When that guy hit the water Fred probably thought he was coming for HIM and hightailed it out for calmer waters. That crock is too chill to fight.
Is there a boat operators course requirement there? The way so many of these people FAIL in ways that show they have no concept of docking seems to indicate there is no training or skills demonstration required or that what they have in place is totally incapable of managing the issue.

I don't know about any required course but it's highly suggested and especially if you'd be boating in and around commercial traffic such as ships, coastal waterways, and rivers with commercial traffic. I was just saying about that guy because he was heavy on the throttle right there at the dock @@OpenCarryUSMC

You’d think a state surrounded by water on three sides would have more competent boaters. Especially when you enter “ boating class” on yiur phone, it blows up with choices. Not using the term Captain. The yellow Wellcraft was the best of the best! No wind, no current, whiskey throttle and using wifey for a fender/ deckhand. Doesn’t get any better.
The googans in the yellow Well Raft spent all day on the water with their engine trimmed way up.

Looks live Black Point Marina not sure? Anyway I used to set up a beach chair at Black Point and sit there all day watching all the craziness. So many people don't know what the heck they're doing. Seen trucks, cars, boat trailers and people all end up in the water.

Backing a boat down is easy if you know what you are doing. A quick explanation from an experienced captain, a sound mind and a little practice is all it takes. Alfred knows how to launch a boat, you can count on it.

You would think with the extreme changes in tide they could build or cover the docks with some sort of plastic or rope material to better protect boats???
I am not a powerboater, but have brought plenty of sailboats into docks and slips. Can someone tell me if these powerboats have sticky throttles? What is the issue that some many of these guys are experiencing? It seems a little pre-approach preparation of lines, and a light touch on the throttle ought to avoid most of these ridiculous maneuvers (understanding that tidal currents and wind have impacts..). ???

Has to be the most dangerous ramp in Florida going against what I've always believed I now see that a boating driving test should be required to get a license to drive a boat because they are putting everybody's life and property at risk
Get a grip Lucinda. The real Floridians with real cash park their boat along the canal in their back yard. These are the people who are not 'full time' on the water. Rich people dont have to unload their boats, they just get on and sail away. Just know what you are looking at. It is a very stressful time in a boat owners day. Some of these guys are professional fishermen but most are occasional boaters. Just relax and enjoy the show.

what about bow rope, nose in to dock, wrap line around dock pole, then cap. reverse lightly to pull boat to dock.... so simple no one does it.
I am so confused by the boat handling. The engines always seem to be turn in the wrong direction for the maneuver they are trying to do.
How is it posible to buy a boat from the dealership and dont get a driving instruction class
