Sephiroth's "Supernova" move was always confusing. Its powerful enough to completely obliterate planets and move the sun, but only strong enough to do 90-something percent damage to humans

Video games are meant to exaggerate. Especially Japanese video games. This supernova move makes you feel like doom is coming so they went all out. Super ridiculous and that’s the charm.
I'm kind of amazed at how much of these games are actually sets, like in a play. I always just assumed a lot of things, like the Summon animations, were just... Animated. A cut scene. It never crossed my mind that they would be a thing you can move a camera around in.
The cave at 5:00 was originally supposed to be the entrance to the Forest of the Ancients, but the developers decided to move it to a plateau in the Cosmo Canyon region.
Oh, a FF7 video! -Hears music -Gets nostalgic and a bit sad! Crazy how music can just hit you where it hurts and bring out the exact feelings you had when you first connected to the music.

That highwind theme @ 2:49. God, that just made me cry. All the memories rushing in, hair standing up on my entire body. It's just an amazing experience.
That song is already pretty emotionally stirring, but watching the scene with Shera play out and I'm just a wreck. _"Shit! Shera, you goddamn fool! You wanna make me a _*_murderer?!_*_ You're gonna be burned to a crisp! You're gonna _*_die!_*_ Get it?! ...Oh man. The moon... Outer space... My dreams... Yessss. I was at one of the Distant Worlds concerts recently and there's nothing like hearing 5000 people shout Sephiroth's name during orchestral One Winged Angel.
The ONE thing the remake better not fuck up is the near-perfect soundtrack. I accept nothing less than the original soundtrack but with the real instruments that the synthesized instruments were trying to replicate. Then again, this is what I hate about HD remakes, instead of increasing the quality of the music, they instead attempt a try-hard remix to be "hip", Megaman X being the biggest offender.
This music takes me back.. if you werent there you just can't understand how amazing and how groundbreaking, how unbelievable this game was. It looks like an old game now but it's still the biggest technical leap in gaming we've seen. Coming from Atari..8 and 16 bit to this was just something we never imagined. This was beyond huge and like nothing that had come before.
9:17 the reason for this is that if you enter the battle and cast "escape" thanks to Exit materia, he actually stands fully up on the map. It's actually really cool to see

Most important, a big title like that is very likely going to have some secrets hidden away off camera.

Hey everyone Nekorun here, First off great episode Shesez! Secondly the first episode of the new series should be up next week. I was unable to record the voice over for the series thanks to me getting sick and currently having no voice. The Series covers various Persona from all of the series and will be an in depth look at their relevance to the games and the real life gods and demons that they are based on. Anyway that should be released next week and depends on how quick I can regain my voice. Thanks again Shesez, Glad you had fun with the camera. ~Nekorun

I always love your videos because you always sound genuinely enthused and passionate about boundary breaking! Plus really good content always :) Really looking forward to tomb raider! And Pokemon stadium one day
Yeah it shows how they were able to use 1+1 to = 4. Not exactly, but make a scene seem much bigger/like much more is going on, using less assets than it appears.
I've always wondered if the actual universe works like this. Imagine zooming outside spacetime and finding that things are only rendered in when there is an observer, and is otherwise a black void.
Any intelligent life out there may be so far away that they have their own wholly separate observable universe from us. And because of space-time dilation, that the farther away something is the faster it's moving away from Earth, at a certain distance incoming light starts being pulled away faster than it's traveling towards Earth. Meaning it will never reach and we on Earth can never observe farther.
Looking forward to your MGS video. Pretty sure you're aware of the Vent glitch that lets you go out of bounds. I tried that glitch out in the tank hanger, before fighting ocelot, and that back door isn't even accessible.
If I could, I'd get the PC demo of MGSI and see what would happen if you use the Vent glitch to get through the Lvl 6 door in the Jail area. I wounder if the demo would end or if it would crash.
Great video. Gives a great reminder and insight as to just how groundbreaking Ff7 was when it came out. Gives me nostalgic feelings of the first play through aftet it's release.
All that made me think of was Taco Bell's Mountain Dew Baja Blast. I work at Taco Bell and today is my day off. I don't want to think about that on my day off...
Honestly, I came in expecting to see everything I've already seen before, but you've actually managed to show off a complete video with absolutely nothing I've seen before. Kudos to you sir!
I 1st played FF VII in the first day it was released in Europe. Still got that game in the original case. Played it so many times. To look at FF from this new perspective was awesome. Thank you very much sir
This is incredibly original content. It makes it even better that I can tell you enjoy presenting your results. I love these technical details, now I have the urge to play FFVII again! Looking forward to more, especially some Metal Gear material.
Dont worry about your pronunciation of words that are never spoken in a FF. Bahamut is basically universal in how it sounds. Giving Yuffie a roofie is the way to go but Yuffie looks more like muffy. Ether is called eether because it is an actual substance unlike ehther. Aeris is like Eris but the TH is not in all versions so its all depends on what you want. basically, dont worry about pronunciation purists because they can't how the American South talks or Aussies, and have no comprehension of how dialects even form.
Not sure how I've never noticed that Chocobo in the Gold Saucer either. I mean...what did I think it was? I also want to now what the deal is with the doll hidden in the Corel Prison well. That well is just full of mysteries. Finally, where is this T Shirt link I heard about? I'm intrigued that RUclips is looking into ways to help creators turn a profit.
All I'm showing is a picture of FF7 with "Final Fantasy VII" "1997" and "Explore in RUclips Gaming" then "SHOW MORE" or if the description is expanded it lists the animator, the set designer, the category, and the RUclips license and "SHOW LESS". Then Below that all I see is "513 Comments" and "sort by" settings, then finally the comments. By the sounds of things I should see it between "SHOW MORE" or "SHOW LESS" and the number of comments? I mean I might be daft and missing it (Don't rule that out), but I don't see it. :(
That well in Coral prison actually had a purpose, that is in the Japan released version- you can grind down there fighting a enemy with big exp. Or gill
Brilliant, as always. I remember hearing that the well in Corel prison had some unused bad guy in it that can be seen/fought with a hack/debug, but I've never seen that doll thing before! Amazing!
I finally got this on Steam to bring back my childhood lol. Working on my 3rd master save file since I played in 1999. Must say, this is really cool to see to appreciate the ingenuity of the devs to cram all the 3d features and mapping, considering it was the first 3d ff. I'm definitely hitting that sub button. Great content my dude!
+Shesez Could you please do a "Off Camera Secrets" on the Snes game Breath of Fire 2? There is a place in Wyndia top tower where it is mentioned that there is a secret room. But I have never seen anyone ever find that room.
Nice timing! Just started playing FF15 and ben having fond memories of FF7... I feel so old now, but lucky to have spent hundreds of hours of my youth hanging out with Tifa and Red 13... Nice job!!!
You could zoom out of the world map to the exact same distance each time and then travel around and grab a bunch of shots and stitch them together. A full sized detailed world map, that would indeed be sweet.
And I'll be the guy who says they've never played Final Fantasy VII :P Awesome video, though! Always a cool look behind the scenes in games that use 3D models over 2D plains.
You're really missing out. It's easily my 2nd favorite Final Fantasy game (my favorite being FF IX) and one of my favorite games of all time. I had a blast playing it on the original Vita with the OLED screen.
I really recommend it. I don't like the new final fantasy ones in comparison, but the developers on the earlier final fantasy games really used every single resource they could have to make the most captivating and fun experience/story for the players. Play ff7, it's very cheap on steam, on the start it has that rpg thing where you are adapting to the game and the world, but, after some time in, it's like reading a great book. My favorite games are final fantasy 7 first, then final fantasy 6 ( for super Nintendo) and final fantasy 9 (psx as well). I didn't play ff10 thought (sorry), but what I can say from these 3 games I loved is that even thought they are from the same series, each one has their own unique world, style and story. Final fantasy 6 (It is called ff6 in japan and ff3 in western launch) starts with just you playing as a girl that lost her memory and has the unique ability to cast magic and is being pursued by the empire for some evil schemes. And when you have finished this 60 hour (at least) game, you get the feeling that you just read a trilogy of more than 500 pages each book. This Nintendo game, you will get about 20 unique characters on your group, each with their unique stories, personalities, and other unique details/abilities. One of the characteristics of this game I find unique is that the game isn't full happy fantasy, or drama, or creepy, but kind of borderline these topics and there will be ups and downs of these feels along the story. Final fantasy 7 doesn't have a story as large as the snes one. But I do enjoy it a lot as well, they have more tools to keep the player having fun not just with the story but also with the gameplay. The world is basically being dominated not by an empire, but a corporation called Shinra, that has products and services on everything, and the largest city on the world is simply theirs. One of the main issues with this company is that they developed a way to create mako reactors, which produce energy by sucking the very life essence of the planet, but giving them a lot of money and therefore power in the process too. The game starts with you playing as Cloud, a mercenary, working with an eco-terrorist group going to blow up one of these giant mako reactors. The story will develop waaaaaaaayyyy ahead than that. And it will be worth it. Final Fantasy 9 is the last ps1 final fantasy launched, it has a style a little bit more fairy tale almost, where technology has a steampunk style other than cyberpunk on the most of the others. There are humans, rat-people, black mages, hippopotamus people, fish-face people, giant castles, nobles and princesses, etc. Starts with two parallel stories, the first being you playing as Zidane, a human with monkey tail for some reason (there's an actual reason) being part of a group called Tantalus, which are heading on a flying ship towards the city of Alexandria to make the theater presentation of the famous "I want to be your canary", and while the queen and everyone else is distracted with the play, they will kidnap the princess. The other parallel story is you playing a tiny black mage called Vivi, that is a bit shy but just arrived at the city of Alexandria with his ticket he acquired eager to watch the famous "I Want to Be Your Canary" play. I absolutely love everything on this game, the story, the gameplay, the soundtrack, the world. It's not badass like ff7 but it is great. Final Fantasy 8 has more of a romantic style to it. I admit it is quite unique from every other final fantasy too, but I didn't get as much fun playing it as I did these other ones. Play Final Fantasy 7, and if interested, I recommend ff9 as well, both are on steam for pc, they are great. Far more hours well spent than mmorpgs nowadays. I will even show these games to my kids and be the lame old boring dad they will probally think of me, but I will.
I was 11 when I first played FFVII and for like two years a best friend and I tried continuously to figure out if the "vine cave" was reachable... This video helped a bit in just shutting down that memory I had, though it does make me wonder about why they just didn't remove the vine... Then the other skeptic in me goes, "didn't have the time, it was a huge game... get over it."
maybe! Arkham City was suppose to be one of my biggest episodes this year but it ended up doing worse than arkham asylum which was a shock. So I try to imagine knight or origins doing any better and i just dont see that happening. If i do though it'd definitely be Knight next

I always love your videos because you always sound genuinely enthused and passionate about boundary breaking! Plus really good content always :)
Really looking forward to tomb raider! And Pokemon stadium one day
Viewing the textures and animations from the outside just showcases how great and efficient the coding is. Truly masterful!
Yeah it shows how they were able to use 1+1 to = 4. Not exactly, but make a scene seem much bigger/like much more is going on, using less assets than it appears.
Can't wait for the new abridged episode tonight.
Wha... You mean YGOTAS? I think you're on the wrong channel. xD
Buster The Fox
Wait.. You've never heard of Final Fantasy VII Machinabridged by TeamFourStar?
Just search for it. It’s amazing
Great video man, was a little skeptical when i first heard you were doing ff vii, but very good job dude.
I forgot how good ff7 music was
Looking forward to your MGS video.
I remember summoning the Bahamuts and being very impressed--especially with Neo whom I consider to be the most impressive summon of that game.
The man covered FF7 & Crono Trigger.... we must now worship him
Great video. Gives a great reminder and insight as to just how groundbreaking Ff7 was when it came out. Gives me nostalgic feelings of the first play through aftet it's release.
Baha Blaster Boi club where u at, peeps?
All that made me think of was Taco Bell's Mountain Dew Baja Blast.
I work at Taco Bell and today is my day off. I don't want to think about that on my day off...

Nice, and agreed, but I'm not making the connection between Taco Bell and John 3:16.
Dargonhuman ok
Honestly, I came in expecting to see everything I've already seen before, but you've actually managed to show off a complete video with absolutely nothing I've seen before. Kudos to you sir!
Dang im really happy to hear that man. Glad it was a complete take away experience!
Fantastic job dude!!
I 1st played FF VII in the first day it was released in Europe. Still got that game in the original case. Played it so many times. To look at FF from this new perspective was awesome. Thank you very much sir
My chilhood!!! Thanks man for that trip back to memory Ln👏.
I've always said Aeris like Ayris like the A sound in bay.
The Aries aerith divide is about versions more than any think else. U.K version she's aerith
Loved the video. Not NEARLY long enough to do this game justice! So much more I wanted to see!
Obviously this is an older video now, but was there anything noteworthy to the Typhon summon?
I have the week off work and I'm binging your videos 🤓 Thanks for all the awesome content, sir. We all appreciate you!
Not sure how I've never noticed that Chocobo in the Gold Saucer either. I mean...what did I think it was? I also want to now what the deal is with the doll hidden in the Corel Prison well. That well is just full of mysteries. Finally, where is this T Shirt link I heard about? I'm intrigued that RUclips is looking into ways to help creators turn a profit.
you dont see it? it should be directly underneath the video description
I'm not seeing anything about shirts either - a few links to other videos of yours, discord, patreon, twitter... tools... but nothing about shirts.
You guys probably have ad blockers on.
I love that after 20 years we still get to learn more about ff7. Thank you!
You have a gif notification... HOW!!
Edit: oh, I HAVE BEEN NOTICED! I still don't know how tho... 😶
Amazing!
2:30 that's no doll, that's a tony stark plush
which is a doll, a plush Is a doll.
Ha, that was my first thought
I finally got this on Steam to bring back my childhood lol. Working on my 3rd master save file since I played in 1999. Must say, this is really cool to see to appreciate the ingenuity of the devs to cram all the 3d features and mapping, considering it was the first 3d ff. I'm definitely hitting that sub button. Great content my dude!
Fantastic video, looking forward to the FF6 one!
You... realize that FF6 is a 2D RPG, right?
And I know he did Earthbound and all, but thats not quite what is channel is about...
Uwirlbaretrsidma. The only thing I realize is that you clearly haven't watched the whole video.
You do realize he's done a large amount of 2D games, right? I think it's you who doesn't know what the channel is about.
I came from your Guitar Hero episode, I'm very happy you left that challenge to find a video I haven't seen yet!
+Shesez
Could you please do a "Off Camera Secrets" on the Snes game Breath of Fire 2? There is a place in Wyndia top tower where it is mentioned that there is a secret room. But I have never seen anyone ever find that room.
Nice timing! Just started playing FF15 and ben having fond memories of FF7... I feel so old now, but lucky to have spent hundreds of hours of my youth hanging out with Tifa and Red 13... Nice job!!!
will you do ff9 too?
absolutely!!!
off course!
@@BoundaryBreak when?
perfect timing for this video to come out, i started playing ff7 again recently and was playing just before watching this.
Revisiting due to FF7 Remake being out already :)
Wait, there’s a remake? I never played the original!
I don’t own a single PlayStation.
@@dylanmerleking2651 the original is available for like 15 dollars or on gamepass for Xbox
@@bryanl6828 I only have a Wii and 2 Switches (one of those Switches belongs to my younger brother).
@@dylanmerleking2651 it’s also on switch i think
@@bryanl6828 I saw it at a local GameStop in December 2020. Or was it a different place? I don’t know. Yes it on Switch.
what amazing job!!!! it's so beautiful to see how developers had to be artistic back then. these techniques are amazing!
SO. MUCH. NOSTALGIA.
Man the music...
I can still feel the emotions when i played the game for the first time.
It was just awesome.
Ermahgawd you did my favorite game!! :D
love the homage to star tropics. Zoda's Revenge ruled my childhood for a time.
FF7 best video game ever created
This was always somehow outstanding to me how much effort was actually put into creating this game.
Could you please do more of the Silent Hill games? SH3 is my favorite! :)
yep!
Thank you so much!
This video made me appreciate how amazing the Highwind music is
This guy are sick
Off course!
Beacause you’re a puppet!
Your English are good?
You could zoom out of the world map to the exact same distance each time and then travel around and grab a bunch of shots and stitch them together. A full sized detailed world map, that would indeed be sweet.
When are you making a Kingdom Hearts video
I don't know why I am just finding this channel now, but wow! Great content I look forward to watching.
Mayo Rice I know we have the game, but it's my brothers so eh. I've played through most of 8 and 10, though
It's on Android and iOS now, not a lot of a reason to continue putting it off.
VI > VII
Always. Forever. Never forget.
Will there be an Arkham Origins/Knight episode?
maybe! Arkham City was suppose to be one of my biggest episodes this year but it ended up doing worse than arkham asylum which was a shock. So I try to imagine knight or origins doing any better and i just dont see that happening.
If i do though it'd definitely be Knight next
Shesez Ok 👍
I hope either game gets an episode. The Arkham episodes are my favs outside of Yooka-Laylee.
Always love seeing what's behind the scenes. Nicely done!
