- UPDATE 2023- I STAND BY THE REVIEW BUT I NO LONGER CAN SUPPORT MOONLIGHT ROLLER. DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE PURCHASING AS THE COMPANY HAS BEEN INVOLED IN A SCANDAL.

Thank you for this thorough review. It sounds like the Lollys today are a slightly different version. I'm just getting back to skating after many years. Skating always brought me joy! 😊❤
We've been skating since the 60's. We always rolled tongue down was the style lol
I haven’t skated in almost 20 years this was very helpful! Thank you🙏🏽
No problem! Good luck and enjoy!
Great review! I was looking at both skates and went with the moonlight roller because of the gray color option. I’m a little disappointed in the ankle support, because I’m coming from a Suregrip boardwalk that has suede outer and leather or leather like lining. I’m gonna check out more of your videos. I’m interested in more about insoles because I seem to be a half size so all skates I’ve tried are too big or too small. Looking for an insole to make the bigger skates a bit more snug.
This was really helpful! Thanks!
Im so glad!
Are the Lolly’s you showed in the video the 2021 version of Lolly’s because I heard in the 2021 version of the Lolly’s have more padding and more ankle support.
Nope, the ones I have are the earlier version. I'm super curious how they compare.
@@MaryHadALittleHobby thank you! Your video was great!
Do you use these for outdoor skating as well as rink? love your colors I picked out the exact same colors. Thanks!
Thank you!I was mostly using the moonlight rollers for indoors and moxi's outdoors.
Well..
The moon design kinda got Me sold
lollll samee i absolutely adore moonlight's designs
Great Video
I know this video is a year old but do you recall the color of your moon boot. And also where you purchased your wheels & toe cover.
Hi! Sorry for the late reply! The moonlights are in the color Emerald. I purchased my wheels from Fritzys Skate Shop. They are Luminous wheels in the color Sunray Glow. . The toe cover was a custom from a skater on IG. Wouldnt recommend since communication subpar and wait time was long.
I would say try buying the skates from a skate shop or second hand not directly from their site. MR was in some controversy recenly and it was effecting shipping.
Do you have a narrow or a wide foot ? , are Lollys good for an intermediate skater ?
I have a narrow to average foot. The moonlights are better for a wider foot. As for the next question I think it depends more on what type of skating you are doing/want to get into, more so than experience. Like
I love my Lollys for trail skating(especially with the upgraded plate) and I think thats what they are marketed as being for. I see people start off park skating in Lollys but move to boots with more ankle support. So its a combo of personal preface and what type of skating you want to do.
@@MaryHadALittleHobby thanks so much for your answer !!!I’m into like spinning turning kinda stuff and I guess lollys good choice )
I am a man with a wide foot and would not recommend the moonlight roller. The skate boot is fully a half inch narrower than my foot and thus unwearable. The tongue on the right skate also had a terrible attachment with too much bulk pressing down on my big toe. Upon closer inspection the right skate boot was a 1/4 inch shorter than the left boot. Read their return policy. I am stuck with 2 pairs of unwearable moonlight rollers. I would not recommend these unless you are able to try them on in person before committing to a purchase. I ended up buying a new pair of rink rental skates that are amazingly comfortable and perfect out of the box.
Thanks for the reviews!
Thanks!
Question
Are the wheels interchangeable? You say you love the moxi wheel, can you put moxi wheel on the other set of skates?
For the most part yes! Some plates might not have space to allow for larger wheels tho. For exanple the Sure Grip LoRide plate has a wheel size recommendation of 57 mm and below.
Read descriptions throuroughly to see if they make any caveats like that. You can also email a skate shop to double check.
I've skated on the reactor neo, reactor thrust, stock impala, stock moonlight roller and the viper zytel nylon plates and never had any issues changing wheels/wheel sizes.
Just an additional note: moonlight are made in China, Lolly are made in USA
Means Moonlight will be made with better quality
@@ashbyashby2616 I guess that's up for debate. In my experience items made in USA are higher quality in both materials and workmanship. I would prefer to buy American products (Lolly) than items sourced from China (Moonlight) if I want them to last and be of the highest standards.
Can you share a referral code to the stuff you support? I already checked myself, first time I’ve watched you and did,… who is this 😳 gal

What's your regular shoe size?
Womens 8
I wear a 10 in women and want to buy the moxi panthers but unsure the size I’m thinking a 9
Good comparison until you gaged your final opinion on the race of the manufacturer. Sad.
i disagree
I disagree as well. Roller Skating is was and always will be a black thing. I think my opinion means something as well. I grew up in the eighties Miami attended two of the hippest rinks on the planet Tropical South & Tropical North. Fri & Sat you could not get a parking space anywhere at T.S. lot was full out to the highway. Several years gone by and T.N. was the same hot mess. I have a slight hearing fuzz from X loud base music and broke a wrist bone due to a spill on the concrete. I would not dream of taking up Skating again without WRIST GUARDS.

@@chrisgordon3774 Rude reply to her comment. I disagreed with your comment above because she was entirely entitled to her opinion on the skates. As she is a black woman it was ok for her to feel passionate about supporting a black-owned business. It was an opinion video about HER opinion. It was a valid contribution from her perspective.
