did not expect that when i looked in your description box 😭 the confidence!
I loved your review on this skate! Very honest! That’s awesome! I just ordered these skates as a matter of fact. I’m so excited!!
I've been using my candi girl skates for over a year, maybe almost 2 years. They're great! I don't do a lot of spectacular tricks, just regular street skating, but they have lasted!
Are they comfortable to skate in for long distances?
@@graysongirl6403 yes they are, but I'll be honest, Impala skates are even more comfy for long distance because they have a cushy lining and the candi girl ones don't. I love my candi girl skates but my impala skates are my favorite
hi this was a few months ago but where did you get your candi girl skates from? i’m looking for my first pair of skates and i’ve found some on amazon or skate hut idk what is better
@@emx1581 I bought them on Amazon
@@brittnirenaud2989 thank you!!!
yesss the wheel size makes a huge difference. I got the sure grip boardwalks and the wheels are huge and I felt like i couldnt maneuver smoothly then I switched for a smaller wheel and i learned much better. the radar energies are awesome and small and soft to go over rougher surfaces. love the video.
Absolutely loved your review! Will be getting myself a pair of Candi girl!
I still use my Candi Girls 3 years later. The boots are great!
Omgg really? Wow the skates are really strong even after 3 years, How much did u buy it for? And is it good for rough floors, outdoors?
@@sophialucy06 you're probably better off getting better outdoor wheels and new bearings. For the price point of these skates I feel new wheels/ bearings would be in the budget.
@@Potato_Pick Can I use it for park skating?
@@sophialucy06 honestly everyone is different. I will say the boot is rather stiff, I don't tend to lace mine up all the way. Some people like the extra support some think it's restrictive. I'd try to break them in as much as possible if you wanna try park skating. That way you have a good feel for your skates and can tell whether they're right for your skating needs. Also at that point you'll probably know if skating is a long term hobby for you and you might think about investing in a pair of skates that will give you more options.
@@Potato_Pick Tysm for the info! :)>
Your suggestions are spot on---getting outdoor wheels and loosening the trucks. I learned these things through trial and error after feeling terrified. Thanks for the video, so that other skaters will know in advance. If I had it to do over again, I would have saved for a higher-quality skate. If these had been my first ever skates, I might have given up. Plus, one tongue was sewn so that it easily folds in on itself sideways, which is super annoying. Still, I love the color and will continue to skate in them.
Oh my god, I’ve been worried about the hills bc my entire lil city is hilly, and then I hear you say you live in Washington too! 😂 freaking WA, why it gonna do us like that lol
I just moved to WA in September & I’m still getting used to the hills ! Lol.
Such a good review - I’m so sick of people giving skate reviews that I know are sponsored (which whatever I mean make money but) and only say positive things. I bought barely used impalas off of my neighbor for really cheap and the boot just tore off the heel after literally a month of skating. Was looking for my next skate and needed something cheap so I’m definitely gonna get the candis. Thanks for talking about how tight the trucks and wheels are too cus Im lazy and wouldn’t have done that on my own lmao
ur giving me the confidence to absolutely trash impala in a review
Great review. I just got these and watched your review so many times. I'm definitely going to switch up the wheels based on your recommendation, as the pavement where I live isn't super smooth.
What kind of person would you say Candigirls are best for?
Got linked here from reddit and your review helps SO MUCH. Thanks for the advice, rock on
Thank you for your review. I'm a beginner. I had inline skating when I was in high school (20 something years ago lol) Wanted to try something different and skating again. So rolling blade here I go.
Did you ever try inline figure skating? Same boots, but with roller blades and a toe stop.
Hi! Loved the review. Do you have a link for the wheels and bearings you used?
“I think thats were I got that scar from”
The scar: a tiny scratch
Its healed and my camera is not the best :^P
follow me on Instagram is you wanna see the gory stuff lol
I got a beautiful pair of Candi Grls (the "Carlin" in suede gray/blue with the burgundy eyelets and laces) and returned them.
They're SO uncomfortable. The suede is unbelievably stiff and there's NO padding.
Their sizing is way off - they build their women's size 10 as euro 43 instead of the 42 it should be, and there's no half-sizes. You mentioned you have room at your toes...you shouldn't. It puts your balance further back from the front wheels than it should be and will hinder your learning.
The wheels suck for both indoors and outdoors.
The laces are cheap, thin, and aren't waxed...they're tennis shoe laces, not skate laces.
The toe stop isn't adjustable.
Someone looking to buy a skate to learn on without blowing a ton of money will be MUCH better served by getting a pair of Papaison for $60-$70. Comfortable padding, adjustable toe stop, true fit to size. The wheels that come on them are fine for indoor rinks and outdoor smooth surfaces (like tennis/basketball courts or walking paths); you'll want a different set for rough sidewalk & street skating.
3:28 stiff? that's loose af lol. I mean I am a figure skater so maybe that's why, but holy cow do those give any support at all? Idk if you every tried on profesional figure skates, but when you do.. be prepared!! The boot doesn't bend at all or maybe a tiny bit, but that's because you have blades and not wheels so you need to be really really stable with jumps, spins and edges ofcourse.
Hahahahah calm down 😂 thanks for the review
thank you for the in-depth review
Love your energy 😃.
there's 2 things that ONLY you can decide no one else, let's say you feel like your wheels are to loose tighten them don't just go of what other people say fit it to what YOU want
This was really helpful. Thank you!
Thank you for an honest review! Oh my god. Thank you.
What brand toe stop did you replace the stock one with?
Sure Grip - Bulls Eye Toe stop ( 5/16 fixed style )
Hello, hey which slide block fits in Candi Grl? Do you have one? Gracias.
Slide Block Please.
This was helpful. Thank you.
Yay I also don’t like to buy on amazon. Sorry I didn’t get were you bought the wheels, lace and stoppers.
I started on roller derbies. Too fast but I got use to it
What's the width in size 7-9?
Because I have wide feet and so I can start learning
I hate suede boots 💯I bought them once bc I thought they were cute. It was like skating with cement blocks in comparison to leather boots. Especially with heavy plate. My feet need the flex son❗💯 😂 Had my Sure Grip black-leather-badass since 2014 👍🏽😁
Thanks, I was wondering which size should I get when skating? should I get the same size as my shoe size?
What bearings would you recommend buying…? I don’t know sizing or anything haha. I’m complete beginner
hey wat shoe size are you and what shoe size did you buy ur skates
thx xx
I bought mine 7 months ago for 30 dollars from facebook market place. I am learning very slowly so I'll definitely be watching your videos and recommendations.
Link for the wheels please? 💕 and bearings ?
Would you recommend these skates for skate park?
I'm in between getting these or getting the beach bunny moxis, anyone know which are better? I Wana do outdoor dancing skating. Nothing crazy, I was durability and quality, without needing to get new wheels
are they suede or faux leather?
I'm thinking about buying from Amazon or should I get from website but they're always out of stock
UPDATE
I bought from Amazon love themmmmmmmm
Find a pair on Amazon by a seller with good reviews! eBay also works, you can find used skates in good condition
Idk what size or color you are looking for, but I see them as available on Amazon. Periwinkle, royal blue, and seafoam are listed.
Try urban outfitters!
@@amelia507 thanks
@@astronomari thanks
I'm new to roller skating and actually haven't even got my skates in yet...wondering if anyone knows if I can put the gummy wheels on these?
There's no toe scratches or tears. Do you wear toe caps?
What size are the luminous wheels you got?
Radar 57 wheels
What about smaller wheels cuz I found some candi girl roller skates but there peach pink and they have smaller wheels so should I get those instead of the ones like u have?
There are two types of the candi girl carlin roller skates, one is the one she has and they are more for outdoor and then the ones that have smaller weeks are more Indore skates
@@stacyocarroll3338 so should I get the ones like she has cuz I heard that there hood for outdoors and indoors. Because she changed her wells to smaller ones because she said she got more control with them that’s why idk which ones to get
@@kimchii_stew you should get the ones she has the are better for all around skating and if you wanted you could always change the weels
@@kimchii_stew it really depends what time of skating you want to do because the smaller weeks ones come with hardd weels so the are for indoor skating so if you wanna be able to go outside you should get the ones she has they are also just a better all around skate boot and stuff
@@stacyocarroll3338 where do you get them from?
Hey love. New sub :)
Everyone, im exactly 22.86cm but i usually get size eu 36 for shoes.
But someone s selling candi girl skates for cheap price size 4 or eu 35 22.86cm. should i risk buying it? Will my feet hurt? Or ist it stretchy material and will mold to my feet
Hi I just got my Candi girls yesterday. I am normally a EU size 40 to 41 (depending on which shoes). So I had to make the decision if I wanted to buy the 40 or the 41,5 EU size for these skates. I chose the 41,5 (7 UK) because I just didn't want them to be too small. When I put them on they fitted perfectly and were still a bit tight around my toes. So I highly recommend choosing the bigger size if you're in between two sizes because you can always put an extra insole in the skates if they're a bit too big but if they are too small then they will hurt you and it's not worth the risk in my opinion. Hoped that helped
I only have like 100 dollars but I’m not a beginner 😭 but I need new skates
These are good for general skating not just for beginners, I think. You should save up and get ur dream skates
Go on OfferUp !!! That’s where I got mine.
Thank you
What are your new wheels called?
Radar 57 wheels.
Does anyone know what size of bearings to get to replace the ones on these?
Question: are the toe stops adjustable?
No, they are bolt on
But you can change them out
Love to see more videos, less cussing would be more pleasant 😊 thank you
