What buyers need to do--and this 0.0 disrespect to this, or any dealer, is do their own research. Example, if the hull has a horse power range, say 225---400 HP, the Dealer may have a "package" all set, with a single, 250 and tell you, "this is perfect for this boat", but you need to consider YOUR needs. If you know you will carry a lot of gear and four or five big guys, that is a lot different than you as a single boater, or just you and the companion. Going larger with HP is not just about how fast you can go, it means you don't have to run it wide open to get on plane, so it is easier on the engine (or engines) if you can run at 3/4 throttle--plus with twins there is redundancy that many of us enjoy. This boat, if you did not know, is staggeringly expensive--for the vast majority of us, so the Dealer is sometimes giving a "package" that at least tries to get the price down, but so many times I've seen boaters end up with a boat they find underpowered, sure it is fine on a flat day, but it does get rough--and this boat can take it, but a lot of HP can really help you out when you need it. That RANGE is there for a reason, think it through. Don't get me wrong, a great Dealer will help you out and point this out, but many--especially if they are behind on sales, may not. Another thing that is NOT the Dealer's job, is to warn you about how big that ocean can be when she gets mad. It is not joke when it gets rough and even in this fine, fine boat, you need to know somethings; I'm not a "regulation" kind of guy, but too many don't even know what a "thru hull fitting" is, or a SeaCock, or what do you do IF--not when you lose your engine-a floating plastic bag gets sucked up--an alarm sounds, the engine turns itself off to not overheat and you are heading into some rocks--now what? Do you know? Did the Dealer even mention it? Do you have a "repelling pole" handy to keep you off the rocks--and do you have and know who to deploy your anchor NOW? I worry about the "rich guy" who buys the boat--and has no idea and no one helps him out. Recently out of my home port, I heard a guy (on the radio) SCREAMING as his shiny new--LARGE boat I could never afford has lost it's main and was heading into the rocks-paniced and no idea what to do. As fate would have it, a Coast Guard boat just happened to be there, skipper put that big government boat between the guy and rocks, side tied and towed him on in, but you can't count on that. Just watch out if you ONLY have money and not much else. Any Salesman may or may not give a rip.

Well said. Hire a captain. Join a boat club. Get your feet wet before jumping into a $200,000 plus boat. Boating can be scary and often times people have more money than common sense. Thanks for the comment 👍

I bought a new 2320 back in 2007 for 50k. It has a lot of deck space for fishing, but I didn't like how it rode in moderate chop so I sold it a year later. I probably should have kept it though because it would still be worth what I paid for it.

That’s definitely the downside to a 2320 is how it pounds in the swell. $50k was a great deal though!

I am a hardcore offshore Socal fisherman, I am on my 2nd 2320 and loving it. Ice down your VG if you cry about the pounding of this size pilot house boat.

Parkers are great boats! Built right here in Eastern NC. I do not go out in the ocean so for that reason we bought a pilot house boat with a 7 in draft and 250 mile range on 46 gallons of gas. She isn't fast, just super reliable. If I wasn't worried about an 18 inch draft and wanted to do some ocean fishing, this would have been a great option. I watch my buddy's channel "On The Reef" on YT and he has a ton of fun on his Parker. Awesome video. 🤙

Not a whole lot of smaller vessels that can reliably operate on both coasts. You boat sounds super reliable and a great ride!

I looked at a new one a month ago and idk what model it was but it looked identical to this one. Why are there zero fish boxes in the deck? The boat had a huge deck area to fish but nowhere to keep the fish you catch

2420 has them on each sides of the deck. No new 2320’s are being built anymore - 2420s replacing it👌👌

Can i find in CA a boat similar to the english pilothouse like the orkney, warrior, wilson flyer, or explorer? 15-18 ft no frills fishing boat that plane on a 60hp outboard?

I would do a center counsel Del Mar 17. You can get one through Executive Yachts. They have a nice deep hull and ride nice for the size. I know a few guys who fish those locally.
