      @@vicb.2708 - I'm not sure whether they still do this, but you used to be able to get your motor set up to run best at a different altitude. Chevy had a system where they ran the engine on propane to make the adjustments. I moved from 500 ft above sea level to West Texas at 5000 ft, and my car had about twenty horsepower at that altitude and got worse as you went higher. Setting up for sea level instead of high altitude could actually improve mileage and power.

      Dual wheels drop the friction coeffient because they are spreading the weight over a bigger area, dry clean pavement the difference is small but on a wet slick ramp it magnifies the problem
      The fact it needs to be explained to you is sad

    • @GWNorth-db8vn
      @GWNorth-db8vn 4 месяца назад

      @@Zzrdemon6633 - That's the common sense version, but it's not actually accurate. The force of static friction depends on the materials and the amount of force being applied between them. The area doesn't come into it. Example: Steel on concrete has a coefficient of static friction of about .9
      If a 1,000 lb steel block is sitting on concrete it will take 900 pounds of force to move it. It doesn't matter if the block is one foot square or ten feet square.
      Duallies give a better chance for each side to have a slightly cleaner patch under one tire, which increases the coefficient of static friction and gives better traction.
