"We're all stories in the end. Just make it a good one, eh." One of the greatest lines from Doctor Who.
osumarko or one of the worst, depending on whether or not you like hallmark
Its my senior quote
Huh. Honestly ties in pretty well with 11's speech before he regenerates. Kinda doubt they were consciously thinking of that, but its possible.
That whole speech gets me choked up every time.
My mother got a tattoo of it, she loved it so much.
I love how Matt Smith (the youngest actor to play The Doctor) is able to portray him as old/world-weary. When he’s talking with Amy before the Pandorica blasts off. When he’s talking with Amy at her bedside.
Scott Redding u really see that in the speech to akhetan, the old man trapped in a never dying body
@@hockeykings3793 Tennant is my fav but I've always especially loved Matt Smith because of this!
That was definitely one of the strengths of Matt Smith's portrayal, the ability to be childlike and ancient at the same time.
That bedside scene might be favourite 11 moment. You instantly believe this guy has seen and done too much over 900 years of travelling in space, and sometimes it just catches up to him.
“Something old, something new, something borrowed & something blue?”
Aaron: *looks at camera*

@@uggggggghhhhh thank you.
Can you imagine being Moffat when you figured out that line - you'd be running around your house going ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
9:35
A detail I love is that when the Doctor goes back to talk to Amy in the forest, you can see that he is wearing his jacket, but the Byzantium Doctor had lost his, it is one of those blink and you miss it things in the original episode that's actually awesome foreshadowing
I also love it. Like how River said she dated a doll with interchanging heads and than the Christmas episode " The Husband of River song" We meet a doll with interchanging heads. They really do like to put those little details in.
I remember being thrilled that I actually picked that clue up before the reveal and knew that it had to be him from the future because it didn't add up, not just the jacket too, but how he acted and what he said.
+WiseWisdom
Those weren't related. Nardole isn't plastic, and he certainly didn't date River...
@@sophiefilo16 😂 of fucking course he aint plastic but if you even watched the episode, youd know that River dated the other head. Also there interchanging. Troll just step off, your acting like an idoit.
One of my favourite details from series 5 that I didn't question but should have was that the apple that Amys mum carved from episode 1 was way to fresh, as though it had been carved that night. Hence why Amelia was home alone that night, she wasn't - her mum was home but the crack took her. I think I'm the only one that didn't pick up on this instantly but I still love it
" Why do you have to be so human.... Becuase right now im not" I cry my eyes out each time I hear those words.
''River does the same things the doctor does, except for the regenerations..'' well
haha, well, technically they're not wrong at *this* point. She's still how she is even without a "safety net"
I love Aaron's face when he knows Eric is wrong predicting something. Smugly delighted I'd call it. 😂
"River does all the shit the doctor does without the regeneration net."
*Cough* Right.
Wolf6120 She doesn't have the regeneration net
@Bill O'Brien Yeah but then she gave it away to save the doctor
Shane did a complete 180 with his opinion of this season.
Christian Sabado i think most of us went trough that at one point lol,i know i did, when 10th left i was devasteted and hated 11th but when i actually gave him a chance as i kept watching 11th became my favorite Doctor
AnimeManiak I mean, I loved david, and fell in love with Amy and Rory at first sight, but not the Doc. By the end of it, this was my favorite team.
I did a complete 360 in terms of Moffat Who
I did a 540, all in all Moffat created intriguing, compelling, beautiful stories and kept me entertained and engaged for all these years. So what if his dialogue is a bit cheesy sometimes, and his plots intricate and occasionally sloppy? At least he didn't make me watch farting green aliens.
@@j-train13 you know that 360 degree, means you still in the same place ?
Fun fact - this episode aired on June 26th, 2010, which was the same date in this season as the TARDIS blowing up. It was a cool way to tie in the plot to real life
Rory Williams = ultimate husband material

I always loved how ironic it was that all the Doctor's enemies, even the Daleks, formed an alliance to save the universe, and ended up making sure it got destroyed.
It's kinda weird how they did that to save the Universe when you know, s4 Dalek plan was destroying the whole universe, and the Cyberman's plan at the end of s2 too and all... They're contradicting themselves a lot.
Nora Girl
Given that they could be different groups of those races to the others, possibly from years before or after the others, I'm not sure they are majorly contradicting themselves... Besides, they might still want to destroy the universe, just not in the way it was going to happen, necessitating the need to stop that specific destruction of the Universe so that they could then destroy it their own way after lol.
Oh well, no biggie.
@@MARYWTHER It's not a contradiction. The plan in the season 4 finale wouldn't have wiped out the Daleks, just the whole rest of reality. It would have left the Daleks as the only living beings in existence, which has always been their goal. Here, the Daleks' existence was threatened along with the rest of the universe. And the Cybermen never wanted to destroy the universe, they just want to convert everyone.
@@TheGIJew. I’ve always felt that their plan is so inherently flawed. Like they’re designed to hate and to wipe out everything that isn’t dalek but if they achieve that goal, what other purpose can they serve? They’ve already removed all emotions apart from hate (and they supposedly can’t physically hate each other since they view themselves as perfect) so what do they do?
@@edgymoji8260 that'd be an interesting story. the Daleks finally manage to wipe out all other life and have to figure out what to do next.
Fun fact: Despite Eleven wielding the fez and mop in this episode, Seven did it first, back in Silver Nemesis.
I know the fez is mainly associated with 11 but I can't imagine any doctor wearing it including the 1st and 12th even free unearthly child 1 and season 8 12 when they were both at their most grumpiest I can imagine them wearing the fast like what you going to try to f****** telling me no
Amy remembering the Doctor is a nearly perfect scene to me. My favorite scene of series 5!
I love that Eric picked up on the "wedding-GUH" pronunciation; it's one of the little things that Karen put into the Amy character that is somewhat inconsequential but makes her completely endearing.
Tennant does it too so it might be a Scottish thing
But why does she have to remember him if River already remembers?
Firefly 24601 yeh its just a scottish thing
Przemysław Zańko we arent quirky you are, we came first mate
Cant wait to see Christmas Carol, Impossible Astronaut two parter, Doctor’s Wife, Good Man Goes to War, The Girl Who Waited, The God Complex and The Wedding of River Song.
NPE 94 so pretty much all of season 6 😂 lol me too
Theyre all so good! I'm hyped too..!
Next week the eleventh doctor meets the second dumbledore
Dont forget let's kill hitler
Pandorica/Big Bang is probably my favourite doctor who two part story but Impossible Astronaut through Good Man through Wedding is my favourite series arc.
This is the first time in New Who that we have all of the regulars continuing on at the end of a season. S1 Eccleston left, S2 Piper left, S3 Agyemen left, S4 everyone left (including the production team!) As the S5 team are my favourite TARDIS team, I was absolutely delighted by this fact in 2010.
5:52 three don’t know last eptheoridsoam
Wow I never realised that it was the Doctor In Amy's house in the eleventh hour wandering about when Amy falls asleep
Przemysław Zańko it’s not, they intended to use that footage in the Big Bang but moved it to Eleventh Hour instead
Did you notice it was the future Doctor talking to Amy in Flesh and Stone?
We had such good times talking about that one when it aired. He has his jacket on! It's a different Doctor! No, it's a production error!
Thhunter I remember those days, good times 😆
There are two moments of foreshadowing of Twelve in this episode. When the Dalek calls for “mercy” (The Witch’s Familiar) and the Orient Express in space (Mummy on the Orient Express). I love the interconnectedness of this show.
Well. I have to say that Mummy On The Orient Express is a pretty lame adaptation of this plot hokk/idea since this has promised us an egyptian goddess.
@@michaelklaus We got Nefertiti. She counts as an egyptian goddess being a pharaoh and all.
Every person ever involved with the show from Sydney Newman onwards:err yea
@@shauntempley9757 and the doctor was in certain periods of in certain periods of time in Egypt and considered a woman and are called The Lonely God said the doctor is an Egyptian goddess from a certain point of view[ I like making s*** up]
LOVE this episode!
11 is so fucking good.
"It's the heat death of the universe and we all know death is a process" is so metal to me
Silence is coming
The "something borrowed, something blue" scene is one of my favorite in all of Doctor Who. It just hits right.
You are gonna love the bootstrap paradox.
Also I feel like the reapers only came to be because of the combination of interacting with their past self, the interaction of their past self made their past self disappear, and then rewriting time, that made their current selves disappear.
Other times when there is interaction with past selves they don’t change things from the outside perspective, I think the Father’s Day paradoxes are a unique situation which haven’t repeated
dan b in a comic it explains the reapers went extinct so there’s that as well
I’ve been a doctor who can since around S6. There’s a lot of moffat hate in the fandom, which is just differing opinions and all, but I really makes me happy that you guys basically have the same opinion of S5 that I do. It’s the season that cemented Matt as “my” Doctor
10:59 it's called the drunk giraffe!
I hadn't realised this before, but this is the first season of New Who that ends without us losing someone.
Season 1 end: we lose Eccleston
Season 2 end: we lose Rose
Season 3 end: we lose Martha
Season 4 end: we lose Donna, then Tennant.
Season 5 end: we gain Rory.
"And your late for my weddin---GUH!!!" I'm so happy Eric noticed that... I love Amy/Karen Gillian☺
BEST LINE EVER " WERE ALL STORIES IN THE END , JUST MAKE IT A GOOD ONE"
This is my favourite series of the show too. There's still great episodes to come but S5 was a great soft reboot and the trio of Amy, Rory and the Doctor are so likeable.
I love Amy but I dislike the "jokes" about her kissing/fancying the Doctor as well... but that's just a Moffat writing women thing. You can really see the similarities between River, Amy and Irene Adler.
@@alexhodgkinson6718 Why not both? Yeah, I think Rory becoming the most important man in her life and her finally "choosing" him is part of her arc but also I think Moffat likes writing quite dominant women.
@@alexhodgkinson6718 I'm not saying I necessarily dislike him for that. Scandal In Belgravia is my favourite Sherlock episode and I wrote my dissertation about Irene.
Don’t forget river!
It was really good that the Doctor didn't have a returning companion to act as a surrogate. It gave Matt, Karen and Arthur the chance to develop their characters without any direct influence from past companions.
Juliette Reacts series four is the best
03:02 : Karen Gillan fluffed that line too: she said "This is where it gets *really* complicated" and it had to be restaged (hence the close-up) because Moffat didn't think it had been complicated at all up until this point.
I love Amy always hitting on the Doctor. Personally, I think she's a bit like Jack. She'll flirt with anyone she's attracted to and puts no limits on who that may be. At first she was into the Doctor and obviously that bothered Rory, but after the episode she chooses Rory you never see him truly bothered by her continued flirtatious behavior again. It's because no matter who she's attracted to or flirts with everyone knows that she's IN LOVE with Rory.
I love Amy because she remains this amazing sexual woman, but stays loyal to her man after choosing and later she does come one of the Doctor's greatest friends. A true friend, similar to Donna, with no romantic feelings in the mix. Like, I love Rose to death, but I love the Doctor's platonic relationships even more
This is what makes Amy really unlikable to me. She's worse than Rose.
thats the way i saw it. Amy's a dominant, flirty women who enjoys winding rory up alot and clearly is the more dominant one in the relationship. But she loves rory, always has done and always will.
I mean, that probably helps with her job.
@@erosion271 Still seems kinda asshole-ish to act this way literally on your wedding day tho
But then she suddenly lost this character trait completely in the next season. I'm neither pro or against it, but it did feel a bit inconsistent.
By Doctor Who canon, the whole universe is a bootstrap paradox. In the old series, the Doctor travelled to help another ship that a distress beacon, and it turned-out to be in the centre of the universe, but there was nothing around them, and the ship's fuel was unstable and it exploded after they left, which ignited the Big Bang, creating the universe that they came from.
coladict so where did that ship come from?
It accidentally time-travelled to the past.
coladict what story was that It sounds interesting
That was season 20, serial 4: Terminus. It featured the 5th Doctor with companions Nyssa, Tegan and Turlough. If you watch it, note that it's one of the few occasions in the classic series where there's an ongoing story arc. The only background you really need is that there's an enemy of the Doctor called the Black Guardian who is blackmailing Turlough.
the moon rover I think that was actually the third episode of the first season
Geronimo!!!
Can't wait for them to watch season 6, probably my favourite season after 4
I’m glad to see they’re starting to like the Eleventh and this season was their favourite. I don’t care what ya’ll say, I loved Season 6 and I think they’re going to as well
Eesh, you liked the "love triangle, who's the daddy, oh and River and the Doctor have a creepily unhealthy relationship, have we seriously just dumped Doctor Who into EastEnders?" series arc?
Only Shane said this series was his favourite. The others simply said it was the best written, that doesn't necessarily mean it's their favourite though. Eric even said he's been more hyped before.
Frankly seasons 6-7 are much better than the nadir which was seasons 2-4.
@@npe9483 "The Nadir which was seasons 2-4". You're joking right?! 😂😂
@@ms_scribbles I like that stuff better than Bill dying every episode
Season 6 next! My favourite season tied with season 4!
Impossible Astronaut/ Day of the Moon is such a good episode!!
You know how every first episode of each season they give us the full reaction on patreon for free, does anyone know if we will get the two first season 6 episodes because its a 2 parter? I really hope we get the full reaction for both of them, I love those episodes so much!!
11:44 we won't see that adventure for another 3 Series
The episode was aired on 26th of June 2010. Once they had the airing date fixed, they went back to insert it into episodes 1, 5 and 12.
I'm not 100% sure here, but my assumption was that a paradox only happens if they change something they've already experienced. For example, the doctor can have Rory put the screwdriver in Amy's pocket because nobody up until that point had checked Amy's pocket. They can interact with their past selves, but only if they first interacted with their future self back at that point.
Matt Smith is my favourite Doctor so far. So many memorable episodes from Capaldi and Tennant but Matt has some great arcs. Can't wait to see they guy's reactions to the next season.
Oh wow just caught the swappable head reference
I think this finale (and really this series) is the one that’s stood the test of time the best. Such a great ride.
12:04 Oh if Eric only knew...
Oh no, we're dead... AGAIN! -Rory, Season 6.
he will eventually
james friel you forgot Jack
The sonic screwdriver in Amy’s pocket set up reminded me of Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure when they told themselves to remember to put keys where they can get them in the moment.
I like Aaron’s explanation about what was happening.
There's the most brilliant pun some genius created on this episode: "Time's New Roman"
Literally been refreshing this channel for the past hour waiting for this vid! XD
thank god im not the only one who does that
I think this is my favourite season of Doctor Who. I loved everything. My favourite episode is next season written by Neil Gaiman. But I was very happy to hear that Shane thought the same as I.
Gaiman does make new TV show on Amazon Prime
I love that River Song is so badass she forces a Dalek (A race of killing machines) to beg for mercy in this episode and not once but three times!!! The Ponds are my favorite companions at this point.
Those Plastic dummy's are called Autons. The Nestenes are what controls them
The next season is my favourite because it's even more of a whole, together thing - I love it so so much!
Rory was my favorite character throughout season 5 and I was devastated when i thought he was killed off. I was thrilled when everything was reset and he was alive again.
Totally agreed with Eric and Shane. Best season of Doctor Who. :) Very well-told, everything ties together and makes sense and even the worst episodes of the season are decent.
really really satisfying to see shane's opinion in particular change so much since i think i remember him being really reluctant to accept 11. it made me really happy bc series 5 is spectacular and probably my fav
I absolutely adored this season, and I adore the first half of the next season; it's after Demon's Run that things start going... down hill. At least for me. I know others love all of Season 6 (And there are parts post-Demon's Run I like too), it just never quite lived up to this season again for me.
Matt rubbish The show went downhill The Moment Tennant left! The Eleventh Hour was a huge step down from The End of Time and the show got progressively worse each Series. Moffat wrote the worst episode during The RTD era why hire him as producer?
Anyone who wrote masterpieces like Blink, deserves to be hired for the show runner.
Samuel Myth Blink a Masterpiece 😂? It's The worst RTD era episode.
It was the first episode that showed a Doctor lite episode could be great.
Samuel Myth if you want a good Doctor Lite Episode watch Turn Left.
I hope they'll do the Matt Smith Sarah Jane crossover (and the David Tennant one!) and the Space/Time minisodes.
Season 6 is incredible! Hated it at the time but now I see it's genius. The less said about s7 the better but then we have 50th and my doctor Capaldi ❤️ Considering they seem to love Moffat and his moffatisms it's only going to get better for them (s8 is my favourite season for reasons I don't even know)
Peter is the best :D
3:04 Aaron to Calvin is like the Russo Brothers to Tom Holland on the Avengers 4 set
Silence will Fall.
Boy Am I hyped to see you guys react to the moment the Centurion Legend comes up again
Only 1 1/2 years left till they are fully caught up
Moffat writes the cleanest paradoxes.
Now I cant wait till you guys get to Angel's in Manhattan
This is such an absolute gold episode!
"Rory better not die again."
*o o f*
Episode 1 and 2 of s6 is amazing I can't wait
Just love it when Eric says 'Respect the penguins.'
7:55 Not sure if you are aware, but if you go back and watch that episode, before this scene the Doctor leaves his jacket behind to escape the Angels...but you will notice he has it on in this scene!
That moment when you realize the title is actually referring to them conceiving their daughter just after the end of the episode.
The next episode is definitely one of my favourites
I can't wait for them to get into all the stuff that is revealed in the next couple of seasons. I feel it only gets better from here....
This was one of my favorite episodes because it explained so much of how they do their story arcs, and it made doctor who easier to understand afterwards. Plus a sky with no stars is gonna be a real thing in a few billion years xD lolol
Can't wait for S6. My favorite episode is coming up!
Tbh I completely forgot about this and though you'd finished this series. This is a lovely surprise.
Omg I never caught onto how afraid the dalek was of river song after checking it's records on her name. That was foreshadowing at its finest haha.
This is my favourite series of Doctor Who, Love it!
One of my all-time favorite story lines.
I love Lono's little messages in the end credits... they have been keeping me extra entertained as I do this "re"watch before we get the new Doctor...
Absolutely the best of the show, specifically at that point. It was such a fantastic evolution of the show.
Can’t wait for season 6!!! Please upload it soon!
Aaaah! Such brilliant writing, this series arc.
5:06 I want the reapers to come back solely so that they can explain more clearly what they do.
Companion: "You've encountered paradoxes before, why is it here now?"
Doctor: "They're scavengers, not police. Whenever they appear, they don't care that it's a paradox; they care that they've found a meal."
Loved series 5 and Matt's 11th Doctor. Interesting note though Moffat did have a plan if Tennant had stayed instead of following the Troughton Rule. 11th Hour would had started the same with little Amelia meeting the Raggedy Man but when adult Amy met him the Doctor wouldn't know her. He'd meet child Amelia as the injured Raggedy Man in Big Bang right before his regeneration.
Awesome reaction just watched the full version now to watch the YT version and listen to wat u got to say at the end, :)
I love the lone Roman centurion story it just beautiful
Oh, it's going to be torture for now on to wait for the next episode again and again.
I have to wait a bit after you guys release a video to watch otherwise my computer glitches and the video doesn't ever load, so the wait is sooo painful after you've uploaded the video and I can't watch it.
I'm happy to see them falling as in love with River as I am lol
How not to fall in love with her? One of the best characters tbh
This season is one of my favorites of Doctor Who. The ongoing story about the girl who waited and the crack in her wall is so endearing and lovely. The following season, while not as grand, is still endearing to me for the complex intertwining deadly love story is also a favorite.
I'm blown away by the compliments on Season 5. It is one of my favorite seasons but you all considering it the best written is surprising. Interested to hear your thoughts on next season.
On another subject, could you do a reaction to the Joaquin Phoenix Joker camera test?
"Fezzes are cool."
True words have never been said.
I can't wait for you to watch season 6!!! One of the best, outside of season 9 (best season of Nu Who)
I agree! My favourite is 9 followed by 6 with season 8 in third spot.
Elizabeth Salvatore season 9 is terrible
'he's been waiting for 1800 years - wait - shit - *_WHAT!_*
River be like: I better dip my parents are about to conceive me.
Shane: Just cuz it's Doctor Who, doesn't mean it can just blatantly do what it wants to.
The writers: You wanna bet?
Could u guys mabye... just mabye do 2 episodes a week... U guys' reactions just make me so happy...
Lol I'm watching the end of time part 2 right now as well as this!😁
Glad to see I wasn't the only one who cried during the "Something old, something new" bit ;)
Man I love this episode
Can’t wait for season 6
I forgot to write this back in Flesh and Stone. It's the problem with having to decide what to show during these edits. You couldn't possibly have known the Doctor talking to Amy would be important because they made it seem like the Doctor from there even though in that episode they did have the Doctor wearing the jacket if you go back and look. It's a tricky business.
I love when Rory says "how could I forget the doctor?" lmao
Don't forget to see the many mini episodes for series 6.
