jetsons for the win!
Oohhh that’s a good one.
for real! is that a thing for other vehicles?
@@dynamixx150it is on Teslas
Brandon, I got the same feeling in my stomach when I heard that snap, crackle, pop noise when you pulled on the fender as when I backed up my NEW 1987 Suzuki Samurai into a gas station pump. Flashback, I gulped, felt a burn, and sweat started pouring down my forehead. WOW. Getting my 21 4xe Rubicon in the next few weeks, I'm excited, and I hope it's very reliable!!.
Awesome!!
Thanks for doing the good research! We have a Rav4 Prime PHEV and the backup sound so so piercing and loud we can hear it inside the house on the 3rd floor. It seems totally excessive as it is much louder than an ICE engine.
Crazy!!
I think I’ve heard this low drone noise before on the original “Evil Dead” movies!
Brandon: I have nothing to do today, let’s disassemble the whole Wrangler 😂😂
I would love to.
I had that same thought.
That sounds like a lot of fun 🤩
Oh yea! With a little help from my man Davey Jones will be all right!!
@@BrandonHaneline you got that right !!!
I just turned the frontwheel and reached in and pulled the plug. No demounting. To reach the back speaker, I had to demount the spare tyre, and then I could reach the speaker through the holes.
Can it be reprogrammed to play who let the dogs out? Asking for a friend
No but Tesla’s can make a fart noise. It’s halarious
Did you know that the fuse box under the hood has a blank spot in slot number 48? It’s right next to slot number 47. 🤭
Had wondered about those electric vehicle pedestrian warning noises and if there was an on/off setting on the Uconnect screen or a dashboard button somewhere. Apparently, you have to manually unplug them. I opposed them when they were being considered as mandatory for electric vehicles in the USA. Think we're the only country with this requirement, which I think is an annoying safety concern overkill.
Is there a way to turn the screen on without automatically turning the radio on?
Brandon you forgot to let us know where to purchase the white clips on the fender line in case they break when taking it off..!
It’s in the description area. There is an Amazon link.
@@BrandonHaneline Thanks…🙌🏽
Can they make a V8 sound?
Brandon, curious if you unplug the back speaker, does it kill the front speaker? Similar to the results you saw by unplugging the front speaker...?
NVM! Just saw the same question below. Thanks! :)
Hey, do you know what happens when you just unplug the one at the back? Does the front one turn off too?
For the record, unplugging the front speaker turns both front and rear off. Unplugging just the rear leaves the front speaker functional. Also, there is really no need to remove the fender to disconnect. You can reach up behind the inner fender with a small flat-head and get to that retention tab. I'm sure Brandon just removed the fender to show everything more clearly.
I wonder if I could somehow mod this to use as the PA speaker on a cb radio?
I have seriously thought about it
So, can you put them on a auxiliary style switch inside and turn them off when you’re on the trail? Keep the safety requirements but enjoy the quiet.
Assuming the power steering pump doesn’t drive you insane of course
Don’t forget about the loud ac compressor.
@@BrandonHaneline 😬 Doors and top off I guess!
Please answer clearly to an italian fan . If you unplugged the rear speaker , does the front work ? Thank you so much from Rome
Can Anyone show how remove the fuse ?
So my question is if you unplugged the front speaker and the rear speaker wasn't working also once you unplugged the front speaker, will it work the opposite way if you unplugged the rear speaker then the front speaker won't work? Because it seems much easier to unplug the rear speaker then having to remove the front fender to unplug the front speaker and risk breaking clips or damaging the fender.
No it won’t work that way. I wish it would. It’s easier to just remove the fuses.
@@BrandonHaneline oh ok, thanks for clarifying.
Out of curiosity, did you drive with them unplugged? Asking for a friend.
Yes they are the same.
HALP! My 4xe when first started and I drive a bit, will JUMP forward when I move my foot from gas to break! It scares me I’ll hit someone. What is going on?
The pedestrian warning sound is mostly there to help Blind People detect a moving quiet electric vehicle.
When the proposal was initially being introduced to Congress some years ago, I thought it sounded over-the-top ridiculous and I wrote my members of Congress objecting to it. I believe in reasonable safety measures. Requiring all electric vehicles to emit an annoying noise is absurd and unreasonable.
Can you change the sound coming of the speaker?
For now no. I’m sure someone will come up with something
Looks easier to disable the rear speaker than the front. When you disconnect the rear does it disable the front? Asking for a friend of a friend.
Yes
But my official statement is do not disconnect for safety reasons.
@@BrandonHaneline At least with DRLs, you can select whether to leave them on or not on your Uconnect screen. When out exploring wilderness, would prefer to be able to easily shutoff pedestrian warning noises.
My friend was just asking me the same thing! Thanks for the confirmation
Unclipping the rear speaker connector did not disable the front speaker for me. However, I then just pulled the F47 fuse (QVPM - Quiet Vehicle Pedestrian Module
, red 10 amp), and it disable both speakers! No unclipping needed.
Rig for Silent Running
thank you very much for the effort. Please make video for the safety in the vehicle in case of accident.
When in 4x4 high or low, does it stops or you annoy eveyone in a trail?
It seems to turn off in 4WD Low.
Nice!! I didn’t know that.
can you make play v8 sounds instead of ocean sounds? lol
Maybe a hemi!!
Some electric vehicles I don't hear anything That's just The Jeep
Make it fart sound
That would be awesome like Tesla
A pedestrian staring at their smart phone is going to pay no attention at all to this warning sound. Sure wish we could replace it with a custom sound or none at all.
