We took those little Briggs engines for granted when I was a kid and they were everywhere.
When I was a Kid they were rare as Hens Teeth!! All we could find were lawnmower engines!!☻
Thanks for the videos, brought back memories of helping my dad work on stuff like this 50 years ago
That's cool!!☻
Length is fine! See you next week! Sure you'll have no trouble finding a new con rod. The only people who never have anything go wrong are the people who don't do anything. if you're doing stuff, things are going to go wrong! Love the 5S, great little engine!
Thanks Bud!! Yeah we found a Conrod!!☻
@@805ROADKING NICE!!! Looking forward to seeing this little guy purring like a kitten!
Hey Road King, I think it is acceptable by definition to call those "Bolts" Screws because they thread into something other than a nut. screws do not have to be a tapered/pointy fastener nor do they have to create their own threads... let the haters hate :).
Still shocked at how great condition that engine is in. Looking forward to seeing the valve seat cut! Great stuff! 😃👍
Yeah Buddy!! The only bad parts on the engine were the ones that I broke!!☻
I have a Briggs model Y made in 1935 that runs like a top- I take it to swap meets for kids to try and start, also draws customers to the booth. It was part of my dad's sge collection he had before he passed away. Good luck on your rebuild.
🙏🙏
Thanks Bud!!☻
Well it's not stuck anymore and the rebuilding begins. Love the small engine videos.
Thanks Larry!!☻
That's one thing I haven't done yet is tear down a engine just look inside it.THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO
Great video. Looking forward seeing you cut the new valve seat.
Thanks Mac!!☻
Good progress on this one. Watch out for those gremlins.
Thanks George!! So far the worst Gremlin has been myself!!☻
good to hear. i have not seen any video from him forever. thanks buddy.
Nice progress - lovely to see another Briggs restoration!
Thanks Von!!☻
I wasn't giving that engine much hope, but I think you're going to be able to restore it!
Yeah I was a lil' skeptical myself, never ran into one that was seized quite like this one!!☻
Great work R/K! Thanks for the looksee.
Thanks Mac!!☻
This is going to be a good runner 👌
Lookin good, Roady. Going to check part 3 now!
Always learn something new
Yeah Buddy!! that's what it's all about!!☻
Hopefully seeing a rebuild, its a nice lil engine 😊
Hey boss, great video as always and thanks for sharing, you could make an hr long video and I would be fine with that.
Thanks Scott!!☻
You couldn't have found a better socket to push the piston down. What a fit. It looks like you have some good parts to work with there buddy.
Yeah Buddy!! The only bad parts were the ones I broke!!☻
Bummer on that connecting rod. Nice little engine you got there.
Looks like this one is gonna fight ya looking forward to your next one !
Yeah Buddy!! This was a tough one!!☻
As a headphone user, I really appreciate that you don't reach for the ugga dugga gun every 5 seconds!!!
Yeah I'm not a big fan of the zip gun, they usually do more harm than good!!☻
Good show, looking forward to this one, particularly as it's a model on my "NEED" list 🍻
You wouldn't believe how rare they are over here, rare and unloved (hated) by most, finding a much later one is still easy though)
I was hoping you'd mention what the 50/50 mixtures was made of.
Too bad the border is between us and postal rates are not so crazy. I have a 2 HP Briggs & Stratton engine, almost brand new but over 30 years old, just sitting here in my work shop with nothing to do. It came with a small concrete mixer that had to 'motors' on electric and the other,. this little 2 HP one, which I only used once and switched over and stayed with an electric motor on my mixer. I'd send it to for your collection.
Anyway, can't talk about " IF's " can we, I'm looking forward now to Part 3,
Thanks for thinking of us Reg!! I stopped shipping lil' engines years ago, even without the Border shipping rates are ridiculous and you're lucky if it get there without any damage!!☻
@@805ROADKING I know it doesn't help much to tell you what 'can't be done', but just to let you know that my thinking was in the correct place . Hahaha!
Keep the videos rollin' 👍
The brown may be lead deposits.
I may have been run on leaded aviation fuel from way back that had very high lead content.
If you don't have trolls your not a good RUclipsr. Love watching your videos
Thanks alot Jim!!☻
Where I'm from, what you call a hot wrench we call a blue tip wrench!
Damn bud, I hope you can find another conrod. It otherwise looks good. I love it when you restore these old briggs - have you counted how many until now? Take care and keep warm, spring is soon coming.
Thanks Jesper!! We did get another Conrod!! Never counted how many Lil' Engines we restored or repaired but it's gotta be in the hundreds!!☻
The length is fine with me. If you don’t find a rod send me the part number and I’ll see if I have one in my inventory. Thanks!
Thanks Rodney!! We got one!! You know how it is, you can have 1000 spare parts but never the one ya need!!☻
@@805ROADKING always
👍🏻
I hope you can find another connecting rod for her!
Yeah Buddy!! We got one!!☻
Okay I’ll let the bolts vs screws go and the calling the crankshaft a connecting rod a pass, I’ll even let the Allen screw comments ( socket head) slide. Roadking you need to to stop disrespecting the 32! Stuff piled up under it and covered with dust!
But enough of my bellyaching, a great video, getting back to the roots! I like it!
You're Killin' me Dawg!!☻
That's a bugger mate...I'm sure you'll find another rod RK.
Yeah Buddy!! We got one!!☻
would a long extension with a wobbly end help get that long bolt out
Never thought about it, but I'm sure it would!!☻
Nuffa' This!
Too bad about that rod ,, and the seats , well I think I recall you’ve got those nice Neway cutters .
Should be short work for the “king”
Yeah Buddy!! Sh!t happens eh!!☻
good little engine. what ever happened to little dirtbikes?
He's still around, him and his Dad stop around once a week for a few hours!!☻
casulties happen unfortunately at least theres lots of them around for parts
Yeah Buddy!!☻
That moment you realise you broke something in a stupid way, I've been there, too many times... :S
As long as you keep working on stuff it's always gonna happen, ya just have to try and minimize it!!☻
RK- won’t be long now & the old Briggs will be singing again!!! ps f*ck the trolls……
Thanks Tom!!☻
Fun video - thanks!
Is that a motor or an engine? The comments section wants to know!
Yes, it is. 😊
I call it an Engine but the minute you put it where it propels something then it becomes a motor!!☻
So did the wound on the little finger heal up now that you took the bandaid off? LOL Soak the rings in the mixture..
That's the baby finger, the big green one is still injured!!☻
If you don't make a mistake every now then you're not normal.
Yeah Buddy!! That's how ya learn!!☻
Brother RK,
Great Movie!!
Just a suggestion. Look at your analytics and see how many good subscribers you have, compared to trolls. Let's just say 100:1. I think you should become a troll collector.
Just sayin'.
Than you Dan'l!!☻
No worries we all make mistakes.
Yeah Buddy!! We just have to try and minimize them!!☻
