“If you want to find a part you lost buy a new one”. No truer words have ever been spoken! 😂👍
Yeah Buddy!! Never fails!!☻
"In stock" the small engine mechanics favorite phrase. Then you up your game and fabricate a new one that's even better. Nice work EJ.
Thank you George!!☻
Aw man, I was hoping to see that baby start up, but as someone who recently moved to Minnesota, I totally understand about the snow dump!
Been watching your videos for years and years. I never get tired of the cool stuff you do. You're such a wealth of (what's sadly) a dying breed of information and way to do things. Things like that little oiler you use...the new generation doesn't have those. Your little hand suction stick for setting the seats on pistons is such a lost art. I can only hope people watch your videos and learn a better way to do things.
Thank you Dan'l!!☻
I have found so many I have lost after I bought the replacement. Looks like a new engine. Its 65+ here today and sunny!
Thanks Bob!! Your weather will hit us in a few more days!!☻
when I worked at a print shop we got pallets with paper etc. and they had the metal banding straps on them, that strapping made great grounding mechanism to kill those little engines.
That's a good idea, next time I see some I'll grab it!! That's something worth having around the Shop, there were a few times that would have come in handy!!☻
Are they hard to drill? From the hardness of the steel?
yes, that is the only downfall.@@dwaynejohnson6277
darn it now i have to wait till next time to hear it run.
Right on the edge of my seat c'mon !!!
Anxiously waiting for the start up, I'm betting two cranks and it will fire up.
Save your money Larry, this was a tough one!!☻
I like those wire forming pliers! I'm lookin' forward to hearin' her run!
One more video on this one Bud!!☻
Roadking you Do a Nice Job Restoring Old Brigs Engines
Thank you Dan'l!!☻
That is what makes working all these old engines. Learning and remembering all the ins and out of them. Geez, that's a lot of snow. That will keep you busy getting all that cleared away. Cheers Buddy
Thanks Lloyd!! At our age we've forgotten so much everything is a learning experience!!☻
Morning RK from Northern California!
Good Afternoon Kris!!☻
Great explanation of the governor vane and linkage.
Thanks Ray!!☻
Not a bad little engine, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
I learn a lot from your videos RoadKing, thanks.
Thanks Mike!! It's always a learning experience for me too!!☻
It’s so close!! Thanks!!
Yeah Buddy!!☻
That little engine is coming together nice RK, can't wait to here it fire up,
Looks like wet heavy snow you had there, you guys Drive safe on your road trip No Dounuts in front of the house😂👍🏻
Thanks Bruce!!☻
makes me glad i rarely and do mean rarely get any of that frozen stuff aka snow. although last year was a few days of only about 25 degrees
It’s all in the details!! Nice work as always RK!!
Thank you Tom!!☻
I remember NJ to feel especially cold in the winters I was there, 1984-87, until it snowed. Then it almost felt balmy in comparison.
I worked in the Shipyard during that time 78-88, I remember working in 5° temps, it was so bad one year the Delaware River was frozen solid all winter!!☻
That is a phenumatic air classic looking engine that you are doing a great restore job on there young man 👍😎
Thank you Rob!!☻
@@805ROADKING your welcome @805roadking👍😎🙏
Brother RK,
Great Movie!!
Thank you Dan'l!!☻
Thin head on that start lever bolt - I'll bet that's to provide clearance for whatever V-belt the engine is driving.
That pneumatic governor looks better than new RK!
Thanks Jack!! I wasn't too optimistic at first but after unsoldering it then it was pretty easy to straighten it out!!☻
I us to have a few of these in the day but I think I gave them away. You doing a dandy job on that one...CHEERS
Thanks Buddy!!☻
Some nice work there sir 🔧
Hey Roadking!! Your story about your spring getting caught in the wire wheel and whacking your thumbnail reminded me of my story. But I wasnt so lucky. In my case the hook on the end of the spring went into my finger print on my thumb, and came out again 1/4" away. So it was firmly hooked into my thumb and I had to unhook it. I was left with 2 holes in my thumb for a while.
Wow that sucks!! I know it hurt like a Bitch when it flew off my thumb at 100 mph!! I can only imagine the pain you were in!!☻
Oh yeah, the times I've misplaced things and then bought replacements, only to find the ones I'd misplaced again, it's the best guarantee of finding things... :P
Yeah Buddy!! It never fails!!☻
Dang, it's 63° here in TN. I love to look at the snow (somewhere else!) LOL I was hoping for a start up this video, but I see why not.
Thanks Keith!! Your weather will hit us in a few more days!!☻
Awesome video can't wait for your next video THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO
Thank you Lil' Joe!!☻
its a better idea to not tighten the muffler down all the way. use the lock nut to tighten it down. as the engine will expand when it gets hot and contrat when it gets cold it can crack or damage the threads of the muffler or the block itself.
minus 30 deg C there we are plus 38 deg C here
Nuffa This!
Yeah Buddy!!☻
i wonder what the significance of the little loop in that linkage is for. strength?
Nah that's just to hold the spring, that linkage doesn't have to be very strong for what it does!!☻
thats very good mate, dont edit anything out many yt vids have a stack of editing on them and i think raw videos that are not edited are what videos should be about as it adds that everyday person feel to the video, i would make videos the exact same way pasue the video and do what ya need and resume.
does the old hotrod still run and drive i see in the intro you are driving it but i see her in the shed there.? regards, Tony.
Thanks Tony!! Yeah the ol' Coupe runs, haven't driven it in a while because we've been very busy!! We should get it out this Spring though!!☻
Almost everything from Ace hardware is made in china.
I sure do miss True Value hardware stores.
Don't hurt your back shoveling that white stuff!
