My uncle passed away in 2007 took me 4 years to delete a voice message he left as I never picked up the phone in time, he died 1 day later at the age of 39
9 years on this is the most heartbreaking thing I’ve watched. Raw emotion, I hope Bryn recovered from his grief. Your report touched me and shows the impact Speedo had on the people he knew. Gone to soon. If there was ever a player that represented what the geordies wanted it was Gary Speed. Rest in peace.
Brought a tear to my eye man, he held it together so well but the pain was just too much, top class from Bryn Law there. Rest in peace Speedo, never forgotten by the Toon army
I’ve met Bryn Law at many Leeds games as he does the commentary for the club and he’s one of the nicest men you could wish to meet. Seeing him breakdown is so so heartbreaking 💔 RIP GARY SPEED🕊💙💛
I have not seen this footage for a very long time. However, seeing this tonight has brought tears to my eyes again. Still miss Speedo and now appreciate even more what he has done for Welsh Football. RIP - You are gone but you will never be forgotten!!
I just want to jump into this screen and comfort Bryn... like a lot of depression sufferers we never known that they are suffering and in pain I hope you're at peace now Gary

This is raw. I am sure you have found time is a great healer Bryn in dealing with tragedy. Does not make the pain any easier but allows you to put the grief into a seperete compartment from the rest of your day to day life.
I’ve always hated Leeds Utd, I’m a Barnsley fan it’s a local thing, the only reason I mention it is because it means fuck all in the grand scheme of things, nearly 20 years ago I found my brother who had taken his own life, the shock and pain are almost unbearable and very hard to describe, my heart goes out to Gary’s family and anyone who deeply felt his passing, also to anyone who feels the despair that Gary did please talk to someone, anyone, doesn’t have to be anyone you know, there are lots of services out there, that conversation could be the turning point.
That was the sadest and most emotional piece of media coverage of the death of this Legend. It captures how highly thought of Gary Speed was, not only by his friends and those close to him but by sports fans like myself. Bryn was genuine in his report here....very sad. God bless Gary Speed, a true legend.
Literally breaks my heart watching this, if only Gary had known how much pain he would cause his family and friends especially his lovely boys who were his world, he wouldn’t have done this. I hope he is now at peace 💔
@@terrybunch7313 It goes both ways. He definitely had the right to end his own life, nobody said he didn't, but I imagine what he did caused enormous pain for his loved ones. I contemplated suicide myself once (around 6-7 years ago) and I was very close, but the thought of how much it would destroy my mother is what really stopped me. It's the only thing that stopped me. Not saying Gary was wrong, I don't know what his problems were, but just saying the original commenter has a point (to an extent). I wouldn't call him selfish for the comment
@@eddieshredder5740 people like you are part of the problem - you clearly don't understand mental health and likely never will. I hope you never have a family member or friend who suffers from depression.

Raw emotions for all to see live on air such a tragic tragic shame. Unfortunately I can relate. RIP Gary speed I have no doubts you light up the afterlife with your infectious smile & charisma whilst watching down on your loved ones here on earth
Thats so sad. I remember Speed so darn well. I literally grew up with the guy (as I was born in 85). I`m a NUFC supporter but I think I can speak for the Leeds supporters as well, Gary didn`t become a legend just because he died, he truely is a legend, for both teams. You are still missed Gary, and you will never be forgotten.
Gary Speed [like at least 700 other boys] was systematically abused. The FA has so much answering to do, and still nothing substantial has been done after 50+ years of systemic abuse. That is sinister. "In 2018, 7 years after his death, an old letter written by Speed in which he noted of being depressed and wishing to sleep and "never wake up" was uncovered by his widow Louise. The letter was addressed to Louise and it was written when Speed was 17 years old." Men are too proud to admit to being abused.
Glasgow Rangers fan here. Gary Speed will Forever be in EVERY Football fans heart. ❤ HE EARNED THAT! R.I.P Gary Speed. Truly one of a kind. A Legend. A Gentleman. A true Profesional at his work, on and off the field. A Role Model in every sense. Yes, a Legend at MANY Football Clubs and especially the Welsh International squad, both as Player and Manager, but I will ALWAYS remember him fondly for his outstanding performances for Leeds against Rangers in the "Battle of Britain" in the 1992/93 Season. Then moments later Mark Hatley perfectly delivered a crossed ball assist to Ally McCoist who scored a World-Class Diving Header. Hateleys Goal is consiered as the best goal scored, but personally my all time favorite Goal is Ally McCoists Diving Header. Ally was born a Rangers fan and the goal meant so much to him, he famously burst out crying with tears straight after scoring, which almost got him subbed off if he didn't control his emotions vry quickly. Then Eric Cantona scored a beautiful Goal as a late conselation. Over both Legs, Gary Speed and Eric Cantona TERRORISED Rangers with their unmatched and untouchable skills. If it wasn't for the Late and Great Goalkeeper "The Goalie" Andy Goram (R.I.P to him as well) making about 100+ World-Class saves during both Legs, Gary Speed and Cantona would have won both games single-handedly for Leeds if it wasn't for Andy Gorams efforts in front of goal. For me, Andy Goram was the TRUE Man of the Match and Hero in both of the two games played. That's just my personal opinion.
