Great review. I purchased the Pixel 3 during Project Fi birthday and I purchased a iPhone XR shortly afterwards and honestly I keep going back to the pixel 3.
I took my 3a on my trip to Tokyo and deliberately left my dedicated camera behind. I never regretted it. Plus using Google Maps’ new AR feature to navigate through Shinjuku was so cool. Also, never thought I’d see the day when a 5.6 inch screen was considered “small.” 😁 On an unrelated note you’re Pinoy? Knew it!

I listen to music, watch RUclips & surf the web a lot. I want to start taking pictures a lot more. I guess I'm wondering if the downgrade from Snapdragon 845 to 670 will be frustrating.
Love this phone and have since I got it. I have used it every day since it came out and returned the S10. I got the XL and happy I did, it's not that much bigger then the regular one and with a case on the smaller 3a it's the same size. Really enjoy your reviews, you and Mr. Mobile are the only reviewers I trust. Thank you.
The 3a RAM management is pretty good. I typically have about 4-5 apps in the background. Pixel is basically Stock Android so no heavy skins like Samsung's OneUI
I've loved everything about it so far. The sound, screen, size, design. However, the caveat for this phone is that its already lagging too much after only 2 months of use. I see lag often when snapping a photo and/or when I multitask when using Spotify, Maps, and deliveries with Postmates on the Fleet app. I can already see this being a bigger issue on the next update.
It seems trendy to hate on Pixel devices, which makes little sense. My Pixel 2 was and still is a great device, and now my Pixel 3a XL is as well. Great camera, battery life, gaming, and updates I can actually count on getting on time.
I totally agree with you. I had been jumping from phone to phone and had the Note 9 and was becoming board with it. Google had an offer to buy the 3a with a $100 credit for $150. I thought I would miss the bigger screen but I don’t. It has short comings but it is such a good value so I am willing to overlook them.
Had a 3a since June 1st and love it. Came from a 6T, and a S9+ before that. No need for $800+ flagships. Oh, and I also use a Rhinoshield Crashgaurd on it. The 3a does everything I need.
I'm thinking about giving up my S10 for the 3a XL. I hate the S10. I just want a phone with great battery life, good enough camera, and good software. And I think the 3a will do that for me.
I love my 3a XL it's definitely for the minimalist user, I thought the storage would be an issue but Google photos really help with saving space. But I do hope we see expandable storage make an appearance just because that'd be awesome.
Got it last Tuesday... If you are thinking of getting this, stop thinking and just get it! Performance: I don't know why you would want something faster, but uhhh whatever. To each their own. Screen: Everything looks sharp and wonderful. Ram: I have had no issues. Clearly with 4GB or RAM, you cant have all 100 apps still running. Besides that, I have had no lag using any apps, including Maps. Battery: I use mine THROUGH OUT the day. Nothing intensive. Mainly browsing and Quora, etc. Camera: Amazing. Nightsight..Incomprehensible! Build quality: I swear, if this is what plastic feels like, every phone should be made this way. The bezels: ..... I'm still trying to see what's the problem. The bezels are small and well.... I'm looking at the screen 99% of the time... I hardly notice bezels. Getting this is probably my best financial decision of 2019. 5/5 After 5 days of use.
I would love to have a pixel phone, but I buy my phones outright and do not want to spend $800+ for a phone. These "a" options are a perfect solution. I will say that the Rhinoshield cases are the bomb. I use the full body suit on my Galaxy S9 and it is very thin and lite weight while providing a lot of protection. Great video as always!!

I had to be honest. For the 4oo.oo bucks I paid it's definitely a fun phone. I also like the polycarbonate build quality as opposed to the glass sandwiche. I highly recommend this phone, it surprised the heck out of me. Four hundred bucks well spent. Josh, very good review!
I'm thinking about giving up my S10 for the 3a XL. Samsung and I have never gotten along. Always gave me horrible battery life. I'm not even a heavy user. Don't play games. Just some RUclips and social media. And I get 4 hours of SOT. That's even with me dropping the display resolution down to 720p.
I had the first gen Pixel XL and loved it. I gave it to my little bro because he broke his phone, and I ended up getting a LG G7. I regret it. This Friday I’m gonna get the 3a. The good thing is it’s just a tad bit bigger than the first gen XL, so I’m already accustomed to the size and don’t feel forced to get the 3a XL.
Nice review. I like your content by outlining the reasons to experience pixel 3a. I like your closing statement too. If i were to buy an android phone right now, will definitely go with pixel 3a.
Man I can't wait to get this phone. I would buy the 3a xl because it don't have a notch, bigger battery, headphone jack and the price. Just realized that Joshua is left handed
Have the pixel 3a. Think it's better for people with smaller hands. It's a bit easier to carry in pocket or bag. It's not a tiny phone--especially up against the iPhone SE.
Obviously, Pixel 3 is better than the 3a specially in performance but 3a is a cheaper option with no major compromises. You get the same camera quality and user experience with 3a however, you don't get the same performance but you won't even notice that on a day to day use. I am using Google Pixel 3 myself but if you want almost the same experience with a little compromise on performance in a lot less price then Google Pixel 3a is for you.
@@TheB1nary You are not getting my point brother. 7 pro is so much better than pixel 3a except in the camera department. Tge price to performance is greater with op7pro.
I definitely think this phone is worth it. I have the OP7 pro and I would like to get this phone as a XL in the future as a backup phone. I had the Nexus 6P a while back and will feel at home with it.
I like the plastic build and of course the price, but I'm really on the fence between the 3aXL and something like a Mi9 or Zenfone6 for about the same price. One of my biggest concerns is onboard storage. I don't have unlimited data and I like having lots of mp3s and files local. I know specs don't matter if the experience is smooth, but I do like a large screen and lens options.
I had used iPhones for a long time, but got stuck on the 6 because nothing new they had made me want to add weight or give up my headphone jack, but eventually the GPS failed on that old phone. Used/refurb 6s's were priced more than I felt they should be at this point, so I didn't buy one right away. From looking at the pixel 3a, the weight/size, pricepoint, OLED screen, nightSight photos, and the headphone jack made me switch. I'm not a fan of the rear fingerprint detection, but it is quick. I also underestimated how long it would take to get customized to a level that I like, but I may not want to go back by the time Apple comes out with their 2020 phones. And at $300 (Sprint rebate), I can easily convince myself to replace it after 16 months if I so choose. For now, I had an easier time replacing my apps than I had feared, so it is primarily just the loss of iMessage that hurts. I thought that I could use something like AirMessage but my router/ISP do not allow for port forwarding.
Don't have the phone in hand, but have to point out the second speaker is on the bottom of the phone. Would imagine it easy to accidentally cover it up, thus turning the stereo sound into mono.
Title - THE PIXEL 3A IS FOR EVERYONE Indian smartphone market - am I a joke to you? (pixel 3a is around $550USD, that's more than the highest variant OnePlus 7)
Good review. I have the note 9 and the camera is tops. All of a sudden it's turning off though and it may be time for a new phone. I am not one of those people who feel you need more than one lens, the single lens appeals to me but, it HAS to be as good as the Note 9's, is it?
So, would you say is it safe to say that the Pixel 3A & 3a XL is absolutely safe for light rain and accidental water spills especially with its ports? Is battery life really that good I.e. will last the whole day? (Was underwhelmed with the 3 XL battery life)
Hey Joshua, is it ok to but an year old pixel 2?, Need ur advice .... Actually dont hv budget to buy a new one. Or any other phone u can suggest which has lesser price but good camera and almost stock android experience.....🙂
I like the polycarbonate build quality better than the glass sandwiches. Best in class camera. This phone was designed for the average consumer. 399.00, not to shabby! Nice review!
I've bought htc flagships every other year to htc 10 then just got pixel 3a. Never ever will I buy a flagship again. Amen to so called $300 budget phones now
I like this phone. My only gripe is, it doesn't have tap to sleep. I had one for my LineageOS phones like my OPO and Redmi Note 3. I'm not really sure why Google didn't include that feature as it has the tap to wake feature already on.
Why no mention of battery life? We see lots of praise for the good battery performance of the 3a xl but we hardly see any detailed mention of the smaller 3a's battery performance
Tried it today and the plastic build felt super premium, no need for glass and metal.
And no need to have a fancy cases too

I spy with my little eye, Jaime Rivera in the background! 😆
In Asia we can get oneplus 7 pro for the price of pixel 3a xl.
So? I have a P30 Pro and the 3a (in my opinion) more than punches above its weight.
@@TheB1nary You are not getting my point brother. 7 pro is so much better than pixel 3a except in the camera department. Tge price to performance is greater with op7pro.
yeah just like Google's Pixels handle privacy🤣
I definitely think this phone is worth it. I have the OP7 pro and I would like to get this phone as a XL in the future as a backup phone. I had the Nexus 6P a while back and will feel at home with it.
I like the plastic build and of course the price, but I'm really on the fence between the 3aXL and something like a Mi9 or Zenfone6 for about the same price. One of my biggest concerns is onboard storage. I don't have unlimited data and I like having lots of mp3s and files local. I know specs don't matter if the experience is smooth, but I do like a large screen and lens options.
Great review!!
Where in batangas did you go sir? Whats the name of the beach?
Waiting for mine to arrive
Thx for great review.
Worth every cent
Love the pixel 3a xl, replaced my s9 plus
Omg .... Your channel suddenly hit my feed ... Josh Vergara from AA ...
what about battery life in Screen On Time...
Adrian Mihaylov I also want to know
Off-topic, but it's annoying how RUclips doesn't mark videos as "watched" if the premiere feature is used.
Hi. Which exact case did you get? On their website build you only have iPhone options so I'm not sure which one would fit the pixel 3a perfectly.
Don't have the phone in hand, but have to point out the second speaker is on the bottom of the phone. Would imagine it easy to accidentally cover it up, thus turning the stereo sound into mono.
Best phone ive ever had...taking all things into account..price v spec, then there is nothing that comes even close
great review
Title - THE PIXEL 3A IS FOR EVERYONE
Indian smartphone market - am I a joke to you?
(pixel 3a is around $550USD, that's more than the highest variant OnePlus 7)
Good review. I have the note 9 and the camera is tops. All of a sudden it's turning off though and it may be time for a new phone. I am not one of those people who feel you need more than one lens, the single lens appeals to me but, it HAS to be as good as the Note 9's, is it?
Awesome video sir
Minimizing what we use, we can maximize our experience ❤️👍👍 and loving every moment on my purplish GP3a 😎
How does the White one hold up against dirt I wanna get the white pixel 3axl but I don't want it to get dirty fast
I got the 3a xl Ian’s it is smooth , photos are great !
Amen to so called $300 budget phones now
I have a Pixel 3a, I just saw an ad for a Pixel 3a, and I'm watching a video on the Pixel 3a... 😅
Jaime Rivera in the metro.
