In his own words at an interview with Tim Burton, he said that he is not a "talker", he is shy, and he doesn't like to watch himself on the screen. He was articulate when he finally gathered his thoughts. John was on that stand divulging his heart out to everyone. It's generally not a nice thing to do in a relationship to keep bringing up past fights etc, right? Except, is tendency is very detrimental if someone continuously abuses you (mentally or otherwise), because the effect does linger, you just don't really know why... my feeling on the matter, anyway (because I wondered how come it was so hard for me to bring up examples when asked "what did I ever do to you" quite a few times....)

Here’s a nuance the good doctor missed: Johnny allowing Amber’s friends to inhabit penthouses in the same building where he and Amber lived also is a great indicator: it shows that he never tried to isolate her from her friends, which often happens in abuse situations. He welcomed the friends into their lives and also shared his friends with Amber. It’s a shame Amber is twisted in her thinking there was some benefit to setting Johnny up this way. Oh well, I hear they’re taking applications at the Chick-Fil- A.

I had a horrible father, grandfather and a godfather who all sexually molested me until around 4, when my previous communication skills were good enough to have told our secrets and my own sense of a public self about to attend school saved me from further covert sexual abuse to physical and psychological manipulations of a life long imprint in my now life of 71 years. Beatings and Berating was my narcissistic father's sublimations to pull back on the sexual abuse. He had two other daughters to take care of and straighten out as was his personal justification to rape the youngest into her early adulthood. I get how preposterous Heard in behaving but her deepest sickness has just oozed out beyond her uncontrolled behaviors in all the court issues between her and JD. They have both been very sick puppies but her Alpha Narcissism is a hot mess as she just has had to create so much drama around such a short term marriage. Thankfully truth telling, steadied by a huge outpouring of support worldwide far eclipses her fantasy and foolish viciousness is a comedy of continuing errors. She has allowed her actions to speak volumes of the ugliness of her spirit and duel to the death of whomever she has decided has done her wrong. She needs serious psychiatric care. Hopefully JD's healing will continue and for him to come to personal peace. AH is too invested in the mindlessness of how she has been living the high drama of great delusion. THE VOLATILITY OF HEARD/DEPP'S RELATIONSHIP IS NOT THE PURPOSE OF THIS TRIAL. WORKING *BACKWARD* WOULD BE MORE PRODUCTIVE AND INTERESTING IN MY OPINION. FINALLY, DEPP WILL GO ON TO PERFORM FURTHER ROLES; HE'S GONNA BE OK. That comes from being around narcissists. You cannot speak any other way if you want to express any thought to them.
They listen to about 3 words and then either interrupt or zone out and don't care in least about what you are saying. That's why people think they play but you did this or that games. They don't care what they did no matter how egregious, they care a lot about the minor thing you did though so let's change the subject.

I cannot express enough gratitude to Johnny Depp for his fearless truth in this case. The parallel he draws between his childhood and his marriage are priceless. I have NEVER found a Councillor, psychotherapist, psychiatrist etc etc that has show any understanding towards that, and the numbing that we (us survivors) seek from substances. Yay for the courage to deny 'partying' in favour of numbing after such decades of gruelling. The fact that he hardly got over his childhood, immersed in the next childish, power hungry relationship, once again stripping him of his right to be his true self, and the perfect and patient way in which he describes the situations, is FABULOUS. Thank you, Johnny for standing up for millions of us, while standing up for yourself.

It's strange isn't it. I was brought up by an abusive father as my mother died when I was 9. I can't remember my dad calling me by my name, just 'It'. I didn't think anything of it, until I red a book years later called A Child Called It.
I left home as early as I could, but eventually ended up in a violent relationship who used everything I had confided in him against me. That relationship wasn't the last violent relationship, I seem to attract abusive men. It's weird, because I don't want violence, I hate it.
I'm now in a loving relationship, but it's taken me years to find a good man.
I asked my doctor once why it is, and he said people who have suffered violence throughout their lives tend to repeat what's familiar to them. It still didn't make sense, it's not as though I'm some kind of masochist. But, like Johnny, and many other survivors of abuse, we often repeat it.
It's like a dog running back to it's abusive owner and just accepting that person and the life they give it.

I spent 20 years married to someone who was somebody exactly like Amber Heard. One of my favorite stories was a time when I was trying to leave her. I was staying with my mother and my mother drove me to my ex's house to pick up some things. My ex of course didn't take it well even though she put together the box of stuff I was taking and I didn't have to stay there long so it didn't turn into an escalated fight or anything. I just grabbed the box and went to leave. As I was walking down the driveway my started grabbing at me and clawing at me ripping my clothes and grabbing my hair and hitting me. The whole time she was doing that she was screaming for help. I had a box in my hands I didn't even have available hands to defend myself I'm just dragging myself to the car while she pulling at me screaming towards the neighbors like I'm hitting her and hurting her. That was one of the most eye-opening and terrifying moments in my life cuz I realized what she is capable of. That was year three in our twenty years. Everything I hear about Amber Heard reminds me of her. Starting the situations, escalating the situations, and when she finally gets Johnny Depp as furious as she can make him she calls him an abuser. I would spend hours every day being called a loser and being hammered with how I was the reason why everything that was wrong in our lives was wrong and it be minute after minute of her just in the background complaining about me and putting me down and telling me I was stupid and shutting down all the things I had to say. I finally snap and we'd get into an argument and start yelling at each other and she would pull out her phone and start recording me so she could show people how crazy I was. She never recorded hours of her calling me a loser while I'm doing dishes and folding laundry while she's watching TV. No she just shows people the moment that I finally snapped. I started to figure out when she was recording me when all the sudden she'd change her tone and start acting sweet and submissive and I realize oh she's recording me now

Harped on my weight (I weighed 120 as a high school student), always found some way to make me feel like a failure. When my son was born, I swore he would never hear anything like that from me, and would always know that I loved him and believed in him. One day when he was in grade school, he said he thought he was funny looking, and I said, no, he was a smart and handsome fella. He said, "You're my mom, you have to think that!" And I just smiled.

Millions of people have had terrible upbringing, and millions have had it much, much worse than poor JD. And guess what? Millions have had no problems leaving toxic relationships. To think that he himself played no role in the toxicity of their marriage is simply ignorant of the real world and what real couples go through, or just out right dishonest. Instead, she claims she was the one that was attempting to "escape" towards him, which doesn't make sense and contradicts her admissions in the recordings. I noticed that her stories change up and have too much detail, whereas his has remained surprisingly consistent almost word for word. I expect her story to change again because she is on the defense now, it would be weird for her to continue the abuse allegations as strongly. I've witnessed a similar situation where a friend's partner was the aggressor behind closed doors. As friends we knew something was up. She would abuse him, belittle, hit, cheat, gaslight..U name it. But she was a savvy manipulator. She went public with accusations first. Got on the front foot... purely because she knew it was the ultimate way to hurt him.
She would create an argument, then ring his friends or family, claiming he was becoming out of control and violent. She tried to manipulate those closest to him. But in reality, behind closed doors, she was the aggressor and forced the confrontation. It broke my friend. He had no history of being abusive. She did. But he couldn't walk away.
My laboured point is this; there truly are nasty, manipulative people out there. It's not common to see it reach this level..but it happens and it's complicated. No doubt we're more accustomed and conditioned to hearing about men abusing their partners...but being toxic doesn't discriminate on the basis of sex. We are talking about CLUSTER B psychopathology here, that basically means psychopathy and narcissism, just various forms of it. Thing with BPD - especially those impulsive types - is, hell is reserved to close people and most will never see that cruel side of them... it's the Family, partner, close friends, favorite persons who see it, especially in the impulsive/vulnerable BPD types are like that. You gotta understand, when a borderline discards and smear-campaigns, that IS their secondary psychopathy at play. This is what real borderline looks like and the only reason we got a glimpse of it is, Amber took it too far.

@@peter4210 where to start... psychopathy isn't meant to describe a mental illness, it was kind of created as pattern used in profiling.
If we go by mental illness, you will have a hard time even finding a psychopath who does not have obvious Cluster B traits, at least if we go with the DSM, psychopathy basically is part of Cluster B.
In case of borderline, the similarities are so noticeable, they were summed up in the vulnerable dark triad, this kind of known at this point.
Keep in mind, secondary psychopathy is not what people think of when they hear psychopathy and even then, when we let's say speak about serial killer, those are the extreme of the spectrum and mostly factor 1 psychopaths and often have a lot of comorbidities and sadistic/shizophrenic and other elements along their psychopathy, though there are even famous serial killer with a BPD diagnosis.

Johnnie’s open and frank discussion of taking his moms nerve pills starting at 11 was touching. He explained that his Mother was so cruel and he got into a pattern of drug use that was centered around numbing himself from all of his mothers negative traits that produced bad energy in their home. It made me realize that Johnnie is no different than any of us and that killing pain was the reason he used. It was very convincing. I don’t think amber heard got hit. If you watch that testimony, his openness made you sympathetic. And suddenly I realized Amber was not telling the truth.

Having a similar relationship (Johnny’s)with my mother I could relate to the crazy you go through in relationships and trying to deaden the pain. It’s like a pattern where you fall in with people who berate you & mistreat you like that parent. Basically the trial is to stop her from lying about him and trying to ruin his career. I hope the judge, etc see that although both their lives are troubled she should not LIE and try to destroy him. She’s done that enough.

    Big fan, Dr Grande!
    1) physical violence should never be justified by a person’s youthful age. I’ve never touched someone while angry at any age.
    2) while youth can justify some level of immaturity it doesn’t justify all levels of immaturity. 27 year olds can be incredibly amazing and grounded people.
I’m personally interested in this case because I was married to a much older man who was physically assaulted by his previous girlfriend . Then, I got remarried to a person who I knew was an addict and raised two children with him.
Everything about Heard screams danger for someone who is dealing with addiction and suffers from physical assault, especially as a child. Jonny is lucky she didn’t destroy him completely.
I noticed some people are calling her a narcissist but I feel like she’s a sociopath, which are keen grifters. I wonder what other people think.

There seems to be a break between hemispheres. Read up on split-brain experiments and you’ll see what happens when communication between hemispheres occurs. Each hemisphere is a distinct personality, but the high rate of community through the corpus callosum creates a gestalt/amalgam personality that most people are familiar with.
However, each hemisphere is completely capable of experiencing reality differently from the the other. This causes an inside when the the dominant personality is the not the conscious personality. The subconscious personality can present an imagined reality to the conscious personality fooling the conscious personality into believing something other than reality.
Another way to look at it is believing you imagined making one decision even though you actually made that decision. If one hemisphere is in the “backseat,” it will seem like what is really happening only happened in the imagination.
Exacerbating ALL of this is the fact that the anterior temporal lobe plays a key role in memory creation AND aggression regulation. This means, the more agitated one becomes, the harder it is to remember the incident. This what causes those “blind rages” or blackouts during an enraged state.
I do not think Amber is a complete narcissist. I think HALF of her consciousness is a narcissist while the other half is the personality Johnny fell in love with. When all is good, the good Amber is in control. When things become stressful, the good Amber becomes surpassed leading the narcissist to surface.
