Showed her that you can move up and down the neck hitting every single note, which if you just do that in order ascending/descending sounds like shit, but it all depends on pattern and repetition. No matter what note you hit, if you hit a consonant note after it, form it into a pattern, and repeat it, suddenly it makes sense and sounds good. Once we get deeper into key/modal theory it'll intuitively make more sense to her, but for now she's playing with integrating "wrong notes" in by ear which is a great practical foundation for learning about that.

@@augustesdupin7967 Uhm.. even if you don't WRITE to a metronome you should definitely record to one. Rhythm is the one thing that makes music music, without holding yourself accountable for it you're honestly just writing shit music. I mean don't get me wrong, you can experiment and push rhytmic boundaries but that doesn't mean that it shouldn't be glued together by a solid rhythm in one way or another. @@simonthernstrom8897 I disagree. There are plenty of great recordings that have been recorded without a metronome. It takes a lot more skill to sound tight, but then again the performance is not bound by the click track and the tempo can breathe naturally. It depends on your capabilities and what you're after. If you're working with midi & loops then you should record to a click track just to make your life easier. However, you should practice with a metronome as much as possible, because it improves the sense of rhythm.

3 years later this still cheers me beyond belief 😂
This videos are like old Simpsons episodes, I can watch them over and over again and never get boring
As opposed to new simpsons episodes right?
I still watch the Simpsons, but the oldies are goldies
@@octopusjacket3472 the oldies are honestly the only ones worth watching anymore. The humor was much more bold and inventive back then
the new ones are just haha homer dumb while they mentioning something modern

It sounded really good
It's a Soda Stereo song

It's played in the second 00:55
Rodrigo Fonseca yeah man they rock! but I think this one was an opening to a video game or something

When your eyes are getting heavy and you're about to fall asleep and you hear the faint echoes of the worst kind.
I once came back home after almost 3 days of drinking, haven't slept at all, put myself to bed, didn't feel sleepy for few minutes which was weird but then it started.. All the sounds from the street that came thru the open window: Cars, people walking/talking, birds singin, wind on trees leaves.. It was a fkn tornado of sounds, it all was spinning faster and faster to cut off in the end i called that experience "ear hallucinations"
@@penclaw that sounds a little terrifying
Keep your chin up, my man. We’re going to get through this.

It's not a mistake, it's a happy accident.
Key shifts are a great way to grab a listener's attention.
Honestly this is how it feels to make a mistake at all. Delay pedal or not.
^^^
delay effect *AMPLIFIES* how it feels to make a mistake
Ehh. With no effect its easier to play it off, but still possible with effects... I love music there are no mistakes just lack of imagination. Also never write to metronome.
Metronomes are a godsend, they keep the rhythm locked down for you and all you need to do is focus and let the creativity burst!

"It has me in the video and I don't like it"
