Just a little advice. Don’t drop you gun in the middle of a fight. And if you DO drop it, don’t drop it in a mud puddle. And IF you you do drop it in a mud puddle by accident , don’t step on it with all of your body weight. And if you do happen to do all of those things in the middle of a gun fight, then don’t scoop an extra pile of mud on top in between dodging bullets. If you follow all of these steps, then mostly any of these guns will serve you well.
Underrated comment lol
Well you could plausibly fall with gun, put all your weight on it and scoop some mud up while picking it back up in a panic
Except the Desert Eagle of course.
Agreed lol😂
So let me guess, your gun failed this test?
I'm basing my happiness for the day on whether or not the pistols I like function during this test.
Unironically same.

How'd it go for you?
Soo you happy or depressed today?

There's a reason why I've had my M&P as a EDC for about 8 years now, as it literally hasn't failed on me once no matter what ammo I run through it... but the ice and mud tests just solidifies how amazing that gun is even more.

It was interesting to see the Desert Eagle do better in the mud test than it usually does with normal operation.
bro we had no idea how it did so well
It's built for the holy land desert environments so the mud probably helped lubricate it
Probably because of the different action from the other handguns. I'm curious how the Beretta PX4 Storm would have performed since it has a rotating barrel system.
Useful consumer advice for Desert Eagle owners - If it's not working, throw it in the mud and step on it!!!

I love my m&p 2.0 in 10mm as a Alaskan. 1 gun to carry for all and can honestly say I have never had a issue with it running everything from super light hand loads, hollow points, and super heavy hard cast bear loads
I've heard it's not an issue in the 2.0, but the only issue I have with my 1.0 is the slide release is prone to dropping upon mag insertion
My guess for why the Deagle did so well was because it practically cleaned itself of debris after firing off a shot or two.
Man, I have never been happier about choosing the M&P for my home defense and carry needs than watching it dab on everything else in two extreme tests.
I am of course going to bring this up every time someone argues because freezing muddy conditions are super common in the suburbs of Virginia. Thank you for allowing me to base my entire carry identity around these tests.

Same, I bought a Beretta shortly after. Guess I’ll keep both!
I already figured that the M&P would do well. It really didn't surprise me. What I get more excited about is that with every elemental test that is conducted, the Glock guys get a little quieter.
I own a Glock 19.5 and M&P 9c. Love them both. They’re both very reliable. The M&P is definitely a little more rugged tho. I have seen too many videos though where HK pistols have sucked during torture tests. Where are all the HK fanboys? They seem to be the quieter ones. The HK mk23 did horrible.
@@scott8908 to be fair almost all the guns did horribly during the 2nd test. I am a HK fanboy at heart but obviously i was a rooting for the M&P after it destroyed every other pistol in the ice test
@@scott8908fans of HK are only fans of HK because they think it’s cool that their guns are in video games. I think they’re quiet because the community is mostly nerdy dudes that use them as range toys
Under normal circumstances it seems like a quality side arm will function after being dropped in mud. I wonder how well they would all do if they were dropped and only stepped on once. Which would seem like a more realistic test. The MP definitely did awesome though
@Skookhunter17954 Personally, I believe that it is a great time for pistols. Even some cheap guns are getting a record for reliability(Canik, certain Taurus pistols). I feel that finding the right gun is more about personal preference these days. I just get tired of hard-core Glock fans scrambling to shit on the M&P every chance they get because they don't want to admit that Glocks are overpriced and not even top dog anymore. Sig fans can be pretty toxic as well. But I always seem to get more flack from Glock guys. Or even when I would be at a gun store and I would see guys recommending guns, they would talk about how Glock is the best. Sometimes I would interject on how the market has changed and then I would just get ignored. Like damn, I am just trying to show that you don't need to buy an overpriced brick anymore. Sorry for running off there. The short is, most pistols will be reasonably reliable. But I just want certain toxic fans in the gun community to accept reality and stop being such pricks about people choosing other brands.
I had fun that was a great test I’m a huge M&P fan.great test and enjoy your videos

Made my first handgun purchase a couple weeks ago. Compared the Glock 19, Walther PDP Compact, and Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 Compact on the range. Wasn't a contest. M&P was tops for me. I don't expect to be in such extreme conditions, but it's great to see how reliable it can be.
I initially went with an M&P due to ergonomics. I really wanted a Glock, but it just didn’t feel the best. Smith & Wesson is rarely talked about or pushed by influencers from what I see on social media, it was always Glock and now Sig, but I think S&W manufactures a great product and they stand behind it. Even after cleaning and oiling regularly, my slide developed a rust spot. I contacted S&W and they sent me a new slide. Easy process to return the old one and receive the new, all within 10 days (probably less than 10-it’s been several years) Love my M&P.

the bbt (bigbang theory) is a manmade construct.
How insane the chances must be for mill's of plants and animals to magically mutate over ludicrous spans of time.
We should find missing links.
However we dont, we only find Fully Formed animals. If animals could evolve into totally new animals, there should be a chance we find missing links.
ONLY THE SIMPLEST LIFE FORMS SHOULD BE ABLE TO EVOLVE INTO EXISTENCE. GENETIC ENTROPY WILL UNDO WHATEVER BENEFITS THE ORGANISM MUTATED, FASTER THAN THE ORGANISM WILL MUTATE BENEFICAL TRAITS.
EVEN THEN, THE CHANCES OF ANY ORGANISM MUTATING A BENEFICIAL TRAIT ARE NEXT TO NONE. HOW MUCH MORE CRAZY IS EVOLUTION, WHEN APPLIED TO MILLIONS OF PLANTS N ANIMALS??
FOR THEY ARE WITHOUT EXCUSE....
DEBUNKING BIGBANG: if the bigbang was real the 2nd planet's orbit would be normal and sat turns ring particles should've moved too fast for ANY gravity to pull them towards the planet. And thats not even taking into account the bigbangs hot temprature which shoulda vaporized anything. also there is too little antimatter in universe. if bigbang was real 99.999999999999999999999% of our universe should Not exist because antimatter destroys matter when it make contact with matter. the bang wouldve made much of it touch matter. so we see far less stars n stuff bc the so called bigbang wouldve destroyed nearly all of it. .

The ANTI-Christ is a control freak, the opposite of Jesus Christ. However, this AC will act all nice and cool for 3 years and 6 months, and then he will make a tyrannical dystopia. for another 3 years 6 months. Jesus uses His power for GOOD, NOT EVIL. This is BIBLE PROPHECY. Dont trust the false god, his goal is to get people into the lake of fire. he will go there too, despite all the FALSE MIRACLES HE WILL DO! I think the Deagle works well as an EDC as long as you soak it in mud each day before carrying.
But you have to have the 10 inch barrel, not the standard one.
Apparently so! I remember the ONE time I shot a Deagle, it was at a range and just a rental pistol so granted who knows how many rounds it had seen since last being cleaned but wow... jam-o-matic. As I recalled, struggled to get through 2 consecutive rounds, might not have managed 3 whatsoever.

Desert Eagles are maintenance hogs. My personal gun only ever had one malfunction, where a .44 Magnum case got stuck in the chamber and didn't extract (which seems more like a problem with ammo than anything else), but I always clean my gun every time I fire it, even if I just put 20 rounds through it. What I heard from the XM17 trials was the M&P had a hairline fracture in the frame when they did a round dump torture (think it was 10k without failure). It was implied that the M&P did shoot all rounds, but due to compromised frame it was disqualified. If that's the case, its just a matter of getting the right mixture in the polymer and she would have been good for the the next phase of trial, though it would have been nice if the Army actually conducted the 2nd phase of the XM17 test.

I bought 2 9mm and 1 .45 mp shields back in 2017 for less then $200 each. While they have been reliable guns they are to big for the round count imo. Only time I ever really carry that one is if I am going somewhere I have to leave in my vehicle. I haven't looked at the newer shields so maybe it has been addressed with the size to round count.
@@caleb9422 The Shield Plus is a 16 round capable gun with the new 15 rd mags, so the “issue” has been addressed; however, the size to capacity issue is not actually an issue. Nothing wrong with wanting more capacity in a small gun, but it isn’t an issue for many to carry less. Boils down to preference.

Me too! Full size 2.0 carrier here, no regrets.
I just hated the Glock ergos. Though I was always a S&W fan. But I contemplated trying various companies when I was searching for a modern carry gun. But when S&W released the 2.0, the more I read about the improvements over the first gen, the more it made sense to me. Then I bought it and it ran amazingly for years. It still does. Still, no matter how much I insisted, I could never talk about the M&P's merits without a Glock guy scoffing about it. All because Glock had "time" to be "proven". I am just glad that the M&P 2.0 has had enough time and testing to "prove" what I have been saying for years.

I was worried I was about to get a reality check since I've grown extremely attached to my M&P 10mm 2.0. Makes me even more confident carrying it as my EDC.
Oh boy! Another stress test video to base my personality on!
No clue how I've been into guns for 10 years and watch gun video's all the time yet somehow missed out on this channel. Good thing is I now have so much great content to watch. Love the video's yall make.
Best channel on RUclips. There are some others that are great for training and others that are fun. This is both.
Definitely helps me narrow my decision thank you ! Also where did the gun testing out the gun get his brown gloves ?
The HI Power failing in the first round just broke my heart. I've owned my 9mm Browning for over 25 years, through countless rounds and not one jam. Kudos to the 1911! Thanks and cheers, fellas!
HUGE Hi-Power fan, too. Somehow, I just knew this one was gonna choke. My personally HP has been through thousands upon thousands of round and a full rebuild and just keeps on running but I just knew this one was gonna give it up in the first round. It still bummed me out. The "straight" 1911 actually kinda surprised me on round two.
I call foul. Look at how gently he dropped the prior plastic guns in comparison to how he threw down the Hi-Power. Yes, at least the Nighthawk 1911 fared well.
My jaw dropped when that happened!
I have to shake my head at that. The 1911 and the Hi-Power are the same basic design
@@ericvanswoll4611 Yeah but the hi power has a trigger disconnect, and tighter tolerances than the 1911, and the 45 has a bit more push back on the slide, which probably ate through the mud better. I think the hi power and CZ 75 had the same issues, they just don't have the space for the mud to go, and both don't fair well in sand tests either. So keep your gun clean and they'll do you just fine (i carry a staccato so i lost too lol)
This actually confirmed to me that im getting a M&P 2.0 right after i finishing my AR build. That thing is INSANE!!
I literally laugh out loud on every episode. This is legit the best RUclips gun content out there!!!!!!!
Halfway through here.. love the Beretta M9. Always heave. It's a classic movie and spy type gun lol.
I love my M&P, so it was pretty satisfying to see it dominate this and the ice test video. Maybe people will start giving it the respect it deserves.
SIG fanboys need to justify spending more money on an equal pistol that randomly shoots your cock off though :'(
Hopefully the Glock fan. Boys won’t drive our prices up 😂
Very cool guns for sure
Of course not, 95% of people base their opinions of firearms exclusively on bandwagoning on other people's opinions to mask their utter lack of experience or knowledge of firearms.
I don't care what other people think. M&P is my go to and they're decently priced still. Anyone that doesn't respect a reliable .40 is irrelevant and their opinion means nothing.
I've been carrying an M&P for years now and these videos always make be unreasonably happy 😂
@@YuTube_Username Those are fighting words. I’ve had my m&p 2.0 for 5 years. Thousands of rounds-range trip twice a month. Not a single issue. Hold your tongue, trash.
Likewise brother. Glad you like it. Jerry Miculek’s first choice for a reason.
Military&police is just a gay ass name tho
@@randomchannel4886 couldve been worse, could of said "grip zone" iykyk
@@randomchannel4886 I mean. I guess? But considering that was a big part of their target market it makes sense
Considering an MP shield is my kayak gun when I explore the Florida Everglades on the weekends. I'm feeling good about the results.
I'm impressed with M&P passing ice AND mud tests!
Smith & Wesson has been around for as long as they have for good reason. Between this test, the ice test, and Honest Outlaw leaving his out in the middle of Iowa for 3 months in the elements and it ran flawlessly. It’s hard to say it isn’t the best gun around. It’s affordable too. As a person with a PDP. I’ll have to recommend my friends and family to a S&W. Thanks GT.
Got a link to the Honest Outlaw video about leaving it in the elements for 3 months? I kinda want to watch it now. haha
The M&P is quite possibly the best pistol available today. I love mine, and I’ve shot a lot of guns. I love HK and Glock, but anyone who thinks M&P isn’t at least par to those two are myopic at best. I rank the M&P equal at the least!

Great video! Thanks so much for making it.🔫🔫🔫
I’m impressed with the M&P; bought 3 so far. Wished you had a ruger in the mix
Really surprised at the MK23's performance considering the extensive prior testing the military subjected it to.
THAT!
That’s the one that hurt for me. Tough seeing your grail gun fail.
@@pjkf01 I read somewhere else here that the Mk.23 is optimized for .45 Super, so .45ACP might not have been strong enough to open the action once there was some resistance from the mud. Given the most frequent malfunctions were due to failures to eject, I think that makes sense.
@@pjkf01I was sad to see it fail, but then every single gun ended up failing too, so I feel better now lol.
Hk and their gimmicks 🤦🏻♂️
As someone who has carried the M&P for 12+ years, and have been a factory armorer for it that whole time, I am not even a little surprised at the results. It is as close to a perfect sidearm as you can get.
Couldn’t agree more!

@@zillsburyy1 That's fine, but their incredibly reliable firearms speak for themselves.

I got hard and now I gotta talk to my shrink
Lol the basic 1911 design holding up well even by today's standards when it was introduced during a time when its competitors (Luger, Nambu, TT33) failed to operate reliably in dry, controlled settings is impressive.
Always been an S and W fan and finally an opportunity to shine!
I'd love to see a follow up with the Arex Delta and CZ P10 series. The Arex doesn't even have an external extractor so I would think it'd do well.
I assume the Desert Eagle performed so well because it's gas operated, while the rest are recoil operated. And the half inch oomph helps get the mud out faster
The Eagle definitely had physics on its side with this test. Lol.
SEE? HALF AN INCH CAN DO GREAT THINGS TOO
@@candle_eatistI think you mean 4/8 of an inch
The Desert Eagle doing well here actually makes sense. It's a totally different action and a pretty violent action at that. There's no way for stuff to get in the locking mechanism unlike the Browning tilting barrel designs used on most pistols. This is also making me want an M&P lol
Gas operation goes BRRRRRT
Yeah I wasn’t really surprised about the desert eagle based off of the power alone. There’s a lot of pressure operating that action.
Dew it, M&P is such a nice handgun. Got my wife the 2.0 Compact and it’s amazing.
Full size M&P Performance Center. My go to for many years.
I didn’t know you were based out of Tacoma. That’s awesome, would be cool to see something in person one day
i just picked up a m&p for my first gun, this video and the ice video came up in my feed right after. seems like i made a good decision
I'm not surprised by the M&P. When we were doing extended training weekends with MidWest Tactical we decided to stress test our pistols. The glocks (gen 4) started failing completely about 200 rounds in with out a quick swab. My M&P 40 had its first misfire at 445 rounds in, and stopped extracting in the 490 range but could continue to fire by manually being cycled each time. It didn't stop working until 600 rounds in.
What was the stress test procedure? I clean my competition G34 with all lightened springs about every 1000 rounds and don’t have malfunctions. So were you guys also throwing dirt at the pistols or what?
@@davidzzz94 We were not intentionally dirtying the weapons, but it was a very hot dry summer weekend in a gravel pit. All of that fine dust got into the weapons, but the S&W was much better sealed than the glocks.
@@alternate40krules Your channel is solely Warhammer 40K content.
Ps: no firearm is "sealed". Tolerances can be increased to raise reliability, that is about it.
As Yeager (RIP) would say, he's seen more barrels worn out by over-cleaning than by shooting.
The man created Tac-Response and trained 1,000 of students each year for decades.
As for your original comment, rubbish.
Stop posing, silly basement dweller :D
I'm glad to see what I carry (M&P 2.0) perform so well even under the most ridiculous of conditions! Honest Outlaw did a video some time back where he left his M&P 2.0 outside for 3 months and that gun fired through two full mags.
I saw that video, thing did not look good when he started but ran like a champ.
I was on the fence between Glock and m&p for a 10mm. This helped me make my decision. Especially since it's going to be my woods gun for an Alaska trip.
I’m not sure if you’ve seen but they just released the performance center version for M&P 10mm
So glad I got a m&p performance center 2.0 for my first gun
I’ve been shooting M&Ps since 2007 with about 35k rounds through the five that I’ve owned. Other than the bad triggers in the Gen 1s, I’ve never had a malfunction that wasn’t caused by bad ammo. An Apex trigger in an M&P 2.0 is the best striker fired trigger in the history of plastic guns. Combine that with the reliability you’re seeing in these tests and it’s one of the more overlooked guns on the market.
