Lol you guys are about to be FLOODED with requests for Tool songs. 100% guaranteed. They've always been in my top 3 so I'm subscribing. It's always so fascinating to see a musicians take on this band. Great react guys. Keep it up.
1. Lyrically, Tool is a top tier band, but honestly, you probably shouldn't even bother too much trying to figure it out or pay attention on the first listen. They can get pretty deep, and it's rare to catch it on the first time (especially on 46 & 2). I'd say this is the one band that you can actually read the lyrics and song meaning in advance and be just fine. The music is what really matters the most. 2. For reaction videos (ESPECIALLY with Tool), every time you pause the music, you should always rewind about 5-10 seconds when you restart. In this song/video, you completely lose the vibe each time you interrupt/pause and then restart.
Yeah I agree and I would suggest you Don't clap with the song either it's annoying to your listeners and disrespects the band, just listen and figure out time signatures after. Tool is a very cerebral band with deep meaning in their songs. You have to listen multiple times to really start figuring out all the mechanics in their songs.
@@shanemason4031 Yeah, the time signature obsession is always a little odd for me. Yes, Tool has odd time signatures, but if someone is paying attention to that then they are absolutely missing far more important things going on at that moment. To each their own, though.

I can tell you guys are smart as hell and have a real appreciation for the music. Keep it up gents, 10/10 and subscribed!
I hope you guys enjoy more Tool. Their lyrics are incredibly deep but in a different way or subject than Rage is. You won't ever find a consistent head bob or beat, they change it up constantly. Listen to Pneuma, Laterauls, Push It, Right in Two, Schism. All Tool songs are incredible
One of my favorite reactions you guys have done so far. I’m biased since they’re my favorite band, but I think one reason I really love this video is that you guys captured in real time your experience through the song’s journey perfectly. One of my favorite aspects of Tool songs is that each song is great and continuously building and adding layers to create a ‘journey’. You guys paused and provided commentary on that aspect perfectly. Nice job 👍
Just stumbled across you guys tonight. I'm 3 videos in. So far they've all been Tool reactions 🤷🏾♂️. Really interested in checking out your guys content. Great content.
Tool is definitely next level. The creativity in this band is crazy. Listening to Tool in the dark is the closest I get to meditation. I love going along for the ride, and just get lot in it.
Subbed for more Tool. They are on a different level. You will discover something new in each subsequent listen. Keep it up. It’s nice to live vicariously through other people listening to Tool for the first time.
At 5:50 you are absolutely right about not being able to grab it all. There is alot to unpack in tool's music as well as maynard's lyrics. As a musician myself I also tend to focus on music before lyrics and typically take a few listens before I feel like I have full rounded analyisis of a song. Great video guys I look forwad to seeing more of your reactions!
14:42 “You’re gonna be angry with me...” thought he was gonna say something he didn’t like about the song, but then the silence.... and I just busted out laughing cuz I knew he was trolling his buddy and was gonna say it wasn’t recording. He didn’t even have to say it and you could see the defeat on his friends face 😂😂😂 I’ve done that while filming before; shit’s hilarious
first playthroughs for tool songs, i would just go on the journey... then you can look at lyrics etc... but the first time.. just lie down and enjoy it!
Just go ahead and start from the first album, and listen to all of Tool. Every single song is worth spending some time with.... especially with this kind of focus. Agree that lyrics are key to seeing the whole picture being painted.
This is the first time I’ve ever watched a reaction and get sucked in that hard so fast. They way you two break this shit down, and just fucking enjoy the music so in depth is worthy of appreciation. I’ve never seen you until this but I’m a fan!

I absolutely love the set up of all of this. Great authentic energy from you both. You break down the songs really well too. Very happy to subscribe to this. Thank you 🙏🏻
Thanks josh Brickley 👊
I was enjoying your video and had decided to subscribe but the pain in those no’s at the end caused me to hit the notification bell. That was hilarious and gut wrenching at the same time.
Love seeing real musicians discover Tool. Great reaction and I'll look forward to more. Soak it in first, then dive deeper, you will keep discovering more lyrically, time signatures and insane playing!
This is actually one of the few Tool songs where Maynards voice is a little more up front in the mix lol
Tool is fricking awesome! "Forty Six & 2" is my favorite song. But "Sober" is another awesome song too! They have so many truly amazing songs. Maynard's voice just touches me deep in my soul. Just can't get enough!🌹
Don't usually subscribe to these reaction channels, but you guys clearly know your shit and are just a joy to watch! Loving the flappy hand kick pedaling too!
Y’all should check out Tool song called “Vicarious”, off the the same album as this one. It’s some of my favorite drumming off any rock track ever. Like this but even more so.
Gotta say, really love the analysis by you two gents. Fun personalities, insightful and in-depth coverage of not just the song but each instrument as a whole including the editing/mixing of the song.
Nice job 👍
You are very correct with a “jungle beat”. The drummer has stated his drumming is based in African tribal music. Good call.
One of the best reaction videos I have watched. Just the appreciation and enjoyment was worth the watch. Thanks guys.
Your voice audio sounded totally fine , great reaction
Got my sub, thanks for putting in work guys!
Thank you man, Glad you like the content, more on its way
TOOL is another level. Artists of the highest level.
Subbed for more Tool. They are on a different level. You will discover something new in each subsequent listen. Keep it up. It’s nice to live vicariously through other people listening to Tool for the first time.
They are all master musicians in this band. Incredible
Instant new fan. I can’t wait to watch your future reactions
If you guys rock with TOOL after hearing this, y’all need to check out the Danny Carey DrumCam version of Pneuma. It will blow your mind no cap.
It was a hell of a lot of fun to see you guys get schooled. Keep it up brothers. Peace and Love. :)
Great reaction. Going down the rabbit hole of Tool. They are phenomenal musicians.
Great reaction guys! More TOOL please. 🙏🖤🤘
14:42 “You’re gonna be angry with me...” thought he was gonna say something he didn’t like about the song, but then the silence.... and I just busted out laughing cuz I knew he was trolling his buddy and was gonna say it wasn’t recording. He didn’t even have to say it and you could see the defeat on his friends face 😂😂😂 I’ve done that while filming before; shit’s hilarious
enjoyed watching you guys opening your interests to music I enjoy.
first playthroughs for tool songs, i would just go on the journey... then you can look at lyrics etc... but the first time.. just lie down and enjoy it!
Bahaaaaaa TOOL Army here, that was such a fun reaction to watch, you guys are fantastic. I subscribed 💜✨
Keep the Tool coming! There is no other band like them.
I watch you from cd juarez México, it's satisfying to see people that really enjoy the music just like my and know what is talking about
Just go ahead and start from the first album, and listen to all of Tool. Every single song is worth spending some time with.... especially with this kind of focus. Agree that lyrics are key to seeing the whole picture being painted.
As someone new here, I didn't realize you didn't record your mics. Everything sounded fine and I loved the video! Hope to see more Tool reactions 😁
Great reaction fellas. You guys would go nuts for “Right in Two” from the same album. Enjoy the ride!
Gotta do Intension with it. That song is overlooked.
Subbed because I loved this reaction!! Please do more and welcome to the TOOL rabithole!
"What time signature is this?"
Tool: "Yes"
This is the first time I’ve ever watched a reaction and get sucked in that hard so fast. They way you two break this shit down, and just fucking enjoy the music so in depth is worthy of appreciation. I’ve never seen you until this but I’m a fan!
I loved y'all's reaction! Please check out Pneuma from their 2019 latest album. Then immediately watch Danny's live drumcam during a concert performance of Pneuma...or watch the live one first, whichever 😊.
Where can I hear these two legends music?
Congratulations on your discovery! Enjoy the journey that is Tool. Keep in mind that they are basically their own genre. Throw any and all expectations out the door! Avoid the music videos and YES! Have lyrics handy!
it is so refreshing to see people experience music they wouldn't normally listen to. Thanks y'all. They have some more amazing stuff. Love your content. God bless.
No lyric video for tool, audio only.. its already a lot to take in on 1st listen. lyrics can be looked at on 2nd go around
Uncle acid pulled me out of the "I've heard everything " bubble. Been a tool guy for 30 years.
Danny Carey is widely considered as one of the best drummers of all time.
Not considered he is the Goat
@@michaelbarber7792 he’s top 5 for sure. Ginger Baker, Bonzo, Gene Crooper, Buddy Rich are all up there with him.
