Designed to be the top-level of duty pistol, the PDP Pro takes the excellent ergonomics of the PDP and adds a super-low native cut for the Aimpoint ACRO, a flared magazine well, an outstanding trigger, and more. "Touche" means you are conceding a point to an opponent, it comes from fencing and means "touched".

      Given German culture, it was perfectly appropriate for him to address the older (and not-personally-known) man by his surname. Had they spoken in German, both would have used the “Sie” form of address if and until BK would have suggested the informal “du.”

      How is it underrated? If anything it's overhyped. I HAVE a PDP, and I work at a range so I have shot quite a few guns. I think the PDP is a reliable gun, with ok ergonomics, ok grip texture, and a great trigger. The recoil behavior of the PDP is a bit awkward, I find that even a P320 behaves a bit better.
      I will likely sell my PDP at some point.

    Walther has the best striker fired trigger of any gun. Period. Their only competition there is Canik with... their Walther copy.
    And the PDP is not just a great product, but one where they continually listen to customer feedback. The V2 optics system is better than V1, and now it's direct milled.
    I only wish it had less recoil. Between the slide weight, short and heavy spring, it feels like a .40 pistol in 9mm.

    • @EEDad401
      @EEDad401 4 месяца назад

      I've used the PDP 4.5" as well as a Canik TP9SFX and a Canik Mete SFT Pro.
      The difference I found in the trigger is the PDP springs back to reset a little more, kind of pushes your finger back.
      I would say it is up to the end user to decide which trigger reset they prefer.

      @@Shenmue06 I recently spoke to one of my subscribers about this model and he said it is a Law Enforcement only model, which he was able to get through his department. So, looks like they will not be releasing it to the public. Maybe one day they will offer a version like this to the public, if enough people demand it.

The cover of the threaded barrel does not hold well and you need to check it often. In Gernany it does not include a free optics plate. The trigger needs to be pulled for dissassembly. Polymer guide rod. Mmh, well I see quite a bit of potential for improvement. Also: pls give us an option with paddle release. 🙋🏻‍♀️

      It is actually pronounced “Valter” or “Valtuh” depending on how rhotic your accent is because there is no equivalent to either of the English “th” sounds and W’s are V’s in German. It’s the German version of the name Walter. BK just said it that way because he was speaking to an American and that’s how the name is generally pronounced in English.

    i have one, its kinda lack luster. the trigger and ergos are great but other than that its basically a worse glock17/19 with a huge fat and tall slide that snaps like a .40 cal with the punch of 9mm.
    the best way to describe it is a gun with an identity crisis. is it a ccw? is it a duty gun? is it a comp gun? its none and all of those wrapped together and does everything very OK for $800.
    you can get a police trade in glock19, a red dot, and an upgraded trigger for about the same price, and you'd have a flatter shooting gun at the end of the day.
    for an $800 gun id expect it to be better than a glock19 with $350 worth of upgrades.
    the first thing i did with mine was take off the stupid flared magwell that doesnt assist in anything other than make the gun more chunky.
    and on top of all that mine had chunks broken out of the feed ramp after about 60 rounds, waiting on them to send it back to me so i can sell it and buy another glock. if youre in the market for a 9mm duty gun avoid this one.

    • @maximilianmustermann5763
      @maximilianmustermann5763 5 месяцев назад

      The magwell is a weird choice even for a competition gun, because at least in IPSC, that makes it a standard division gun - where everybody else shoots much lighter single-action triggers, 20-round magazines and a thumb paddle. So the only good choice is to remove the magwell and shoot production division. Maybe it's different in UPSA, I'm not sure.

    The PDP Pro that I have still needs a plate between the RDO and the frame. Is this a new version of the PDP Pro ???

    Does this come with plastic sights, plastic guide rod, plastic recoil spring spacer? We love plastic everywhere to maximize Walthers profits.

    Walther makes some really nice guns. I don't know why they don't get more love in the USA than what they do.

    • @Shenmue06
      @Shenmue06 3 месяца назад

      They would get more love if they would sell a version like this with the night sights instead of a threaded barrel which half of their customers don't want. Very few people would choose a threaded barrel over night sights yet they don't offer it. They're definitely nice guns though.

    So are they actually making this version? The Pro models have the cheap, plastic, non-cowitnessable sights, and no direct mount option. This is the way the $800 pro should have come out of the box.

      most people dont run an acro though this is a direct mill acro cut . rather have a direct rmr cut option

      @@redeye8526 I would rather not have to dump an extra $100 dollars on steel sights, and the push them. The Wheeler hates pushing Glock style sights. Stupid angle. Hand hurt for a week after pushing the sights on my PDP Steel Frame Match. Maybe they will dump the plastic guide rod too.
