    The Walther PDP SF is the Steel Frame version of the original PDP, which had a polymer frame. I love my plastic fantastic guns, but there is something about a steel frame gun that just improves the shooting experience, and the PDP SF is no exception. I call it the PDP OEM Plus Plus.
    Being steel, it is a lot heavier than the Polymer PDP, but that weight softens up the recoil and minimizes muzzle flip, though I still notice it compared to the Walther Q4 Steel Framed. The gun is still very balanced, and the trigger is sublime.
    This is just my first mag review, but I look forward to spending way more time with it and really getting a feel for what I believe will be a great gun.

  • @Fishbone8891
    @Fishbone8891 8 месяцев назад +4

    I wanted a Beretta 92 so bad when i bought my first gun because I wanted an all steel gun, it felt like it made sense to me. I also had a disgust for glocks too, fairly unwarranted, but after shooting them I use the grip design as my reason. I went with a VP9 instead and have loved it ever since I first held it. The PDP is the only gun I felt fit my tiny hands as good as the VP9 did. Long story short, this sounds like a magical happy medium for me!

    I love Walther pistols, but until they bring back the option for trigger guard mag releases, I will not be moving away from my PPQ M1 and PPS M1. I know it isn't a popular opinion here in the US, as it is different from what most people are used to, but once I got used to it, I was hooked.

    • @whippy107
      @whippy107 8 месяцев назад +4

    Walther truly makes informed improvements to their pistols unlike Glock who seems almost stuck in the OODA Loop when it comes to updates. Nothing really changes even though they keep coming out with new models. Case in point…plastic sights! Make the Trijicon tritium sights used in your Blue Label program standard for all production pistols. Would love one of these but that price is too steep right now. Gonna keep focused on acquiring the PDP 4” Compact. Great content, Colion!

      Walther doesn’t do anything but put the same trigger mechanism in different frames whether they be metal or polymer. They are also 3 times the amount of a Glock. Unless Walther fixed the return to battery dead trigger “feature” their striker guns are useless.

    I agree on the trigger. I own a PDP Compact with what Walther calls it the "Dynamic Performance Trigger", it is the best trigger on a pistol I have used. If anyone is on the fence about upgrading, it is worth it. The PDT trigger combined with the Holosun 507 Competition optic it very accurate.

    i just upgraded with ZR tactical extension base from 18 to 22 rounds and the base gives me more control over the gun with my pinky on the extension base

    That’s probably the same trigger that’s in the PDP pro. And that’s on par with the Canik triggers, which are amazing. The only thing that is as good is my CZ Shadow 2 single action only or maybe one of the Sigg P226 Legion single action only those resets are like a 16th of an inch, but that Walther looks awesome
