Very elegant and proper solution. Now we can drive silently when we want, such as to avoid disturbing wildlife, deer and such, as in those neat Jeep commercials highlighting silent operation in natural settings.
Great video (as always), and just to reiterate, this is for when you are off-road and want to run silent. The pedestrian warning system should never be disabled when on-road (for safety reasons and likely for legal reasons as well). I hope the vehicle logs record state of that aux switch so you can prove the bypass was off if, god forbid, you ever have a low speed accident and someone calls into question whether the warning system was on or not.
So, respectfully, if I just cut the wires to the speakers to the Pedestrian Warning system to make it forever inoperative would that work or should the wires go somewhere that may affect or effect another component?
Just looking into doing this in the GC... Is there any reason that this could not have been done at the fuse vs the speaker? The GC, and I'd assume the same for the Wrangler, uses a Micro3 fuse that ties the Quiet Vehicle Pedestrian Mod with a MOD PIM into one fuse. If one could split that fuse into two seperate fuses and isolate the QVPM leg with a switch might be the way to approach? Engine bay for the GC is a little tight to go digging for the speaker and the Fuse panel is nicely tucked in the rear and easily accessible to use taps. Everything can easily be unplugged and stock fuses dropped back into place. Replace the simple rocker switch with the same relay you used but we would need to add some kind of remote relay to take the place of the aux switches we don't get in the GC to auto reset the speakers at next startup... Still brain storming.
@@Wrangler4XEFans To follow up... I have worked something up with a remote relay and the same relay you use to give me the auto reset on the ignition cycle (it will always default to on when the car is cycled). I am just waiting on some part to get a better tap on the Micro3 fuse, so I don't have to split the Micro3 fuse out into two separate fuses gunking up the fuse box area (cabinet?) in the back of the GC. I also found that they have a convenient pass-through from the fuse panel down under the floor where the spare tire sits which will allow for a cleaner install of a "project" box to house the relays. All are easily unpluggable and no modification is needed to the existing wiring.
@@Wrangler4XEFans Mystery solved. I finally know what those tubes are that came with my Jeep! Now I need to figure out if I kept them 🙂 (but I guess I can always get more with a trip to HD/Lowe’s).
Put some lights and winch on that rig. The pedestrian warning system is annoying and I certainly don’t miss it. I got big heavy LOD bumpers for any pedestrians that get in my way. Or I suppose I could use the horn.
Thank you so much for this video. I did it in the same way you did and it works great. Now I can drive off road in complete silence. It's an awsome experience! Love it 👍
I would love to be able to have this for trails. I dont know if i can impliment this by myself to be honest. My Jeep will finally be here in a week or two, and i dont think i got it with the Aux switches. Will i need to have those installed first to make this mod work or are there other buttons/switches i could use to turn this on and off?
In all reality, you could do this with a standard switch. I just used the aux switch so I could use the settings to make sure it was reset every time I start the vehicle. I didn't want to forget to reenable it.
@@Wrangler4XEFans in my opinion, providing the wiring diagram would actually prevent some people, that you've seen here in your comments, from just "pulling the fuse" and help keep the system operational as intended. People are going to do it, the question now becomes whether to do it correctly, or do it like another 4xe youtuber and simply unplug the speaker.

Agreed. I wanted a way to make sure the PWS would never be left turned off.
Thank you for your solution. I did the same and it is great. 👍 Please more tips and tricks. Thx from the Czech Republic 😉
Thanks for posting this! Good idea to use #4 (or #3) as those are the lower amp ones (than aux #1 and #2).
That’s what I was thinking too. Save 1 and 2 for bigger stuff.
So, respectfully, if I just cut the wires to the speakers to the Pedestrian Warning system to make it forever inoperative would that work or should the wires go somewhere that may affect or effect another component?
I don’t think it will impact anything else. From what I understand, it will throw a code if you put a code reader on it.

I would think so. Seems like a way smarter way to go, actually.

@@brnscofrnld What a great idea. I’d like to see how you do it.
Chris, did you have to cut a wire, or did you find a useful connector?
I cut the power wire going to the system. I soldered my connections then used the Jeep shrink tubing that came with the vehicle.

Just pull the fuse Chris.

It's a great system but I do like being able to kill it when off road.
I like that antenna, which one is it?
What is the blue bar that goes back and forth by your shifter when you put in gear?
Echo Auto

Super random but can you download sounds to make your hybrid sound like a V8 idling or running
That would be awesome but that’s above my pay grade.
Or perhaps Toto's Africa
I seen this on another video cant remember where, a guy had his 4xe sounding like a hellcat from the outside speakers
Found it ruclips.net/video/ayQAd--ELFg/видео.html

Could you add a simple wiring diagram?
I've been rather reluctant to do that. That information could be used to disable the PWS so I've just been reluctant to post it.

can you post a link to the relay on amazon you used
I'm also interested in this. I searched that model numbers and it's a 130v AC control?!?
I’m interested too. Did anyone ever post a link?

The jeep makes enough noises where we dont need this PWS
No doubt, especially during the summer.
I think it is a horrible system!! Renting a Jeep Grand Cherokee
This is so stupid i would never ever buy this vehicle or the wrangler hybrid
It’s required by law.
