0:42 - Maynard James Keenan. And FINALLY! I am super stoked for this one. The Pot is a great first Tool track for any rapper, you'll appreciate all the doubles.
Just a tip from a lifelong metal head: it’s usually good to back up like five seconds if you have to stop. The tile and feel changes are what set it apart from other genres. The groove change will grab you harder.
@@billliberati9840 right. But you listen to a lot of really simple songs with little to no creativity in their composition. That said, you haven’t been listening to heavy music long, and it is different in the way I described from what you’re used to. By all means, listen how you want to. Just thought I’d try to make your experience a little better. No need to be a dickhole about it
DEFINITELY! He paused it (which is awesome… I love watching a reaction where they feel something enough to pause) right before the drop and I was like: GAH! Cuz I knew he wasn’t gonna go back a click. 😆 Great reaction tho. Love watching new Toolfans being born!
BBD! You are in for quite the journey! Tool is the best band ever...been my favorite for almost 25 years! The TOOL ARMY is here for this bro! The best rabbit hole you will ever experience. When a band comes out with an original sound there are usually 100 other bands who sound just like them because they copy their formula. With Tool, even though they have been around since the early 90's, no band sounds like them. They are so good, no one can copy their sound. You will even see, even though Tool has a distinct sound, all of their songs sound different from each other! They are AMAZING live too. The singer, Maynard, is in the back, in the darkness. Never has a spotlight on him. All you can see is his silhouette getting down! All I can say is enjoy the ride! Next song...THE GRUDGE! Very tribal and is about letting your grudges go. The singer even does a 25 second scream that represents letting go of all his grudges! Let's do this! Spiral out! Keep going! 🌀🌀👁
It's all about taste and mood. I love Pantera, Rush, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, TOOL, Sleep Token, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jinjer, Pink Floyd, CheVelle....the list goes on & on. Obviously, I cannot do a music review channel unless I get tortured with R&B, Rap, Country or Pop music. Those genres suck for the most part, a couple of gems, but the best I've ever heard in my life is the beautiful 18-year-old Norwegian barefoot Princess Angelina Jordan. She is the best!
Karnivool, Rishloo, Soen, theyre all bands who sound like Tool, but theyre all derivative of them, Tool started a wave of complex yet catchy prog music and its awesome to see
@@aquaticjay1016 dude you just listed my next 3 favorite bands after Tool...not often you see Rishloo mentioned, such an underrated band! You can tell they were influenced by Tool especially on their Terras Fames album but after that their sound evolved into their own thing.
Tool is close to perfect in so many ways- musical talent, production, engineering...all of it. Maynard's a creative genius. I've been a fan since 93 and they just keep improving themselves. I really recommend the Pneuma drum cam just so you can see how amazing Danny Carey is. And if you want to dive into the meaningful 'make you think' stuff you can't go wrong with Lateralus, Parabola, or Right in Two. Eulogy, Vicarious and the Grudge also 🔥 Personally I think Puscifer is the best showcase for Maynard's vocals. Try Humbling River, Potions, Grand Canyon and Momma Sed (v for versatile version). All beautiful.
I’ve never heard someone refer to tool as “the perfect storm” before, but it really encapsulates them so incredibly well that I’m definitely gonna steal that phrase when recommending tool to people
Tool Army unite! 🌀❤ Tool has been my fav band since ‘94-I was 14 and the first tool song I heard was Sober. I’m 44 now & they are still my fav band. Welcome to the family!
I loved your reaction. This is one of my faves by Tool. I have to say that your personality made my day today. You made me smile, and I love your energy. Stay awesome!
Tool the perfect combination. You're find nothing like them. You been baptized welcome to the Tool army. Music with meaning and knowledge. Remember been a Kid and see the first release video Sober...👌
Tool is a deep rabbit hole. If BBD gets into this there is so much to discover. Tool fans are always ready for new listeners too. Love seeing somebody discover Tool and the rest of Maynard's work too.
The lead singer is Maynard James Keenan. Not only is he the frontman for Tool, A Perfect Circle Pussifer, he alao owns and operates a vinyard and just opened a restaurant
If you're referring to the one where the guy cries on the plants in the field and the massive snail, I believe that is an unofficial video. Don't get me wrong, it is awesome.
Laterals, 46&2, Vicarious, The Grudge, Pneuma, Parabola, Sober, Schism, Stinkfist, Jambi. You listen to those songs, and you'll realize the greatness of TOOL. The best part is, there isn't a single bad song on any of their albums.
Keep listening to this band. They will literally take you on a trip. You finna fall in love and get ya tool cherry popped like it aint never been popped before.
Maynard James Keenan- Vocals (to answer your question, my guy) Favorite band of all time. I bought their first album ‘Opiate’ the day it came out and have grown up through the years (along with so many other great bands/songs/musicians as well obviously) and I love this reaction and kudos to whomever offered this request and to you for the reaction. Love it. 🎯 I feel like you might also enjoy the song “The Package”, or “The Noose” by ‘A Perfect Circle’. I would love to see you react to the song “Opiate”, personally, but I know there’s many before my request and I love it. Side note; to take back to the old days and roots of what NOBODY reacts to in general, I’d love to see you react to… -Atmosphere “Scapegoat” -Aesop Rock “Prosperity” -Brother Ali “Star Quality” -Pep Love “Ascension” I’ll stop for now but thank you and well done. Don’t sleep on the new Marlon Craft/feat. Method Man “Muggsy Bogues”💎
I listened to Tool so much 20 years ago I took a long break from them and now I love them more than ever. A Perfect Circle is also great music. It's a tad less heavier, more melodic, but still unique like Tool is.
I subbed just for you reacting to TOOL. I’d love to see you react to Right In Two. Talk about a song with great lyrics and a slow build up song. Keep it going with Tool and I’ll keep watching you.
YAY Tool 🖤🖤Another of my fave artists. The whole LaterAlus album is pure fire. You must do Sober by Tool as well. Great reaction my man🔥🔥 Puscifer is Awesome!!! Please react to Potions by them... the Trent Reznor Maynard James Keenan - Potions version
Bro your greatest reaction was when you heard and saw Aesop Rock for the first time. That reaction was funny. You were like "wait, that's him! No is that really him rapping like that? I thought that was somebody's dad looking to smoke a Marlboro" Something like that. Keep up the good reactions
I can remember when tool came out, back in my early twenties and I just avoided them and I don't know why. I have listened to close to 30 reviews of this song and I'm kicking my ass for never looking into them before this...
When you find out Danny Justin and Adam write the music first then give it to Maynard and he creates vocals and lyrics after the music is composed blows my mind. Tool has music for each mood. They are all masters at their crafts. Keep it up you should check out "The Patient" good starter to see maynards range and passion.
Welcome 👊 you should try parabol and porabola. It’s 2,different songs, but consider parabol as an intro. You have to find them together as they are on the album, not as 2 separate songs 😎
13:44. TOOL is an experience, every song has meaning, depth, and Sonic genius, the lyrics can get intricate and the videos are completely amazing (but listen to some more music before watching the videos)I'm really glad ur trying them out, im 45 and they are my favorite band, been listening since the 90's as well, try "Invincible" for that production value ur looking for, it's off their newest album(2019)
Maynard James Keenan, and if you listened to Passenger by Deftones their lead singer is Mr. Chino Moreno 🤘😎🤘. You should also check out Maynard's other band A Perfect Circle and the song Judith.
I saw someone do a breakdown on how one of their albums is an allegory for the levels of consciousness, or something to that effect . It was definitely done deliberately. Pretty neat stuff.
2006. If music died that year we'd be ok bcuz we got 10,000 Days. Great reaction. My pick for the next one would be Sober, live. Or for another diss track, Eulogy. Maynard nails the coffin shut. And yes, we all know audio/mix today is better than it was a minute ago😆
The best songs of Tool imo are their deep cuts. “H”, “The Patient”, “No Quarter, “Right in Two”, “Jimmy”, “Eulogy”, “Rosetta Stoned”, “Pushit” and “Third Eye” would be my picks for your next video!!
Yo bro may have been said, maybe not BUT highly recommend watching videos with lyrics and about the mix with tool. It’s intentionally done so one instrument doesn’t overpower the other and that includes Maynard’s voice. It’s difficult to normalize the drummer as you will learn, he is basically considered to be on the Mount Rushmore of drummers. He is sick. Watch the drum cam for Pneuma Oh and you might as well start a separate playlist for Tool reactions, it’s common knowledge that the last tool song you listened to is your favorite tool song 😂
Vicarious would be a great next Tool track to react to. Off this same album with a similar energy level and similarly interesting lyrics. I think you'll dig it!
I believe it's pronounced like "enema". He does weird shizz like that. lol Stinkfist is actually a beautiful song. I've been a fan since the 90's and saw them live at Lollapalooza '97 with my mom. lol

James Herbert Keenan, Maynard is an artistic-name he adopted from a character in M.A.S.H.
🎯 When I met him in the 90's he told me to call him Jim.🤘

Tool has somewhat of a Pink Floyd vibe.
Tool has been my favorite band since the 90s. They are the best band I've ever heard also.
fan since 92, best live show I have ever seen. once in a generation band for sure.
I saw them in 1998 with 70 thousand people. they sounded flawless.
