I’m late and it’s likely been covered, but the easiest way to interpret the rhythm for me is to count 3 and count 5 for the bulk of the song. This still gives you 8 counts (4+4) which is why you feel like you can bob your head to it but not sway side to side to it. You’re right, there’s a side-step you gotta do 🤘🏼

It was amazing as always!! Even better than last year. They NEVER let me down. I even ran into Danny Carey before the show sneaking in the back stage entrance!!! Big boy!!❤️
I was there too! Fabulous as always. That's awesome you got to meet Danny!
Next one from Tool need to be '' Vicarious'' but with the official clip ... Because the visual is just so awesome‼
No visuals, he’s gonna try and link the meaning of the song to what he sees and that’s not gonna fly well
Lol the look on your face toward around 12:20 is exactly how I feel listening to Tool most times. It's the expression of oh man, this really is making me think. Tool is just one of those bands who will get your gears turning.
Maynard (lead singer) has been on the Joe Rogan show maybe check it out. Tool tells stories.
Drums and the rest of the band are on different time signatures, which occasionally come together at certain moments. That’s why you fight with yourself trying to catch the beat.
They use polyrhythms and such in most of their deeper tracks, and even on their hits. My two favorites are “H.” and “Aenima”.
I'm glad someone suggested this band to you. If you like this song, I think you're really going to love Tool. It only gets better from here..and it never stops! I'm here for it. Spiral out! Tool army is here❤
Their art is indeed DMT inspired artwork. I've done it one time. Fantastic experience, I recommend it to everyone.
Most of the art that people associate with Tool is Alex Gray's art.
Adam though did special effects for the movie industry. Jurassic Park and some other things iirc.
The Art in alot of their music videos is his. Claymation type stuff very cool in its own way.
@@6ic6ic6ic Alex has talked a lot about how DMT and LSD inpired hit artwork and spoke about it in DMT the spirit molecule book. His artwork is spot on for that experience its pretty wildly accurate
It’s in 4/4 or 3/4 generally.. Danny just f’s with subdivisions and plays over the barline to make sure you normies are uncertain of the one. 😊
Alex Grey is a cool artist who did some of their artwork.
Been following for a year. Discovered you & REN @ the same time. I've thoroughly enjoyed the ride, but you know what? Can you hear that? That's the incoming stampede of the TOOL Army. Your subs are about to go through the roof. 🤘🤘🤘
3 recommendations if you continue a TOOL spiral
1- headphones (good ones)
2- Do NOT use their actual videos
3- Lookup "TOOL w/lyrics + (song)
Thanks for reacting to more Tool . You should react to more with Andy roo
DEM POLYRHYTHMS!
Welcome to the rabbit hole, prepare for THE ride... I really recomend for the next one Parabol+Parabola (together) or Fortysix & 2, then Lateralus... turst me, from another 40 year old... ahh, and I really recommend using headphone for Tool.
@BlackPegasusRaps Yes! It's about that hypocritical pot your mom referred to, the ones who sent ppl to vicious jail sentences for POT are guilty of much worse offenses let alone drug-related ones. I'm pretty sure it is the same 4/4 timing your hip-hop metronome ticks to, but it's hard to track because it's syncopated. I'm a big fan of your show and a big fan of your way Black Peg.
