    4:44 is when i truly loved the scene, most race scenes in movies in actuality show a gear lever being forcefully put into reverse. Its the tiny little things that make it work from her eyes and slight lean in when asking to tiny little touches like this one simple shift.

      One thing I found a little weird was when he was driving slow his foot at 4:37 was all the way down on the accelerator. Other than that the scene like you mentioned was perfect, unlike some movies where a car while racing has atleast 20 gears. 🤣🤣

      is he rev matching?

    • @greg-warsaw4708
      @greg-warsaw4708 3 дня назад

      In most (incompetent) pursuit / road race etc. scenes the gear lever is brutally jerked dozens of times as if a car had dozens of gears - with no resemblance to real upshifts and downshifts. Dumbest of all, when a car is already strained to the limit, a driver in such ineptly made scenes throws an angry glance at a rival (always side by side at that moment), abruptly changes gear and goes forward like a cannonball. However, what was that gearchange? Not a downshift, because revs were already skyscraping, not up because it would make no sense to redline for so long in a lower one in the first place). So, most movies cannot reflect real fast driving which is smooth and purposeful rather than spectacular in driver inputs. This film is better, but still the way NL would drive that Lancia would be ultimately smooth visually, nothing to rave about inside the car - just fiendishly fast looking outside. Passengers would be scared to death on an approach to a corner, then covered at perfectly controlled verge of stability.

    • @dutchdude1985

      @greg-warsaw4708 hard to argue with, youre right and main stream media doesnt even attempt to keep it real nor could they if their lives depended on it. Sad state really but hey it is what it is.

      I once told my coworkers that cars talk.. in the contest that a car will usually tell you if something is wrong and they tought i was crazy.. you get to know how they sound and feel and vibrate under normal and when something is wrong you then get to feel it, a noise that wasnt there or is different now.. something feels diferent, rougher , the gas pedal feeels sandier, the brake pedal vibrates or goes softier than before..

      I also get funny looks when explaining to listen when the cutting bit is dull:
      New cuts ssssssss, dull goes hsssss.
      Of course they cant hear it first, but in a couple of months they can easily tell.
      The problem is, we are slowly going away, get few apprentices and young fabricators have no one to teach them....
