Watching people get their mind blown by Tool is so fun....he was like is that two drops in one...I thought buckle up Dorothy cause Kansas is goin bye bye.
truer words were never said.
It is! Reminds me of my own reaction when I first heard them...
LOVE IT!!!!!!
It’s a guitar, bass guitar drums and the singer. That’s it. 4 ppl at the top of their game.
Here we go… 🌀 🌀 🌀 they’re coming….i can hear em on the March.
Tool army reporting for duty! Spiral out, sir!
Rise!
Tool Army reporting in!
Master level musicians who've been at it for 30+ years yet invisible to an entire generation because their music wasn't on streaming services until a handful of years ago. Welcome and enjoy the ride.
You’re a Tool fan now. Deal with it. Tool will blow up your channel. I’m here for it.
MJK(Maynard James Keenan)is the singer in TOOL however he considers his voice as just another instrument in the band, Danny Carey(drummer)is known as"The human Octopus, Justin Chqncellor is the bassist and Adam Jones is the guitarist, he also does their official videos....
Enjog the greatest band of our time, they use ALOT of polyrhythms, intense lhrics and mind bending riffs and breakdowns.......i would recommend lyri. Videos for starters but go down the rabbit hole, you will not be disappointed! TOOL army unite
Here for TOOL! Greatest band ever. Not a single bad song.
Tool is the best band of my lifetime! 30+ year fan and no one compares. Get ready for the ride. Just start from the beginning. Spiral out.
U just experienced the greatest band of all time. Welcome aboard. Enjoy the ride. Spiral out. Keep going.
Tool really is one of the greatest bands of our time, you can't go wrong with any of their music, frankly.
Yup
“Am I trippin?” is the correct answer, brother.
TOOL's the GOAT 🤘🏼👁🌀🌀🌀
Once you hear Tool, you can't go back. Welcome to Tool Army bro!
The song is about hypocrisy...."the pot" calling the kettle black. You are absolutely right... it's a masterpiece.
If you’ve heard the saying about the pot calling the kettle black, it’s about hypocrisy in the same way.. he’s saying don’t point your finger at me when you have mud in your eye (basically you’ve done wrong too)
Enjoy hearing more tool
I'm addicted to reactions of things I love, because you get to remember how the first time felt, and enjoy the experience vicariously all over again, without your own jaded faded perception shitting all over the moment. This was wonderful.
The idea behind the song is, “You must have gone insane, or been high, or something to even think that was an okay way to speak to someone, especially given all your skeletons. Maybe sit this one out.”
And I love it.
Tool is so good. Descending is such a banger. But all their stuff is.
The pot calling the kettle black. That's the theme.
I’ve been a Tool fan since 93 & I really enjoy watching people discover them
& get it
Welcome to the Army. The Tool Army. Enjoy the ride my man.
FUN FACT: About the guitarist Adam Jones:
Jones was offered a film scholarship but declined and chose to move to Los Angeles to study art and sculpture. His interest shifted to film, and he began to work as a sculptor and special effects designer, where he learned the stop motion camera techniques he would later apply in Tool's music videos, such as "Sober", "Prison Sex", "Stinkfist", "Ænema", "Schism", "Parabola", and "Vicarious". He graduated in 1987.
After graduation, he went to work at Rick Lazzarini's Character Shop. During the next two years, he worked on the TV show Monsters. He designed and fabricated a Grim Reaper makeup and a zombie head on a spike (later used in Ghostbusters II) among others. After that, he went to Stan Winston's special effects workshop, where he worked on Predator 2, sculpting a unique-looking skull for the Predator's spaceship interior.[5]
Jones worked on several other films in Hollywood doing makeup and set design, including Jurassic Park, Batman Returns, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Dances with Wolves, and Ghostbusters II. He did the "Freddy Krueger in the womb" makeup for A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child, as well as work for A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master.
He also worked on commercials for salad dressing (never aired), Olympic Paints & Stains (Albert Einstein makeup), and Duracell (boxers and taxicabs).
yea the 4 people thing is crazy.
Welcome to the Tool Army! Spiral Out 🌀🤘 Check out 46&2 next!
Maynard (the singer) considers his voice an instrument and all instruments are equal in his band. That's why he rarely takes center stage in concert.
Welcome to the TOOL army my man. Get ready for a journey. Not to mention, reacting to tool will blow up your channel. You've had your introduction, now react to any of the following for another glimpse: 46&2, Stinkfist, Vicarious, or Sober. Don't delve into Lateralus or Parabola/Parabol just yet. You need to work up to those. 🤘
Solid advice 😊
I actually agree. He won’t get the most of the experience until he gets experienced with the TOOL delivery. It’s a lot different than anything most people have heard, that’s why we love it
Oooo im so glad you liked it!!! 👍
Checking in ♾️🌀♾️
Ready for more Tool? Do Vicarious! It kicks ass!
Welcome to the army good sir. Glad to have a new member. Can't wait to watch you go through what we've all been through. Spiral out
This is just the opener to your journey of sonic sound. Never do official videos for first listen. They are like mini psychedelic movies only to be watched after several listens. Lyrics are a must, they are half the experience. There are a few great live performances we will guide you to. Enjoy :)
Tool is just as if Jimi Hendrix and King Crimson had a child.
This is an incredible band, the writing is miles above most. Always deep messages and intricate instrumentals, not to mention composition overall
'Lemon juice up in your eye' = you are blind
'Your chosen indigo' = the rich you choose to lead you
And it blew up in your face
All I can say is buckle up an grab you a cold one ,its going to be a long journey!..😂🤘
Awesome reaction!..👍
The 3 guys playing instruments write their parts and perfect them and then pass the arrangement to Maynard who writes AROUND the instruments, not TO them. Makes him another instrument. Also puts a lot of what you hear into perspective. Welcome to the Army! Spiral out. Keep going! 🌀🌀🌀
Welcome aboard new recruit. Tool is a journey, my friend... spiral out
If you’re open to mind-blowing music, dive in. Nothing’s the same. The Pot is one of Tool’s more straightforward songs. They’ve got tracks that leave me physically/mentally exhausted even after 30 years. Get used to the phrase, polyrhythms Buckle up… Spiral out!
I just subscribed to you after watching a couple Pink Floyds, then Tool. Awesome. I loved watching the confusion on your face first time listening to Tool, that means you get it. Basically Tool and Pink Floyd are the same band 30 years apart. Thank you for your honest reaction. Lyrics next!!
Welcome to Tool bro. The Pot is the perfect first song by them. Get ready and keep an open mind. Shit can be life changing
Tool uses vocals to complement the instruments and vice-versa
YOU DONE WENT AND DONE IT NOW......THEY HAVE QUITE A RABBIT HOLE. 🔥👍
Spiral out!
Welcome to the marvelous rabbit hole that is Tool.
Now you're trapped in here with the rest of us XD
This is my first Tool song. Ever. I never even heard of them until I started watching reaction channels and several of my favorite reactors Love Tool. But I hadn't listened to anything yet because I didn't know where to begin. Until tonight, I just decided to go for it. Now I'm going to shut up and listen to the rest of it...
Edit: Well, it's not difficult to put Tool into the heavy metal category. Frankly, I'm a Deadhead at heart. And my album and CD racks are filled with the Grateful Dead, YES, Kansas, Electric Light Orchestra, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Supertramp, Emerson Lake and Palmer, The Alan Parsons Project, the Moody Blues, Joe Walsh, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Hendrix, Lynard Skynard, CCR, the Allman Brothers Band, Buddy Guy, B B King, Traffic, the Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan, Foreigner....Big Twist and the Mellow Fellows, Paul Cebar & the Milwaukeeans...the list goes on and on and on and on.....Damn I'm old, but I grew up with the greatest era of music ever!
However, I was never into real heavy metal - AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Twisted Sister, Megadeath, even Van Halen or KISS. However, after experiencing my first Tool, I really do like the richness and depth of their instrumentation. For only four band members they have a very big sound. I was impressed. I want more. Any suggestions as to what I should listen to next?
Start with sober and stinkfist.
Then 46&2, lost keys and Rosetta stoned, they need to be heard together so be careful. The grudge is awesome. Make sure to watch Danny Carey drum cam on pneuma live, it's a life changing song and video.
TOOL ARMY
For instruments only. Bass drums, guitar and vocals. Welcome to the new beginning of how you listen to music. 🌀🌀🌀
checkin in...
Next should be the song Sober live in 93 video, it's the song that got them started. Also, it's recommended that you do lyrics video or audio, because their videos can be distracting from the message of the song. Their process of making music is Adam Jones (guitarist) is also the creator of the album and video art. Then Danny Carey (drummer.nicknamed the octopus because he plays like he has 8 arms, consider one of the goats in the industry. Then there's Justin Chancellor (bassist) who replaced Paul Damor who left the band after their first 2 albums. These 3 Adam Justin and Danny make the music first then Maynard James Keenan the (Vocalist and lyrics writer) gets it, listens to it to feel what the music is saying and then writes the lyrics. That's why wait do their videos later. Cause Maynard might have a different interpretation with the lyrics and Adam the video creator might bring a different angle to the music.
Yep, you got "stank face" ...Tool does it constantly. Enjoy the journey
Yes, you are tripping 😁…youll want to do it again. We’re here to see it happen.
Tool Army, reporting in! 🫡
Third Eye by Tool, almost 16 minutes
#toolarmy for the algorithm good reaction my brother
In "The Grudge" Maynard holds a 25 second scream.
No spoilers!
🌀
The pot is a double entendre. The pot calling the kettle black is an adage to describe hypocrisy. He says when you piss all over my black kettle, you must have been high. Being on the pot while calling out the hypocrisy that the pot has the nerve to call the kettle black
Saw Tool, subbed for more. Welcome to the journey.
🌀👽🌀
You caught the beat! Whew, You had me worried LOLOLOL I'm just kidding.
Dig deeper into Tool. You can't go wrong.
Much love Lisa!! hope you enjoyed!! 💯
Welcome to the Army, one big Family.
It's a lot to do with being hypocritical also about being high 🙃
IMO this song really has nothing to do with Weed. People just assume it is because of the provocative name. This song is, at it's core, a rage letter against hypocrisy in society. It is a great "intro" song for tool, as every song they make sounds like Tool, but they are not the same at all and The Pot has a really strong bass hook at the start to ease you in before they open up more fully and then it has the chill out section before build back up again. Welcome to the wonderful world of Tool.
Sargent Karl reporting for duty!
Also Danny Carey at the Baked Potato jazz club is good too. Same drummer
Check out Danny Carey’s drum cam! he is the drummer but it gives you a crazy insight to how complicated their songs can be and how talented they all are
Go on down the hole my man.
It's an incredible song, but the underlying message is the old adage of "the pot calling the kettle black" ... It stems from a judge sentencing Danny Carey, the drummer to 45 days in jail for simple possession of marijuana, but the judge that sentenced him was also arrested for possession of marijuana and didn't get charged!!! Listen to the lyrics again and it'll make sense...
🤘🤘
The theme of the song is, obviously, about hypocrisy. It was inspired by one of Maynard's (the singer) friends being arrested for marijuana possession or growing marijuana (ive heard different stories). The judge handed down a pretty hard sentence, which he was infamous for doing for marijuana offenses in his courtroom. However, it came to light later down the road that the judge was a drug addict himself and was arrested for possession of cocaine or methamphetamine (again, ive heard differing stories).
So the overwhelming hypocrisy of this one judge inspired Maynard to write the incredible lyrics for this banger of a song.
🔥🔥🔥
His channel about to blow da fuck up
Much love!! 💯💯
Buckle up
Tool is an E ticket ride and not for the faint of hart.
I promise when you get to other side you won't be the same
Lateralus next please.
Just a four-piece; vocalist, guitar, bass and drums. But some of the best
If you like this, check out Maynards other bands A Perfect Circle and Puscifer
Subscribed for more Tool! Spiral out my friend!
Not like Tool, but has some fun unexpected things -
Look up the band Maximum the Hormone. The song is Koi No Mega Lover.
Japanese band. Find the music video, looks like a party in the first bit - just give it a 40 seconds.
Please check out Rage Against the Machine “Bulls on Parade” the video…. You need to see it. Great Job
Tool is music for animals... maybe plants, too.
Spiral out next…Lateralus. You’re welcome.
The song is sort of a double entendre... you must have been high (on pot) if you're being a hypocrite by judging me (pot calling the kettle black). People will say it's about weed, it's not, it's just about hypocrisy in general.
In Tool the instruments aren't just accompanying the vocals, the vocals are treated more like another instrument so that's why it sounds like you mentioned.
Guitar, bass, drums, vocals with some keys here and there. Just 4 dudes playing.
OK...
Ok
Do their song 46 and 2
That happened when you just heard mainstream music 😂😂😂 reaction expected 😂 keep digging, spiral out
This is an excellent formula for Yt, add some Stapleton you’ve hit the white trifecta. I know this because I’m 38 and white.
Why you say okay every 5 seconds
TOOL is always better with lyrics.
please do not watch the videos with animation at all unless it’s strictly lyrics. Save that for after you already understand the song, but do not get stuck watching their music videos. It will distract you.
Stop saying OK.
Good reaction vid. I upvoted and subscribed. Peace... Edit: Forgot to recommend "To Be A Man" by the artist Dax
I agree with everyone else that reacting to Tool will absolutely make your channel take off. Please react to Metallica's "One" or "Master of Puppets!" (you might need lyric videos for those to be able to understand what the words are, though)
