Its coming together nicely. Love watching you rebuild these old briggs engines!
Thanks alot Bob!! We appreciate it Bud!!☻
Enjoying your restoration of the old Briggs. I found if you use a Vernier caliper to measure total length of the valve , you can measure the valve as you grind it. Saves putting the valve back in the engine and measuring and removing and measuring ,saves time.
Thank Martin!!☻
Love these little 5S engines!
The little Briggs is going together great Buddy. Going to run like a Champ. Cheers
Thanks Lloyd!!☻
I never worry about the length of your videos - keep on going as far as I'm concerned!
Thanks alot Chris!! We appreciate ya Bud!!☻
Awesome little Briggs & Stratton motor thank you for the video
Hi Road king. I haven't forgotten you. Been a while since I commented. As always liked and shared. All my best.
Thanks alot Bobby!! We appreciate you hangin' with us over the years!!☻
Outstanding! That valve trimming jig is just fantastic. Looking forward to part 6! 😃👍
Thanks Mate!! That Jig was one of Mike's spur of the moment creations!!☻
Beautiful work - better than new!
Thank you Von!!☻
Morning RK, drinking a cup and watching the little Briggs coming back from the scrap pile, happy around hog Day!
Mornin' Bud!!☻
Guna be a sweet little engine when your finished, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
We're gettin' close to hearin' her run!
Yeah Buddy!!☻
Lookin good. So close to being done.
Doing great work my friend , love the build
Good tutorial, EJ.
Thank you George!!☻
Have you ever wondered how they assembled things like the valve keepers, and that crankcase vent doodad and spring, efficiently at the factory all those years ago?
They probably had women doing it, they could probably do both keepers and the doodad in less than 30 seconds!! It took me about 20 min to put the valves in!!☻
That good. I like seeing this even if I did it many times. You're doing a very good job on this small engine I must say, but you know it....CHEERS
Thanks Gator!!☻
Good stuff mate.
Thank you Mate!!☻
I wondered if Stanley had something to do with B&S when you called it a 10-28, my old planes have crazy threads like that!
Nice RK 👍🏻
you kids with your toys. are you going to put it on a go cart? cant wait to hear it run.
Nuffa This!
Yeah Buddy!!☻
I assume the silver metal winged piece of sheet metal under the cylinder bore is to catch oil and run it into the PTO side bearing?
So when it comes to grinding valvestems, it's hip to be square... :P
Yeah Buddy!!☻
is that intake valve guide suppose to be higher than the exhaust??
Yeah I guess that's how they made them!! That was an original unmolested Block!!☻
I like your rig for squarely removing material from the valve stem. So when you are measuring for the proper gap are you holding down on the valve so it is seated?
Thanks Mike!! Yeah we have it pressed down pretty good!! We always check the clearance after they are installed with the springs and keepers also!!☻
Looks awesome RK!! What black paint did you use? Thanx!!
Rustoleum!! I've always had good results with it!!☻
Hey bud, quick question, when checking the valve clearance, what if gap is too big?, anything you can do or is it new stem replacement time?
Regards
Brettski UK
Sometimes you can regrind the top of the valve but you need to have a valve grinder or have access to one!! If it's not too far off you can cut the seat a little or aggressively lap the valve!! With all that said, a new valve is pretty cheap to replace!!☻
@@805ROADKING thanks bud 👍
Weld it up and then grind her back to 15 thou.
What kind of paint did you use? Looks very good.
Rustoleum!! I've always had good results with it!!☻
