Buddy of mine says to me I'm the slowest docker he's ever seen. I said yup cause if something happens and I hit it, no damage done. These jet boats can be tough in these really strong currents/winds. That bimini acts like a sail in the wind. Better to put those down when docking.

I was a volunteer in Arizona, Lake Havasu. I was assigned a boat ramp to conduct the orchestra. Six lanes, one drop off dock. Labor Day weekend. I helped load boats, unload boats, backed a few trailers down when people had not yet developed the skills. Taught when needed,, directed people off to the side to open their drain plugs. Approx 300 boats in, in the morning, and 300 out at sunset. And I must say,, I had fewer problems than I see on yours each time I have watched. Two biggies,, one boat fire that burned to the waterline,,, even that, when things cooled,, we loaded the remains in the middle ramp lane. Couple of jet skis out of fuel,, a couple of captains with happy throttle hands. Those I helped,, just asked them to shut it down,, easy enough to hand the boat onto the trailer. I don't think I want to play at your Miami boat ramp.

As a frequent viewer, I have no idea what to make of this channel. Don't get me wrong, Alfred is never boring to listen to. That six figures sitting in my bank account will probably never leave even though I want a boat so badly. Every time I see a new Alfred Montaner video, my confidence takes a torpedo to the face and I tell myself "Do I REALLY want to share the waters in South Padre Is. with so many fools?" I watch the whole episode, shut off RUclips and dwell on it in my sleep. The next morning my confidence has evaporated and the thought of a boat is nowhere near my mind.

Take a certification course with Power Squadron BEFORE you set foot in your new boats, then practice, practice, practice in a calm body of water, like a lake before getting into ocean boating.

The Yamaha boat just didn't have a chance- also as you mention in the videos if you watch the palm trees and the flag you ought to be able to determine the angle of the current. I just do not understand why people don't just drift into the dock if there is an opening. I can't understand why people do not use a boat hook- what is wrong with picking up a boat hook and pulling into the dock plus why do people use the anchor line for a spring line?
