thank you for the tip
You're a repair man giving instructions to fix machines, kudos to you sir.
Thank you
Thank you. It worked, as stated many times just a few minutes and a $12 part from Amazon. She's spinning like new.
Just tried this, worked perfectly! Thanks!
Perfect fix for my LG WM4270HWA. Thank you!
Thank you so much for posting this video!! This is exactly was was happening w/ my washing machine exact same make and model! We ordered the part from Amazon you had posted and my husband fixed our machine in like 30 mins!!!
Glad I could help.
I followed your instructions 100%, ordered the part, installed, and we have a working machine again, thank you so much 😊.

This was very helpful. Follow your video step-by-step, ordered a replacement part and things are working perfectly. Well done. Thank you.

Thanks!, this repair worked wonderfully. I had bought another LG washer as a replacement but using this video I was able to repair my 10 yo LG washer, now I have a backup in the garage.
You are very welcome. Thank you for the tip. 🙏🏼
I replaced the hall sensor purchasing from amazon for less than $10 and it really worked!!! Thank you so much! And when calling the LG tech support they claimed it’s the motor and will cost me $350-$410 and in that case i was thinking just to buy a new one instead… but thanks to this video i only spent less then $10 and works great exactly as it shows in the video!! Can’t thank him enough!!
You are welcome
Hi and thank you for your help. please let me know how to test the sensor by multimeter?❤
I don’t know how to test it. Just watching the video I ordered the sensor from Amazon as it said in the video, was less than $10, and just decided to try to change it to see if it helps because the worse I would only loose less than $10. But it worked after changing the hole sensor and my machine has been working perfectly fine ever since. Thank you again for posting very helpful information!!!!!ℹ️

I have a LG Tromm , washer , bought it like 15 years ago , has been an excellent washer , my wife had a fleece blanket in it and she said it was not spinning , essentially , whenever it tries to rotate , it swings back and forth and it makes a squeal or two , has sort of this knocking sound , and it DOES NOT throw a code. Just continually does this. I went ahead and replaced the hall sensor with the same problem still existing , so it was not the hall sensor. However when I did take the magnet off the back , I did notice a slight bit of wear on the inside , and I did notice a small sliver of what felt metal on the splines when I removed it , but the plastic splines looked fine. The spindle and the bearing looked great , you can spin it by hand , its very smooth. I put it back together , and same problem. So I know why its not kicking a code , and thats probably because its a mechanical problem , not an electrical problem so , the machine thinks everything is working but its not. Looking on another video , I did see a guy say his plastic splines on the magnet , wore out due to a heavy loads , and when he showed a close up , they looked bad , but not like gone , more like just enough for the axle to slip , which is now what I believe ours is doing. I'm going to remove it and reinspect it.
thank you for sharing. is there resistance when you spring the inner drum by hand? sometime things get stuck between the inner and outer drum. Also if the drain is clogged you can get similar symptoms. did you run the systems test mode?
@@appliancerepairamerican no resistance either way , I did not run the system test mode. I pulled the magnet off and looked at the plastic splines , definitely shot , smooth as a babies bottom , it would catch once and a while with a load and with no load it would spin ok , but with any load it would just rock back and forth. So yeah my plastic gear is gone. I got a metal one ordered but you have to space it with a washer because all the ones on amazon are just a tad to thin to allow the magnet to be the right distance away from the copper ring. Once I get the new part and go get a bushing washer , all should be grand.
Great video. Hey how to test the sensor?
Here is a video ruclips.net/video/ejOFrWQJyn8/видео.htmlsi=UF9cXuoBaQku14yF
Om test may pass inspection and the hall sensor might still be bad. In the case of the one in my video it passed the om test but the plastic clips were stretched making it loose. If it is loose it will be off position. Problem is not always electronic
Great video what if mine spins slowly with no cloths but with clothes it will try to spin but won’t work
Most likely it is the shocks. I have a couple videos on that
Stinkin' metric...
Thank you for the assist.
What about when the machine doesn't do a high speed rotation?
Is there any other reasons for the error?
I have an LG2455WH (made in 2008😅) and it isnt spinning but i dont get an error code. It will spin a little but sounds like rocks inside. Think maybe the spines on the motor are messed up?
Also if i pull the pump drain hose and filter, the machine should be empty correct?
Tough to give advise when im not there to witness
do you know if this part works on the lg wt1201cv it looks they use the same sensor i just cant find the part number for my specific washer
Call our parts hotline and have your model number ready 800-347-2745
Even though I'm dumber than a monkey, I was able to fix it with this video! Thank you so much! LG was going to charge me $350 for this repair!
You are welcome. It is a funny joke in the business. Some techs refer to guys that just guess at what is going on and change out parts as “Part Monkeys”. The truth is that people learn by doing and through theoretical understanding, but it is always best to just do and keep doing. After doing something enough people become experts and can intuit most problems. Watching a lot of videos is the next best thing. Monkey see Monkey do :)
Ours gets stuck during the spin cycle. It’s a 2010 model. Washes and does everything but once it’s at the spin cycle it stops working. Hopefully this works. I just bought the sensor on Amazon for $27. The one for our model looks a little different than yours, as ours only had 1 tab on the one side with 3 on the other side. I will let you know if it works.😊

Thank you, but could it still be the hall sensor?
Usually if it is the hall sensor it will not agitate either
@@appliancerepairamerican it actually ended up being the water inlet valve. We took one off of an old washer and it works!
I hope the diagnostic video help with figuring it out as it triggers the water valve cycles. Tough to diagnose without being there. I try to keep up with hundreds of individual comments. My goal is to help . God bless you
Mine has the same issue but I don’t have the sensor on mine. However my stator has a little rust on it. Possibly need a new stator?
possibly, hard to tell from here. best of luck
Will this part number work for WM3670hva
Call 800-347-2745 and give your model number to the operator and she will assist you and send you the correct part
My drum doesn't move at all. Would this be fixed with a new hall sensor, or is it due to a different problem?
Do you have an error code? can you turn the drum with your hand? does the machine start the cycle with water ? difficult to diagnose without being present
First the board on my washer died. Bought a used one cuz it was the price of a used washer. After installing it, LE code. Hissing sound and a scraping. Bought a brand new stater with sensor, LE. Bought a new drum, LE. Replaced the bearings and seal, LE. Still hissing and a scraping sound, LE.
5 months now with out a washer.
Should have bought a new machine when it died. Any suggestions?
you should become an appliance repair tech. sounds like you enjoy fixing machines. you spent more time and money than the machine is worth
Hi. I want to know are all hal sensors the same
No
Mine is doing the exact same thing but there’s also a locking noise. What’s causing the clicking noise during the stuttering fail spin?
i am not sure.
If my machine is not displaying the LE error, should I assume that it is not the Hall Sensor? Or how might I test the Hall Sensor so I know that this is what needs to be replaced?
Search “how to test LG washer Hall Sensor”
I just disconnectd the harness and stator, but my model of washer, LG WM3170CW does not have a visible Hall Sensor clipped on. I tested resistance on all combinations of the stator's electrodes, and all combinations are measuring 13 ohms resistance. This is below 15 ohms, which I think is the upper bound of normal. Does this mean that the fault is with the logic board sending too much voltage? Or what do I do next?
The tub (drum) spins hard even by hand. Is this because of the motor sensor?
not usually. could be something stuck between inner and outer drum
Would it be the same with a top load washer?
Possibly. Some newer top load have a similar design, but cant say for sure
Thank you. I’ve looked at mine. It has a belt. Crazy kid of mine got clothes stuck on the belt 🤣🤣🤣

Is it LG Electronics 6501KW2002A Washing Machine Rotor Position Sensor Assembly , white
Yes
The sensor on my lg is not the aame as your link how i know what to order?
What is your Model number?
I've read that this error could be caused by a number of problems. How can you know it's the sensor before you buy and replace it?
There is a reset and you should be able to find a video on that and there is a video link for a similar issue in the comments.
Search “how to test an LG washer Hall Sensor” you will need a multimeter. Also, when you take the rotor off check the inside teeth of both the rotor and stator for wear. it these are slightly stripped it will cause the same error.
I get the Le error only after the washer machine runs about 30 minutes. then when it tries to final spin drive of clothes I get the error .
Any idea why the tub would spin for the first 30 minutes and then not spin during the spin cycle?
bad suspension
Mine had no hall sensor.
my LG washer wont spin makes a very low growl sound. Is this the same fix?
Hard to tell from here
How much would a repair like this cost?
$250
Let me know if you are interested in becoming a repairman. Im working on an easy free solution to train men and get them up and working fast
My symptoms were the same. I changed the sensor but it did not resolve the problem.
Any ideas ?
Did it jerk back and forth then shit down and read LE?
Check the splines on the link inside hub of rotter and stater . If they are worn and it is not a perfect snug fit replace rotor or stater or both
call a service tech to use a DMM meter and check the wire harness for correct OHMS and OHM OUT THE RPS AND STATOR,
Maybe you got a bad sensor. I'd order another one and try it since they are like 10$ on Amazon.
If I don’t fill my lg up with a least just over a half load it will not spin! Just keeps saying (ub error) if I fill it up all the way but not stuffed full it spins fine. If the load is under half all the weight goes in one place and will not spin. My sister has the same problem with hers. So I remember you make use of the space mine is 8kg enough for 30 t shirts.
Could also be the hall sensor . The hall sensor is used to detect the rotation of the drum. Can not determine for sure without being there. Changing the hall sensor is an easy and inexpensive repair. There is a link in the description to purchase a hall sensor . Good luck
Might be the pressure sensor . This senses the water level
how much should a repair like this cost?
I Charge $250 Plus the part cost so $275
$250-$300
are you saying hall sensor?
That is the part , link in description
Whats the part number on Amazon
Just click the link in description
They give me a 3% commission when you use the link
I can't find the link for the sensor
The link is the first line of the description
My Stator didn't have the second sensor. I'm getting no movement during load sensing, but I hear something spinning.
it’s is possible that it is stripped
@atlasappliancerepair I'm actually leaning towards drain pump after seeing a video running diagnostics. The tub spins at normal and full speed, but the tub doesn't drain. The sound is also coming from the front of the machine. Replacement should be here in 2 days. Do you have a video for that replacement? 👀 😆
Yes
My rotor wont come out no matter how hard i pull, and im afraid i might break something if i pull to hard
It is difficult to help with this over the internet. It may be time to call a professional.
I dont get an error code
show us how to check the RPS with a DMM, and how to check RPS from the control board, and how to OHM out the wire harness from the main control to the Stator and RPS sensor, how to OHM out the RPS Sensor when off unit and How to OHM out the Stator ,,, this way no guessing on what is going on...
Thank you John. producing videos is time consuming. I would love to create a series of diagnostic videos since that is what is really lacking on youtube. I create these how to videos on the fly while repairing and edit in spare time. Do you have any plans to create diagnostic videos? If so please promote them on my channel. The best thing about youtube is how we all have the ability to donate our time and skills to the greater community. Im hoping to facilitate more community among techs so we can all benefit from each other's experience and also help others learn. Let me know if you are able to collaborate on any educational style videos. Please keep commenting with other suggestions. Get out and get some
