I ordered my Prowlers from the Moonlight Roller website on Black Friday, and I got the skates, Luminous wheels, and jam plugs for around $250. Great sale!!! I absolutely LOVE the boots. They’re very well made and have features that way more expensive boots don’t have. The 1st thing I do when I get a new pair of skates is completely take them apart so I can check everything out and make adjustments. There were a few places in the stitching where the thread was left too long when it was cut, but I used a lighter to burn the threads down and help keep them from coming loose later. I’m an indoor rink skater, so I put some harder slick wheels on them instead of using the stock wheels. I also swapped out the stock laces for a set of Core by Derby Laces because I just like waxed laces best. The stock wheels & laces are 100% great though! You’re totally correct about why the tongue slides around. You gotta use the tongue stay for sure. The tongue on the left skate of my Lollys twists around no matter how tight I lace them. I usually swap the toe stops on new skates with a set of Bont Infinity, but the Moonboot toe stop is small enough for me. The ONLY thing I really, really don’t like is that I can’t get the trucks as loose as I need them to be in order to have the control I want. I’ve tried swapping out the cushions with some from my other skates, and the kingpin isn’t long enough to get the nut back on. The weight of the metal plates is fine. I temporarily put the nylon plates from my Crazy Skates Evokes on them as an experiment, but there wasn’t enough of a difference in the weight to matter. All-in-all, I feel that even if I’d paid full price for my Moonlight Rollers, they are still a much better value and quality than my skates that cost a lot more. Plus, getting to support a woman-owned business is just the cherry on top! Plus, PLUS, I loved all the stickers and the bath bomb that were included as gifts in my order. I’ll definitely buy another pair of skates from Moonlight Roller again! Sorry for the super wordy comment. I have so much love to share about my skates, but I’m too afraid to make videos about it. 😂 PS - I wish you could see a picture of my Prowlers when they were decorated for the Christmas skate party. They were too cute! You got a new sub, and I can’t wait to watch more of your videos! ✌🏼💜🛼

I was super afraid at first, but am getting more comfortable 😅 Just based on your comment alone, I know I'd be interested in your content for sure. Since skating always made me feel so free and happy back then, I figured it couldn’t hurt to try it out again to help deal with all of the crap life throws at us these days. Girl, when I put my skates on, it’s like all of the world’s problems just disappear. I even do chores around the house in skates, and I take a pair with me to my office so I can skate around at my desk while I’m working on the computer! 😂😂😂😂✌🏼💜🛼

Aww yay~ thank you for the compliment! 😭 I’m glad you find the videos useful! I now mainly use these for rhythm/dance skating outside. I used to use them at the rink too, but I swapped to a stiffer boot there. They’re very versatile though.
i sold my moon boots after about 5 months of owning them. the boot was very comfortable but the plate was not my favorite and all the skate shop people i talked to said it’s a bad idea to swap out the plates on a moon boot. i preferred the moxi lolly in my first year of skating but i recently upgraded to the moxi jack and holy hell those are AMAZING. they’re not very affordable though, so i don’t blame folks for opting for skates that don’t break the bank as much!
Oohhh yeah, I'm a big advocate for finding the skates that are best for you. I have lollys and haven't fallen in love with them, but loved my beach bunnies on the other hand. It's crazy how each detail on a skate can change how we feel about them entirely lol Thanks for bringing up the jacks too because I've been thinking about getting a pair, but wanted to make sure the price tag was worth 😭 so your opinion helps me out!
@@SKTSHT oh yeah the lollys are definitely hit or miss because they have literally zero ankle support😂 i think the jacks are worth while especially because they come in half sizes which is kind of rare for skates!
Yea what were their reasons for saying switching is a bad idea? Cuz on dasiadoesit's "what i wish i knew before..." video, she mentions that she swapped her moon boots' plate for a lighter one (i think it was one of the moxy plates) and she loved her moon boots even more after, no problems as far as she shares in the vid
I want the safety dance reflective Moon Boots. I'm ready based on your recommendation. They hardly have any rollerskates on their site. I want to support our own, but can't if they don't have any.
The safety dance boots were such a cool concept! Unfortunately, they retired them shortly after release due to severe scuffing issues of the material. I’m not sure if they’ll bring them back once they fix the issue, but I really wanted those too. Maybe a week or two ago they put some up online that had some damage to them. Hopefully one day they’ll have more consistent stock, but I guess that means they’re really in demand…which is great but also saddening when you’re trying to get a pair lol

Hey! I'm right foot dominant when I skate and the tongue on my right skate is ALWAYYYSSSS slipping off to the side. I think it just has something to do with the rotation of the ankle!

However, according to a post on their Instagram, the fastest way to contact them about an order is via the direct chat bubble on their website. It says they should respond within 24-48 hours. You might have luck getting into contact with them there and mentioning your order number. Otherwise, it says you can send them a DM on Instagram if you have one with your order number if you haven’t heard anything. I hope the issue is able to be resolved quickly. I don’t wish that kind of uncertainty on anyone.

I was considering purchasing skates from MR several months ago. I'm glad I didn't as they've been out of inventory for a while but were still taking orders. This could be due to the supply chain issues caused by the pandemic. Still an unfortunate situation because overall reviews on the skates were pretty positive.
I would say so. With the standard setup on these, they’re super low maintenance. So you could have them for a long time and not need to change anything. They’re also very soft, which helps avoid the break in period where your feet just hurt like crazy. The only thing that wouldn’t be the best from a beginner’s perspective would be that the boot isn’t very stiff, so they don’t offer the same stability as a vinyl or leather boot…just depends on your preference. But I definitely would say these would be great for beginners.
Loved this video, I’ve been debating on getting their Charmer (snake skin) skates. Was the sizing chart pretty accurate. I wear an 8.5 and I don’t know if I should size up or down.
Thank you! The Charmers look really cool and are so unique! I wear a size 9.5, got a size 8 and they fit perfectly fine. I usually knock the half size off and go based on the full number since the boot should fit more snug than loose. The chart was pretty accurate in my case. I have a friend that was gifted the wrong size and the company was quick about taking back the original pair and shipping the new size fairly soon if you do get them and end up with the wrong size.
For these, there was an Etsy seller that made light strips that you stick to the plates and they just glow,. They're very simple but give off a lot of consistent light, so I really like them. I went back to buy more but they stopped selling them 😭
