Great job Buddy, those old Briggs never die they just get older. Looking forward to seeing the progress. Cheers
Thanks Lloyd!! Yeah they were designed to outlast all of us!!☻
Ah, the old degreasing bucket with the mystery fluid :) Everything is looking good - I always like the square nuts technique!
Thanks Chris!! Yeah the Magic Juice is still working!!☻
Well you definitely got the money shot when you blew the dust from that tank!
That rust removal method you use, always amazes me. I mean I know it works, but the amount of powered rust than comes out is what amazes me.
Hope you can save the tank, especially after all that work.
Yeah we were lucky, that tank was pretty solid!! I had rust remover in it for two days and no leaks!!☻
@@805ROADKING Good result then!
Cleaned up nice all the parts, wow the rust dust from the tank 😮😮😮😮
The cleaning part of any restoration takes a lot of time, but it is one of the most important for a good restoration job.
Yeah Buddy!! It's the most undesirable part, but like you say the most important!!☻
Good morning Roadking
Mornin' Don!!☻
It would be nice to have a bead blaster setup to clean all that stuff. Looking good! Thanks!
Thanks Rod!! I have a Blasting Cabinet, I just prefer using striping wheels!!☻
I'm guessing with what you're doing the more you can preserve the better. Thanks!@@805ROADKING
Great little engines!!! Thanks for saving it.
Thanks Pudge!!☻
So what is the story on the 57 Chevy, are you ever going to work on it?
Yeah we'll probably start in the spring!!☻
Can't wait for the auto body lessons
Parts fly around my shop too, this winter ive been cleaning out the shop so I can reset it up. Ive found multiples of things I thought id never see again...
I found it but only after I ordered another one!!☻
Loved the Square nuts in the gas tank, and turned on the Mower RK, hope there's not to many pin holes in the tank. Still digging out from the Snow storm here 14" of snow and now below 0 temps.
Hope all is well Bud👍🏻
We lucked out, the tank was pretty solid and didn't have any holes!! It's snowing here right now, only expecting a couple inches!!☻
This is a good channel
Thank you Bill!!☻
you are lucky to get out side and work. its too cold for me now, three below and snowy. that looks like a lot of fun. dirt bikes dont know what he is missing. keep up the good work.
Thanks Tim!! The cold and Snow are suppose to hit us tomorrow!!☻
You did such a great job on the pickup why don’t you do the 57 chevolet. It would come out great with your knowledge
We'll probably start working on the 57 this spring!!☻
Very good video I had to watch it again thank you
The point of turnaround!! Ready for paint & reassemble!! Gotta love these old Briggs vids- keep ‘em coming, RK!!
Thanks Tom!! Yeah now the enjoyable part starts!!☻
Movin on through the job! Understand about losing that spring, same thing goes on in my garage. Take care, it just started snowing in Kent Cty De.
That means it'll been snowing here in about two hours!!☻
I hate it when I loose a part in my shop like you lost that spring. Those rings may be the Stuckist rings I have ever seen on a piston. Good job saving the piston when you took those rings off!
Thanks Bob!! I've learned the best way to find a lost part is to buy a new one!! That's exactly what happened with that spring, now I have a spare that I will never find when I need it!!☻
Always enjoy the Briggs content, actually didn't know that the oil rings were open to the inside of the piston. But it makes sense, that oil has to get to the rings somehow. Hope you're staying warm, bet you didn't film the outdoor stuff this week!
You're right Diddly!! That was filmed a couple weeks ago!! It's 18° and 3 inches of snow on the ground today!!☻
Nice job coming together very well, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
Thank you Donald!!☻
Broken con rods and broken rings. The joys of wrenching on old iron.
The rings didn't bother me, it was inevitable that they weren't gonna make it!! The Conrod really pissed me off, that was just stupidity!!☻
@@805ROADKINGwould have been worse if no replacement available!
I'm all in for the heart of any restoration - tons of mindless cleaning, grinding, sanding and scraping. Thanks for the usual helpful links to products. Cheers.
Yeah Buddy!! It's all about the prep!!☻
G'Day RK.
G'day Mate!!☻
I am already watching a good channel lol. Enjoying the resto!
Thanks Von!! It's guys like you that keep me making videos!!☻
Lookin' good! We gonna see ya at the snow show Saturday?
Thanks Bud!! Yeah me and Mike plan on going!!☻
I really enjoy your small engine projects
Thanks Kev!! We appreciate you watching Bud!!☻
To bad about the rings. Good thing you had a spare set. It’s cleaning up good….
Excellent episode! You know those square nuts are getting very expensive! I can’t believe how that gunk got behind and cemented those rings! Amazing! 😃👍
Thanks Bud!! Jacktown this Saturday, you're welcome to hangout with us and freeze your balls off!!☻
Nice!
When's the next Engine night with Mike, Dirt Bike and Daddy Dirt Bike. I'll drive down from Connecticut! I'll bring the Pizza!
We don't have a set night any more!! Lil' Dirt Bike is a Professional Musician so we try to get together when he's not working a Gig!!☻
👍👍
I wonder if an ultrasonic cleaner might have freed up those rings. Still, it's an expensive piece of equipment for a "maybe" when compared to the cost of a set of rings.
An ocean away, and we are also expecting snow in the next few hours.😮
Never thought about the ultrasonic cleaner, it would have been interesting to try!!☻
Nuffa this!
I always see guys use some kind of liquid with the nuts in the rusty gas tank hmmmmm now I'm not sure what to try that worked pretty good 👌 Might need some lipstick on this one 😅
Yeah I think cleaning with the nuts dry works better, then after we blow it out put vinegar or one of them magic rust removers in it over night seems to work pretty well!!☻
Just shows the importance of air filters, cos nobody likes sticky rings... :P
Yeah Buddy!!☻
Less talking and more working 😂😂😂
Nuffa dis? No! Never enuffa dis! Broken rod, vise grips on the valve, lost spring, trashed rings. What's this? Mart's garage?
Lol!! Welcome to our World eh!!☻
when you mentioned the degreasing bucket I wondered if you have refreshed the obama gas for biden gas now?
We've never refreshed it completely, just added to it when we have to discard old crap outta an engine!!☻
@@805ROADKING Nuffa that :)
