      I was travelling to South america (Peru, Chile, argentina) for 9 months. I Was on a budget and my impression was: it is super cheap(ok, just my view as a german) to eat super healthy food. On the local markets and food courts there is a big variety and super quality of unprocessed food.
      In supermarkets there are all Kind of big brands i know from europe & US aswell but they are VERY, VERY expensive compared to the unprocessed food.
      But i had the impression from the local community if you "made" it you can afford the foreign stuff and it is more like a status symbol.
      As said i Was on a budget and could not afford stuff like chocolate that much. In 9 months there i lost almost 15kg(ok, other Lifestyle aswell... Much hiking etc)

I teach elementary school, and those kids can EAT! they need so much energy, and it's so tough when parents send kids to school with not enough/low-quality lunch. I understand it's not necessarily the parents' fault (high cost of nutritious food, very little time to get lunches packed, picky eaters, etc) but it still makes life harder for the kid (and their teachers) when they're hungry, tired, and grumpy all day.

    I am taking research in psychology and learning about consuming research what to watch out for. Due to this I am always questioning who says what and love your values in spreading information and doing your best to be a decent human being when it comes down to it. Doing our best to be non biased makes us better producers and consumers of research.I always enjoy listening to your podcast and short videos, in hopes to be on your show one day!

    I agree with UPFs. I noticed I gained weight, and worse dental health when working at my part-time job Panera. It was 50% of my diet and I quickly had to take action and cut back on my ease of access to soda, sweets and add other variety to my diet.

      @@xoxocessa The difference between the avarage thinking people and the doctor's factual statements is that Mike provides more reasons to why Lunchly is not recommended for kids, and explain the influence and side effects of the chemicals that are the product contains. In general u are right, but its generally good that he made this video.

    I know that smoking vs vaping wasn't the point of this video, but THANK YOU for saying you would recommend a smoker replace traditional cigarettes with vapes as a step down. My father is a lifelong smoker (thankfully otherwise in good health) and after multiple unsuccessful attempts to quit over the years, he switched to vaping. I love my father and I'm glad that he has found something slightly less terrible for him, since he was not able to quit.

    • @TheElf_Online
      @TheElf_Online 2 месяца назад +11

      That’s what vapes were originally intended for, as a safer way for traditional smokers to wean off nicotine. It’s unfortunate they’ve become an entire problem of their own.

      Yes! Thats wonderful news for your dad :D i also agree with the comment above me its sad to see that vapes are being used for the wrong purpose 🫤

      Yup. I was a smoker since 8-9 years, thanks to the vaping i am smoke free now. But I DIY my own juice, now dropped to 12mg nic and the stuff i vape is mostly unflavored or tobacco. I'm feeling much better overall compared to the time i was smoking. But stay out of disposable vapes they're not good for your health and for the environment.

    • @winterlovere
      @winterlovere 2 месяца назад +2

      @@TheElf_Onlinedisposable vapes are the actual problem. Most come with like 30-40% flavor which is an insane amount to put in your lungs and not to mention how they're designed to look cool for kids. I even saw one that had a screen with games in it. I heard UK is getting ready to ban all of the disposable vapes by the next year which is good to hear, and hopefully other countries will ban them as well.

      More importantly, it's the math that matters. Everything is poison and everything is medicine (with rare exceptions, obviously). It's all about the dosage. Is 200 mg of sodium a lot? No. Is 400 mg a lot? No, unless you intend to eat something like that 6x a day.

    Aprecio profundamente la claridad con la que explicas este tema. Soy una persona que da gran importancia a su salud; llevo años cuidando mi alimentación, y me resulta preocupante observar cómo algunas personas asocian el término 'saludable' con productos ultraprocesados, lo cual revela una gran falta de información. Comparto plenamente tu visión y valoro que difundas esta misma perspectiva. Considero fundamental que la gente conozca realmente lo que consume, especialmente los niños, quienes en muchos casos no reciben la orientación adecuada sobre una alimentación saludable, sobre todo en Estados Unidos, donde un alto porcentaje de la población parece no otorgarle la importancia que merece. Gracias por contribuir a esta causa tan necesaria.
