I recommend going somewhat chronologically, and bearing in mind that the albums were written with continuity to be heard start to finish. Listened to this track too many times to count, and I still remember that first time hearing it, while hurtling down the desert highway on our way out to Joshua Tree. The exhilaration of it all, like white knuckling a roller coaster, from beginning to end. And gotta say, had that same hair standing up on the back of the neck feeling watching the three of you lighting up, leaning in and using at the seams with joy throughout your listen.
When this song plays, the hairs on my arms stand up and a shiver goes down my spine. Real reaction and I have heard this song many many times. Just brilliant musicians. This is a bass/percussion fronted band, not lead guitar.

I've been Tool Army since high school in early to mid '90s. May I suggest their song Right in Two. They are also a great band to see live. I was lucky to watch them with Primus. Two of my favorite bands.
Saw them for the first time in ‘93 in New Orleans. Been listening to them ever since. By far and away the best complete band ever. All 4 members are masters and geniuses of their instrument.
I was there as well! Got free tickets and found a $20 on the sidewalk before I got it. Maynard hung over the crowd like a vulture and holy crap it was a good show.
They have so many styles of music through the years. Very heavy to lighter but all beautiful, deep multiple meaning and musical mastery, you may not like all but all songs are well put together. Enjoy the experience

Always cool seeing old heads taking their well earned knowledge and crafted opinions they’ve developed over years dissecting a couple of specific genres and applying that experience to others. Because it definitely translates even if a strong vocabulary hasn’t been developed yet. It’s a lot of fun watching you guys break down what these tracks mean to you and how they move you. Sober and The Pot are solid Tool tracks and are definitely more of their more accessible selections, though The Pot does have the boast of being on of the few rock songs with a bonafide bass solo in it. You guys are ready to go a bit deeper and weirder into their catalog. Keep going.

Always cool seeing old heads taking their well earned knowledge and crafted opinions they’ve developed over years dissecting a couple of specific genres and applying that experience to others. Because it definitely translates even if a strong vocabulary hasn’t been developed yet. It’s a lot of fun watching you guys break down what these tracks mean to you and how they move you.
Sober and The Pot are solid Tool tracks and are definitely more of their more accessible selections, though The Pot does have the boast of being on of the few rock songs with a bonafide bass solo in it. You guys are ready to go a bit deeper and weirder into their catalog.
