    I started off in a pair of the holographic Impalas. After about a month of getting my feet wet I knew I wanted to pursue park skating. I just got a pair of the Moxi Panther skates for the added ankel support and I have no regrets! My Impalas are now used for some simple cruising around town.

    I’m on the Impala waitlist! Use to skate a lot at Venice back in the day. Starting again at 52. I can’t wait to get them! I went down the crazy rabbit hole as well when I saw your Instagram video lol! Thinking about the wheels...I was planning on the silver hologram ones, but hearing that the Rose Gold is more supportive/padded has made me think of changing. I got mine in October! I think they're really good and I'm just a beginner. I was really glad that Moxi came out with a more affordable skate because I trust their brand more than Impala. I just use them for cruising in the street and I'm trying to learn tricks like transitioning from forward to backward skating and spins. I did switch out my wheels to Radar Energy 78a 62 mm wheels for outdoor use though as the hybrid stock wheels are better for indoors. I added some toe guards as well. Overall, I'd recommend them if you're just starting out! They're great. :] Make sure the check the size chart on the website to get the right size!

      I just got them and I HATE them! They are made in China, I should have researched them more before hand because I was really disappointed in how bulky and impossible to move in they are. The stoppers are really small and place in a strange spot so I have to practically stand in pointe position to get them to engage. My ankles are super bruised because they are sooooo stiff and actually dig into my leg when I try to glide. Also the wheels are really soft so your have to work HARD to get any speed.

      Jack boots is more for ramps and tricks. Lolly is more for dancing

    • @potato.pancake
      @potato.pancake 3 года назад +7

      to my understanding:
      for dance skating, you need ankle mobility. the lolly doesn’t have much ankle support, so the lolly is better for dance skating.
      for park skating, you need ankle support. the jack boot is designed for park skating, so it has a lot of ankle support. that ankle support prevents you from having the mobility you need for dance skating.
      i’m sure you can still dance skate with the jack boot, it would just be harder than with a skate with a softer heel area.

    • @potato.pancake
      @potato.pancake 3 года назад +1

      i think i should specify that i wasn’t referring to dance skating that involves tricks like jumps (maybe i’m thinking more about jam skating?), because you’d need ankle support for that

    • @LynleyCat
      @LynleyCat 3 года назад +7

      @@potato.pancake to clarify on styles most people that get into ‘DANCE’ skating are doing RHYTHM skating which requires a pretty flexible ankle boot not a stiff ankle, or some just lace to the notch if there and leave top untied. (The problem here is many people think this is JAM skating, which us very diff & usually uses a low boot and flat heel skate - think breakdancing style its very challenging & most are not doing this, though they may be attending a ‘SKATE JAM/skate session’ thats just a hangout lol)
      I highly suggest to watch the video ‘Jam vs Rhythym’ skating it explains the inner vs outter rink tricks, the flex boots vs flat low skates & also the history & ingluence of location styles.
      Now the stiff boots are yes for ARTISTIC skating which can involve dancing aspects as well but think an ice skate routine, its in a rink with Jumps & spins etc this tequiring a firm supportive ankle! (note watch the ad video for Jackson mystiques its a beautiful ARTISTIC routine) IME & IMO ARTISTIC skaters need more strength & discipline & often take classes vs watch videos to learn.

    Hi everyone! I've seen skaters who want to dance, take off the toe stops. Does anyone know why this is? Did her second Moxie skated have toe stops? There was something there, but I don't know if it was a toe stop
    I have the exact same Impala skates as her and I'm wondering if I should switch wheels, and take off toe stops for dancing!

    • @aiyanamelendrez2516
      @aiyanamelendrez2516 3 года назад +1

      What she had on her Moxis is called a "toe jam" I think, and those are better for dance skating! If you want the agility to dance or do certain tricks, you either need an adjustable toe stop you can shorten, or a toe jam. Impalas don't have adjustable toe stops, which is why I think hers were either removed or she had toe jams I think?? Hope this helps!

    How would the sizing work for wide feet? Are the Impala and Moxi skates narrow?
    I already know how to skate but could definitely use more practice. I can't afford to go to a skating rink daily so will be doing most of my practicing on a tennis court what skates are best for both indoor and outdoor skating?

    • @bumblebee2657
      @bumblebee2657 3 года назад +1

      hoping i can answer your question. you can get custom width moxi skates, i don’t know about impalas. also, the boot doesn’t matter much for indoor/outdoor skating. it’s the wheels you want to focus on. harder wheels for indoors, softer wheels for outdoors, and in between for skateparks. if you search up wheel hardness, you can usually find a guide.

    • @MsFrankyv
      @MsFrankyv  3 года назад +1

      I second what she said! I dont think impalas are the best for wider feet because they have ZERO give. Moxis are leather so at least they will mold to your foot I heard that suregrips are great for wider feet also btw and everyone I know that has them LOVES them.
