Every single one of them is a f'in kick ass musician. This song should be a national anthem. Brad Wilk and Tom Morello shine on this. As for Chris, we all know he was THE man.
I had the privilege of seeing Audioslave live once. Out of the VERY many concerts I've been to, Audioslave was one of my top two, easily! It was my only time seeing Chris Cornell live and he was absolutely amazing!!! Seeing Audioslave live was like 5 concerts in one: Audioslave (of course), Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, Rage Against the Machine, and a couple of Chris Cornell's solos. The last song they played the night I saw them live was Killing in the Name and they brought the house down! Chris will always hold a special place in my heart with that voice.
I just found this, and seeing how Chris, even with his amazing technique and vocal range, doesn't really own the same rage and energy needed to sing this rap style song, or at least not without some practice?.. same applies for any RATM song actually, which simply reaffirms the fact that Zack is a pretty damn great front man for a rock/metal band even though he can't really sing.
Zack is an amazing frontman but it’s not a fair comparison in this case bc at this time Chris had vocal polyps which is when you have scabs in your throat and on your vocal cords that need to be surgically removed. It makes it ten times harder to sing.
@@Fiteclipz Alright, if that's true, i didn't know it, great info, though i still don't think that with his voice in an idillic state he could have done it with the same explosive energy needed, i mean, Zack is pretty old by now and you can notice his body can't keep up the same way but he definitively still has that same type of power, it's an attitude that just wasn't in Chris's system.
I'm happy Chris performed this for the message to the masses even though he's not Zach. On the other hand, "Like A Stone" is a masterpiece for Audioslave and Cornell. Cornell will be missed by all.

Cornell’s vocals on the Rage songs were always awkward
Always thought the same... Love this dude though.
nasser wiz he can’t sing to save his life
Dude. I didn’t know this existed til now cause I been on a RATM phase lately. And I feel like I just discovered a Holy Grail with Cornell covering this classic. 🤯 0:54
I like Chris, but this song isn't him.
He isn't a rapper. I would like to see Zach singing Like a stone lol. Different styles. But in 2005 if you went to an Audioslave concert I can imagine you would love to hear something from RATM
Well no shit, it’s not his song.
Rest In Peace legend !!!
Que falta você faz nesse mundo, Cornell. 🇧🇷

Every single one of them is a f'in kick ass musician. This song should be a national anthem. Brad Wilk and Tom Morello shine on this. As for Chris, we all know he was THE man.
Chris is a good man we all miss him. Rip 💔
Nada le quedo grande a este grande del rock, solo nos queda agradecer toda una vida a la música que hoy disfrutamos gracias Chris
Well said 😂😂😂
Zack is an amazing frontman but it’s not a fair comparison in this case bc at this time Chris had vocal polyps which is when you have scabs in your throat and on your vocal cords that need to be surgically removed.
@@FedeMayhemile. I know this comment is old as hell but singing style does *not* = "attitude" (passion, rage) or lack thereof. Chris Cornell was writing protest songs before RAtM existed. He just sang them rather than rapping.
One of the best songs ever. What a fucking buzz to be in my sons car as a passenger, he’s 20 and I was 21 when this song came out in 1991. We pushed play, flipped that volume up high, foot down on the gas and I was transported back 30 years! That’s gold!
See this video in hd is beautiful
2020 RUclips recommendations are litty, this is fire rip Chris
Yep RIP for attempting to expose global pedophile rings and human trafficking.
@@NanoverseProductions agree with you on that one, him and his friend Chester Bennington right? 😟 RIP
One generation removed from Hitler and here’s an American singing a song that is anti-fascist and anti-tyranny in the former Nazi Capitol. Sometimes history is Fucking beautiful. We need Cornell more than ever. Rest in Paradise brother.
5:21 when he said “motherfuckerrrrr” ahahahaha
I cannot believe this is the first time I have heard this! chills!
I love hearing Chris do this. He is missed.
You mean Bill Cosby
thank God I born in 78 and have a chance to experience AudioSlave and good rock kinds of music in my life
hey
man, chris is way too good at singing for this
This was a huge mistake. Sorry Chris.
Guau ,què pasada,un temazo y Cris Cornell lo interpretó magistralmente,y delante de un montón de gente,un diez como cantante y como músico además de como persona,de 10
5:07 the old ladies watching Chris cursing Lol
I love Chris, I love Soundgarden, I love Rage Against The Machine, I love Audioslave, I love this performance. It's not the same without Zach, but Chris did a decent job here, but I'm sorry, at 1:02, I can't help but hear in my head and throughout the whole video "Mom, can we get Rage Against The Machine ? Mom: "We have Rage Against The Machine at home" and a sounds like music video.
I'd be just as disappointed to hear Zach try Slaves and Bulldozers. Nice try for a good cause.
zac can sing quite good melodically.
Amen
Actually I think you'd be way more disappointed to hear that haha
I love Chris but mannn does this not sound good😂
he's not angry enough haha
His voice was worn out, look for his concerts with Audioslave in 2001 or 2002 and you will notice the difference
@@fjrp1147 like james hetfield
so much rage against the soundgarden machine
It does sound great. At least better than any pop album from the last decade
Closed my eyes and thought Bill Cosby was singing
02:48 Donald Trump???
Holy shit. That actually looks like him.
More like Boris Johnson
@@david.cutipa I agree, more boris than trump
Excelent but needs more Zack de la Rocha on it
amen...
Chris cornell died have some respect you piece of sht
@@Koragh_ so what you're saying is that if someone passed away, you have no right to criticise them? Is that it asshole?
Koragh Pussy
It's a fucking song that Chris want to sing , and prevail the message, now you're all masters of music, shut the fuck up elitist of shit
Boa tarde !!!!!
Absolutamente fantástico.
Jamais será esquecido......
Muito obrigado pelo vídeo e parabéns pelo canal.
Viva o Rock !!!!!!
Abraço do Brasil........
@4:03 anyone see the awkward man wearing a suit and tie standing in the middle of the crowd facing sideways to the stage? It's like he is lost there
Rafael Santos he’s there later too. looks confused af
It is Trump
Blows my mind that Chris could take his own life. Such talent and a beautiful family and on top of the world. You can't convince me he did it really.
Same bro, just shows you the depth of darkness he was fighting with
He was murdered by the Illuminati
Why is there always nonsense about death and rip in his, Chesters, Kurt’s, etc..enjoy what he left us. Ultimately they made the choice, it’s only theirs to make.
Then you don't understand depression and addiction
The Best...... animal musical total!
Me conmueve y me hace hervir la sangre al mismo tiempo!
Gracias estés donde estes!
Ain’t thee same without zack.
His voice was worn out, look for his concerts with Audioslave in 2001 or 2002 and you will notice the difference
it's not about the voice only.. Zack has a much stronger stage presence and energy..
Michael Ciancetta I clearly know that, but if they were playing without Tom, brad or Tim, it wouldn’t be thee same either. A certain element and style of either there playing, performance, & presence of a certain individual is what has made them a great band not a good band as in delivering these great songs they crafted. Nothing against chris Cornell, he’s great for him singing his songs.🤠👌
FJRP 11 dude I know chris Cornell’s abilities he’s amazing that’s not what I meant.
They aren’t trying to be rage against the machine. They’re trying to be audioslave.
Huge Chris Cornell fan here, but I think he's stuck somewhere between Zach and himself here. I think he could do this better if he brought more of his own style to it.
Ironicly the members of this rage against the machine woul cover like a stone with soad singer
Rip chris
@daAnder71 bruh
Que increíble este muchacho.. esa voz. No importa que ritmo musical cante
Realmente único
Chris was a real one
Deus que maravilha👍das vozes mais singulares e geniais que há. Porque não morre um gênio NUNCA. 💝
Chris is an absolute legend but he sounds like Hank Hill singing this song
haha!
He sadly had vocal polyps at this time which is pretty much when you have scabs on your vocal chords
@@Fiteclipz oh that's rough :/

try this one
Cornell is one of the best vocalists in history, but in this recital he was not in his vocal moment, his voice was very worn out. Listen to it with Soundgarden in the 90s and you will see the difference
i’ve seen so many incredible singers in their own right attempt this song, and i love chris, he’s one of the most amazing all-time voices, but it’s becoming painfully clear that NO ONE can ever pull this off but the O.G. zach
Love Chris, yet respect RATM xx
It's Bill Cosby singing! Would you like a pudding pop? Fu€k no I won't do what you told me!
What?
People, it doesn't matter if he sounds like Zack or not, it is what it is. It's not like it's the first time in history a singer performed a song another singer originally sang...🙄
