I went skating at a rink the other night, haven’t been in years & years, the skates were short, like ankle height, I could barely skate. My feet are so wide, I’m hesitant to purchase brand new without try on. But OMG I’ve become absolutely fascinated. Your new skates are gorgeous.
I just brought the same pair last week and loved wearing them my first time. I'm not a beginner but I need to gain more confidence/skills as I return to skating. I have to look into different wheels , per your suggestion, as I plan to go street skating. Thanks for the content!
I just bought me a Moonboot recently. It is hands down the best most comfortable skate in history. I had a choice between these and the Moxi's and the Moonboot was just the better one. I agree the wheels are fairly cheap looking when I compare them to my Roces Skates. But overall as a beginner I love this skate. It feels like a sock 😅🙌🤣
Hi Dee, I'm a beginner who's been using Impala skates but I find it very difficult to use the toe-stop which is non-adjustable. I recently watched a skater comparing Impala skates to Moxi ones and she didn't recommend the Impalas because of the toe-stops. They are quite high so you really have to elevate your heel to stop. I saw that quite a few of your videos feature the Rio Rollers. How come you went with them versus Moxi or other brands? Just doing a google search of best skates for beginners - Rios don't make it so I was wondering because I am thinking of purchasing the Rio Roller Signatures. Thanks!
Honestly, back then I just liked the colour and the price. There wasn't a well-thought-out rhyme or reason to it. But I actually enjoyed my rio's a lot. They had adjustable/removable toe stops which was a must for me. But I ended up really enjoying them, they are sturdy which was great for my ankles in the beginning, and I used to skate 10 miles on them daily when I started and they held up great. Moxi at the time was out of my budget and it was the height of skating in the first lockdown so skates were pretty much sold out all over. Elevating your heel might not be such a bad thing by the way. if you want to get into dance skating and eventually remove your toe stops, getting used to a higher setting will give you an advantage. it was a tough 2 weeks learning to skate without toe stops because I was so used to them being too accessible and close to the floor hahaha. Currently, I sold my Rio's I have 2 Moonlights and 1 Moxi. My Moxi is my current go-to. I will make a video on that soon. I would say do not buy expensive skates unless you are sure this is your thing and you will skate the heck out of them. Otherwise, 300-400+ USD isn't worth it.
I’m slipping a lot on my new moonlight rollers, I felt it was the plastic feeling wheels, not sure what I should replace them with. What are your thoughts on the bearings? ❤❤❤
Some wheels have a little bit of coating on them when new ime & I felt this w the Moonlights. I got em first, they will get less slippery w just a little use esp outside, try tennis courts. & also as your balance improves . I also had moxi 78A 57mm gummies when i started & I LOVED those for first few months they seriously helped me balance but w time i got over them i felt holding me back unless using for trails. . Now i pretty much use mostly 82-85A hybrids in 62/57mm for indoors & smooth outdoors. Snd im slowly advancing to 92A grindstones more indoors & 95A Fames. After i researched a little i realized in addition to your skating type & surface weight id also a factor, lightweights tend to go w lower duros, as it can be easier to slip
I love luminous wheels because theyr'e hybrid (indoor outdoor) and have light. But I also have Sonar zen wheels. For bearings I use cheezeballs bearings. i tend to use hybrid wheels only because i skate both indoors and outdoors. so it depends on where you plan to skate.
I'm kinda of a beginner plus...so I guess I need harder shell boot...what can you recommend... because I think I need something more stable...I got skates Amazon and I think they make harder to do moves. Thanks for your help
@@DeeDellimore can you please post more roller skating videos, not tutorials but just you skating around town, and vibing/ roller skating in scenic locations✨🌟💫

Hey! Do you have any wheel recommendations? Would I have to buy bearings too?

Where did you get your toe guard strips from? I love them!
