The singers name is Maynard James Keenan, he have two other music projects you must check out! It's A Perfect Circle and Puscifer, love all his Projects 👌
Here’s my reaction to all of his bands! Tool - Sober Live | A Perfect Circle - Judith | Puscifer - The Humbling River ruclips.net/video/9aCPGlwyeGI/видео.html
Just got home from seeing them live, had to come home and get more serotonin from watching others experience it for the first time. Pure. Bliss. Spiral out!!!!
Not an easy band to get into. They’ve been around since 1991. Glad to see you enjoying it. Everything they’ve ever released, which is very limited considering how long they’ve been around, is highly, highly recommended. Wait till you see them live 🤘
I like the comment about "actively vs passive listening. They sounded great in my car in high school in the 90s, listening passively, but they are on tour now in 2024 and since 2019 I've actively listened to the lyrics and the other 3 members. Now, they are the best band of all time with me. We all can relate to every song in some way. Thanks!
The guitarist Adam Jones made the Sober video. He used to work in Hollywood as a FX makeups artist. As for a suggestion "Forty-six & 2" and there might still be a lyric/explanation video still available

There are so many videos that distract from the song, and videos are not usually by the musicians. Developing a sense of separation between the videos (made, mostly, by filmmakers) and the songs elevates a reaction, for sure.
TOOL is completely in a league of their own, "Sober" came out in 92(I believe) the guitarist(Adam Jones)made a handful of their "official videos" cause he was in Hoywood special effects, every TOOL song has deep lyrics and the few videos they have can distract from the song if ur not careful, but dig in and "Spiral Out" man(keep up TOOL reactions and ull know what it means
They only have a handful of albums. They perfect the music once every five to thirteen years and then send it to Maynard and he adds the lyrics. That why his singing is like an additional instrument. If you deep dive Tool ( and maybe Ren) you’ll end up picking up a ton of subscribers lol ( I’ve seen it happen for a lot of rectors that you are way better than) nice reactions today 👍( gonna go check out the Rush one now lol)
He starts reacting to what’s popular and just goes off that, he’s gonna have a comment section full of people just suggesting music. No actual comments, discussion or community
The cat dancing got me 🤣🤣🤣👌 reaction was spot on BTW. My favorite band. Not one bad song in the collection. Can't go wrong with anything you pick next 🤘😎

Dropping 2 Tool songs AND bringing in the kitty?! not fair! Can't hit that thumbs up hard enough! Also yeah, you hit that rhythm.. for about 30 seconds. Which is all you get with Tool before Danny Carry drops into some other time signature. The Octopus isn't built like we are, so us mortals can't keep up.
Their S-Suite IMHO - Pushit, Right In Two, and Descending. You also can't go wrong with any of the full-length songs on Aenima, still IMHO their best album and the one where they were getting ready to transition more into prog.
The pot, a song about hypocrisy around the justice system with how people feel about drug use, specifically pot, also hypocrisy because the pot calling the kettle black
At first, I forgot that I had already subscribed and was like "oh really? I don't remember doing that" - then I saw the cat and went "ah yes I followed because we stan cat dads" 🤣 so glad I subbed the first time, because this was great 🤙
Tool never appeared in their videos and didn't take pictures when they first came out. Maynard usually performed in make up. I believe he didn't want fame.
Consider checking out these TOOL songs: The Grudge Parabol/Parabola (2 tracks that function as 1 track) 46&Two AEnema Lateralus I loved your reaction! You pull great faces. I think that’s what TOOL fans like myself hope to see in a reaction. Spiral out 🌀
First-time Tool reaction? Nailed it. Don't expect anyone to answer everything. Ever. Great when you can just vibe with it. But with the off-time sigs and polyrhythms, some people can’t. Then yeah, when you hit the lyrics, it hits again at another level. I get a sarcastic humor off the surface The Pot. Personifying addiction in Sober. (Music videos aren’t 1:1 with the songs. They’re pretty cool. But not complementary, abstract. Don’t sleep on the drummer, Danny Carey. He’s kinda a big deal. Not too many suggest "Eulogy" early on, but it sure pulled me in. The track builds, brings you in. The story is fire. “Angry” Maynard sneering in praise at his best.
Tool is amazing, but if you love Maynard's voice you should definitely check out Puscifer. Humbling River, Potions, Momma Sed - a different but excellent vibe.
TOOL are a cult band not very well known normally but still with a huge and extremely loyal fanbase (the TOOL Army) just think that in 2019 they released their latest album after 13 years of absolute silence. Any musician's career would have suffered from this, but instead they ousted Taylor Swift from the top spot on the charts from day one.
Bravo Tina !! Elle est absolument incroyable ! Thanks for reacting to this! Check her cover of Jason Becker’s « Altitudes », i ve nearly, i really was actually lol, tears listening to it. Im a 49 yo guitarist playing for more than 35 y
Hypocrisy of the war on drugs. "Rob the grave to snow the cradle." Reference ro the Iran Contra affair and the government's involvement in the crack epidemic. "Liar lawyer what's the difference and multiple references ro kangaroo courts. "Ganja Puleeze!" Calling out marijuana being listed as a schedule one dangerus drug.
The pot. The singer says that the other guy pissed on his black kettle. If the black kettle is the singer then the pot is the other guy. The saying. " the pot calling the kettle black" the song is about hypocrisy.
Not sure if anyone else has recommended this but if you like the vocal scream from Maynard in The Pot, you have to react to The Grudge!!! But as others have said, please react first time to the lyric only video - their videos are laden with artistic special effects that can take away from a genuine reaction (distraction).
Greatest band ever, but please just watch lyric videos for a first time reaction. Adam the guitarist, was a special effects artist in Hollywood before the band hit big. He worked on such hits as jurassic Park and terminator 2. He makes all their official videos and they rarely have to do with the song. Spiral out young man and enjoy the ride. 🌀☝️🇺🇲🤘
The pot calling the kettle black is a hypocritical statement this song is kinda based in. Its thinking your better when you are jus the same as snyone rkse about lying to ithers and yourself. He applies it it different ways as to lawyers and gov. etc... it's truly a deep song lyricslly. Dude totally enjoyed and cute kitty lol
Tool are weak AF. Check some REAL bands like Gel from NJ or Scowl from Santa Cruz or the alt-rock sensation, Speed Of Light who are all siblings under 21
They have polyrythmic time signatures. It's an adventure on every song. They have one based on tge fibernachi sequence. Puck a song, and find and amazing listening experience.
Awesome reaction. New subscriber incoming! I'd love to hear more tool from you. 😊

I agree, for a reaction the music is dynamic enough. Don't really need the visuals.
Tool's time signatures are like doctors signatures; can't read 'em
The "pot" is a reference to the phrase "the pot calling the kettle black".
Whole song is about hypocrisy 👍🏼
What’s the time signature? Yes. All of them. 😂
They have no bad songs that's the truth! My band since 93 can't love them enough❣️❤

Maynard,(well the whole band) is still rocking it live. Saw them just this last Wednesday in concert.
Fun fact: Adam Jones the guitarist for Tool was college roommates with Tom Morelli the guitarist for Rage Against the Machine. ☮️
Tom Morello. Damn autocorrect

It's best if you dont watch the videos. They distract from the music. I recommend lyric videos. Just a tip

Sober should be seen live also. The sound quality is somewhat off but the visual is awesome.

If you dig odd time signatures... Just keep spiraling out with these guys. You won't be disappointed!
No need to research, just listen for now, everything will reveal itself to you in the end and it's a much more enjoyable experience that way.
On behalf of the TOOL army, welcome aboard to you as well as your cat
Thanks! 🐈
The song The Pot not only is referring to weed, but it's mainly pointing to hypocrisy or in other words "The pot calling the kettle black"

Polyrhythmic structure is why it “feels” offbeat but isnt.
