Sir, thank you again for giving me the opportunity, my gratitude has no bounds! The episode came out great! Shadow of the Colossus lends itself so well to being explored, there is so much care put into this game
Dude, I just read further down the comments about your mom; you go do what you gotta do. I just lost my mom a couple years ago after watching her wither away for way too long (and my wife lost her dad a little before that), so I totally get what you're going through and it sucks in all the worst ways possible. There's not much that can be said to make this trying time easier that you haven't heard already or that won't sound horribly trite and cliche, so I won't insult you by trying, just take as long as you need to deal with this; don't rush it, we'll be waiting for you. My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to you, brother.
I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. No should have watch thier own mother wither away and it is sad news to hear whenever someone losses one of thier loved ones
ps2 no, but shadow of colossus yes. this game used the maximum from the console, beside how awesome this game looks, he still looks inferior than zelda games from gamecube... ps2 was the weakest console from that generation, by technical description and even more by software capacity. anyway, shadow of colossus was a masterpiece
A+Start you forgot to explore the "Pikol's Big secret" (search it on youtube) it is an out of boundary damm which wasnt used on the game but its pretty amazing.
Shesez, you just gotta do another version of this video for the remake, if for no other reason than the game is gorgeous to look at. It also has so many tantalizing areas that you can't normally reach: the canyons beyond Argus' coliseum, the forest above Dirge's cavern, the chamber where Quadratus started... the list of places I want to finally see is nearly endless.
This sounds like you also didn't know about the game mode "time attack" in which after finishing the game in normal or hard difficulty and load that finished save you can start the game again with your health and stamina bar increased as the end of the game. But this time around you go in front of the statues in the temple and press the button you use to hold the sword up. It will let you face any of the colossi giving you a time to clear them. Defeating them all in time attack unlocks the lizard stone that allows you to locate every lizard on the map. Including that one on the temple.
6:17 i just remembered my first time at that area. my first thought was "well there is no way the horse is gonna make those jumps" followed by me dismounting and crossing the bridge only to fall to my death as the bridge collapsed.
This one's been a long time coming! Thanks for the vid Shesez! This game has some of the most interesting and mysterious cut content of any game I've ever seen. Considering there were once 8 extra Colossi in the game, and the map was created to reflect that, there are a LOT of out-of-bounds secrets like the Dam and Orange Arches.
greathorn That's exactly what I was thinking. I feel like this was one of the last games made to have a bunch of rumors about secrets spread around. "Urban Legends of Zelda"
there's none, It's really solid in that regards, I think that the best thing that nomad managed to do is manually tell the game that he killed all colossus when he didn't, but I think that it really
White Protagonist Maybe sequence break in regards to the fights themselves. Examples would be launching on to Gaius’ head through his sword flip, jumping onto Argus’ chest from his belt, and jumping on to Basaran’s head from his front leg. Basically the speedrun of the game
Drake Klemme Dammit, I was hoping it wasn't that, but had the terrible feeling it was after that those comments paired with the dedication at the end... I just went through that with my mom a few years ago, and it is one of the worst things to go through, no matter how old you are.
It's amazing that this kind of thing was even possible on the PS2. I remember playing this years ago. and man, you did NOT disappoint. I'm glad to see this show doing well, and I hope to see it go even farther. I just wish I had the income to contribute.
Yo sad to see you go for a bit but glad you have been here. Stay positive my dude your incredible at content creation. Would honestly love to see any other type of content you could offer. Throwback to your first vids in your room where it was crazy to think youd make stuff so loved by thr gaming community. Keep breaking boundries and stand tall.
I wonder if the bridge goes so far out because they originally needed extra room for the Spider colossus boss fight? And since they got rid of it, maybe they just patched it over with mountain texture
It goes out so far because in the demo the bridge led to a plaque with a special thanks and info on the game show where it was to be released. Of course the only way to get to see it was to climb the tower in the demo. It was never removed fully from the full game when it was released.
I'm glad that nomad colossus got a shoutout, he is truly incredible when it comes to this game, putting out so many interesting things about it for years and years now.
yeah, also at the end he dedicated the episode to his parents which seems a bit out of nowhere. He had also tweeted a few days ago that there was a chance that this video could be delayed because somthing with more priority came up.
Yea, given the commentary that went right before that dedication, the obvious conclusion is a grim one. I'm feeling legit anxiety in the pit of my stomach for Shesez right now; I didn't even realize I'd grown so fond of him as a person to have this kind of reaction, but thoughts and prayers go out to Shesez and whatever he has to deal with right now.
Amazing episode, and I'm so glad to see Nomad Colossus get a shoutout! I love his channel so much and I am sure the PS4 remake will get a lot of love over there. Can't wait to see what you show us in the next SotC episode!
How cool is this??? Wow!! I've always wanted to see where the colossi were before the cutscenes trigger. Amazing! I've been watching Nomad for a long time, and have to strongly agree with you. He is just as amazing, if not more, than you say he is! Thanks for this video, I enjoyed every minute :D
"The way [the guiding light] looks right now is like something I would put on a poster." Funny enough, they used something like the shot at 7:52 on the front page of their original announcement website. It was a wide shot of the bridge taken at dawn from far away to one side, with the silhouette of Wander on Agro standing on the bridge at the entrance, with the Ancient Sword held towards the sky and the guiding light shining towards the Shrine of Worship. This was a Flash page, so the guiding light was animated like it was in the game, and part of the ambient soundtrack played softly in the background.
@@coldstuff9784 At one point years ago I found the page archive but the animation was Flash so there was only basic text description on the page. I've looked a long time for it and if you can find it you'd be my hero!
Thank you so much for covering my favourite game of all time!!! Much love to you and your content! (Also thank you for reminding me of Nomad, haven't watched him in ages)
What's really cool is that BluePoint games, in the recently released remake for ps4, recognised Nomads contributions by naming a trophy/achievement after them. Players can unlock the 'Boon of the Nomad' trophy for finding a certain easter-egg in the game. Really cool in my opinion to give a nod to the countless hours Nomad has put into the game and SoTC community :)
This video game is a real masterpiece. True art. It would be amazing to see an off boundaries of the latest remastered version, which is in fact a remake.
When the bridge ended it was supposed to be longer to house the Spiders arena (One of the Beta Colossi) When it was cut they pushed the entrance into the Forbidden lands further up. The reason the colossi was removed was because the attack that you were required to do to get to the Spider Colossis sigil was to hard and its attack did too much damage. So it was removed and they pushed the entrance up.
It was, once again, a great journey through a brilliant game. Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to discover all this ! ( I wonder what a boundary break on killer 7 would look like )
Thank you for doing this. One of my favorite games of all time. It certainly sheds some light, particularly the whole low poly/high poly shifting, on why the game's frame rate tanked in so many spots. A very ambitious game for the PS2, very much ahead of its time - the PS2 just couldn't handle it the way it deserved to be.
Hey Shesez, it'd be really cool to see a Boundary Break episode on L.A Noire. I'm not sure if there is any secrets in it but it'd be cool to see it because it's just one of those games you'd never think to put freecam in.
Great video, would've been cool to see all the areas where you fight the colossi though, like the arena with the lizard, the one with the bird, the final boss etc.
Great video! I was wondering if Nomad Colossus would get a mention, glad he did :D Would love to see this get a second part, and even a sequence break! And please, take all the time you need to take care of yourself and your family, no matter how long that may be. We'll all be here when you come back. Best wishes to you and your family

7:57 If it was with ps4 graphics, Agro was right by Wanders side, and the light was pointed at say a dead colossus's hand I would pay any price for that
Btw about disappearing body, it's not about wierd player behavior, it's just middle point of character are beyond the camera collision point. Simply enough it's like low poly disappears way at the distance, the same happens if middle point of the model get too close, to avoid interceptions, like look inside the horse, or some trees, if camera trajectory moves trough, object will be hidden. It's made camera movement smoothly, even if camera trajectory moves trough some object, it's won't block your view totally.
n.b. the guiding light reveal was really cool. I always thought it was just painted onto the player camera... it makes me appreciate this game even more so... job done, dude - awesome.
1:45 Huh, that's neat. There's a little passage along the cliffs, and it looks pretty detailed (some ground texture and even something like a hill in the back). Wonder if that was maybe going to be a path you could come from later on as a shortcut maybe. It's amazing how many areas were made and removed in this game, and still pretty much there, just either culled out or "blanketed" by low-poly mountains to hide them.
Just beat Ico and playing SOTC for the first time on the PS3 and will replay it on PS4 so been watching a lot of videos on them. Hope you revisit this game to look at the other colossi and maybe look at the other TeamIco/genDesign games like Ico and The Last Guardian since there are many interesting things about the world in those as well.
Gestrid According to several sources, the discarded colossi "spider" was supposed to lair outside the main land, you would have to climb up the Shrine Of Worship, cross the bridge, go outside the main land and face it. Sounds amazing, right?
MAJOR SPOILER WARNING for 06:13 - 07:04 of this video! Obviously Boundery Break contains spoilers. But if you intend to beat the game (or the remaster) you should skip 06:13 - 07:04 of this video. Anyway, good work as always, Shesez! Keep it up and take the time you need.

Shadow of the Colossus leaves me in AWE with how the PS2 was able to handle all of this! This game is TRULY ahead of its time!
Yes, one of my favorite PS2 games! Loved being a part of the Secret Seekers in this game
