Jared and stevie do it for fame and views. Kmac does it because he just genuinely loves the music and making incredible songs and memes is how he does it.
The thing is, it's about how you use the guitar. In their cases, it was kinda for the memes, and they had to learn how to play the guitars "properly". I'd put their 18/20 string guitars in another category because those are beasts in themselves, and cannot be compared to a regular 6/7/8 string. This definitely goes harder, for sure, but it's an entirely different thing in itself imo.
