There was one recording about JD wanting to leave AH for two hours and she was screaming at him not to leave her while being very aggressive towards JD. It was very, very distressing and frustrating just to listen to it. That clearly showed the borderline’s fear of abandonment.
Agree. That recording was chilling.
It’s sometimes difficult to let go. Maybe she still loved him, even though he’s an alcoholic & derelict drug addict. (A publicly praised one, but still.)
@@PardusPanthera100 it wasn’t about them splitting up. It was about him having just two hours of time to himself away from her. It was very distressing and he couldn’t get her to let him leave for two hours as she was hysterical about being by herself.
And their complete lack of concern for other people.

Dr. Curry specializes in forensic (legal) psychology. She explained that this is why she used the MMPI1 instead of 2 - it's better studied. Individual therapists may want to use the newer test for helping a client, but the goal here is to help a jury understand and trust the diagnosis, so the most verified test is preferable. Secondly, Dr. Curry is no doubt aware of the controversies & "iffyness" about these diagnoses as you, but she MUST use the terms currently standardized in the DSM as applied in the most studied tests bc this is a court of law. Of COURSE if your goal is helping a client you can focus on the fuzziness of the definitions. You should also, as she pointed out, take your client at their word. A forensic psychologists goal is to look at the client more critically. She did in fact spend two very long days with Ms. Heard as well as reviewing everything - FAR FAR more info than most therapists ever get about a client! And she matched that info with the most accurate terms currently usable in court. What she said on the stand was a clarification of those terms to the jury. I'm sorry, but this video seemed to simply misunderstand the testimony and its context.

I agree!! I'd believe Dr. Curry over this guy as a psyc student myself, I'm surprised he didn't mention the difference between her stance as a forensic psychologist and AH's therapists who obviously would believe her. Not to mention Dr.Curry actually worked with AH herself, this guy seems terribly biased in all his videos about this case.

Thank you for not vilifying people with BPD. Getting the diagnosis has made me more self aware and I try to avoid situations where I know I can't handle myself well. Childhood trauma brought this on and to be honest I so glad I can put a label on it and work on myself. Great and fair analysis as always Dr, G.

Just as a mature and respectful person with no dog in this fight - the evidence in Amber's own words of her downplaying hitting another person as not punching - is indicative that she is several cards shy of a full deck.
Yes! That was crazy… kept rationalizing and justifying why she hits him. If you stop leaving when I’m berating you, then I won’t hit you. 😨
The highlight for me was AH in recording saying go on then tell the world that you JD are a victim of DV, as if anyones gon believe you. Thats what gave her full confidence that anything she said would be believed whether true or not.

Aren't you discounting the effects of living with an addict? What lengths do you think people who live with addicts go to stop their loved ones using. They don't just hand them the car keys and say have it. People barricade doors and tell them not to leave. Depp has lost half a billion dollars - yes billion - due to his addiction and the impact that abuse played on his lack of attention to running his business portfolio.
Based on those audio tapes, it doesn’t sound like she was interested in helping him become better. Her preventing him from leaving was because she’s insecure and controlling.
All I have to say is, anyone who is capable of pooping in someone's bed is a sick, frightening person.

I think she delivered an excellent, seamless testimony. I’m in the field and was impressed. There was no ethical pitfall. Proud to be her colleague.
Also she took into account ALL the evidence - which I inferred to mean, thought not expressly stated, those video/audio recordings in which Amber clearly demonstrated behaviors that Dr. Curry used to explain the personality disorders. She was quite impressive - stood her ground and defended her opinions. Dr. Grande would cause doubt, which I don’t think would serve justice especially in this case, which would be a travesty.
@@tbd419 I don't think he's causing doubt, per se. Sounds to me like he's just adding nuance. And while I don't agree with him on every point he's making, I appreciate that he's adding to the discussion so that I can prevent myself from gradually becoming mired in my own biases. I like subtle and reasonable pushback every now and then.
I'm gonna be honest, Dr. Curry appears to specialize in PTSD, so I am going to trust her reading of the matter. Additionally, the lawyer’s attempts to argue bias were pathetic and openly misleading at best (e.g., the whole "you had a date with Johnny but we're not going to reference his whole legal team being there").
PTSD specislists who spew the contents of their sessions Publicly should know that that would only WORSEN PTSD. Their motivation for doing so is clearly QUESTIONABLE. NOT acting in patient’s interests- QUITE the OPPOSITE.

Sounds more like Johnny treated her like a house guest. I’d do the same. Basic hospitality. Everyone who knows him has described him as a super nice guy. Hell, I’m the same way. Anyone who’s been in my home I’ve offered something to eat or drink.
@@MakotoKinoSailorJupiter2020 You can definitely argue the "ethicality" of having an interview for a job that has you "testifying" against the person you're visting at their home (english is not my main language, hopefully that made sense) and you could say that there's a "Why would you do that?" question in there.. but regardless of that, why does that REALLY matter? Can that one thing crumble all her credentials and under oath sayings?
They cut her off but she was talking about her "retainment agreement" and how in there she specifies "I'll testify as a forensic psychologist and thus my findings are bound to the fact finder, not to one side specifically" (paraphrasing).

I grew up with a mother who’s behavior was exactly like Ambers’ and I can tell you, at the age of 17, I had to escape my home because it’s extremely difficult to live with these kind of people.
Perhaps a better way of viewing it would be living with your mother, not these people. These people is discriminatory and untrue. BHP is not a one size fits all disorder.
Similarly for myself. I tried to self refer to a childrens hostel at 15 and ran away at 16 and never returned. My young brother tragically killed himself a decade ago and I have become fully estranged from my mother. Her last kick off was in response to me visiting my grandfather who is currently being treated for cancer earlier this year. I have finally self referred myself to therapy to address the PTSD as a result of my childhood abuse and brother's death. My mother has been diagnosed with BPD however I was an adult by the stage. I liked Dr Currie’s evidence. Her 15 years of assessment and treatment of veterans in particular, gave her a lot of credibility in my eyes.

I would agree except for this trial specifically. She’s clearly biased and why? Amber screwed herself. No need to make things up.
I thought she held back what she REALLY wanted to say. What was interesting was the Gaslighting style of Heard's attorneys towards a mental health professional but they have been pretty brazen so far.
She got $8 mio directly in their divorce settlement, he had to pay their entire accumulated debt of $12 mio from while they were married and he had to pay $500,000 in her legal bills. Further he had to gross that up to cover the tax burden. On top of that there was a non-disparaging clause in their agreement. So he was out over $30 mio for a 15 month marriage. Then after all that, she writes this editorial, that was mostly fiction, and violated their non-disparaging clause. She is clearly greedy beyond all measure, vindictive, irrational and well out of touch with reality.
Non-disclosure Agreement, but yeah.
That would make a pretty strong closing statement. Let’s hope the jury is on board…
Mr. White said she asked to have the amount grossed up for taxes, but never said that Johnny actually did that.
@@keithl836 Does the Jury have access to social media? If so, there’s no doubt in my mind that they will side with Johnny.
I know that’s not the way these things are supposed to work, and the Jury is not supposed to be influenced, but with this type of case I believe it is important for the betterment of society.
Listening to everyone else’s opinions especially those who have suffered from a partner that had these disorders and can recognize them in Amber is very good information and is quite telling.
I’ve never hoped for anyone to win a case as bad as Johnny. I’m not saying he’s “innocent” but what Amber did to him is evil beyond measure, and I’m under the belief that it is very likely that any wrong doings on behalf of Johnny were severely influenced by Amber’s evil intentions.
The way she recorded Depp in his kitchen almost made it seem like her plan with this marriage was to intentionally beat Johnny down to nothing so he would divorce her so she could get all of his money… She was supposed to donate it, yet she lied and kept it.
The mental torture that Johnny went through is so sad, especially given that his mother treated him the same way, and I bet that brought up a lot of emotional instability within him.
If this case continues down the same path that it’s been heading than Amber deserves to be locked up for life.

I had a friend who is EXACTLY like Amber. The relationship was so distressing and exhausting. Every little thing I did and said was met with skepticism and if I hung out with other friends she would act so cold towards me. She told me she hated me, but loved me at the same time. That I was her "best friend" yet she couldn't stand me. She would text me threatening and belittling messages non stop for hours-sometimes from 6pm-4am until I would respond to her. This was in response to me not wanting to be her friend anymore because I couldn't take the abuse. It was so bizarre and left me feeling so confused and tormented. I feel so much for Johnny. I know exactly what he's feeling being involved with someone like Amber. These people need psychiatric treatment on a daily/weekly basis.

This might sound unsympathetic - believe me, your real need is to find something inside yourself that you know you really trust, something ‘unshakeable’: this isn’t something that you might do in order to impress others, or gain their approval...you’ve been through so much, hoping for a positive outcome, which doesn’t come....such people are not capable of empathy,
so are beyond help... it’s up to you to seek help with strengthening your boundaries, especially if you’re an empath, as I think perhaps you are; certain people might make it clear that the only person they can turn to for help...is YOU!

I'm so glad to read that you said "I HAD a friend...." So glad you're out of that relationship. Good for you!! I had an abusive BF and by the time we broke up about 9 months later, I felt relieved, but it took me years to recover from the abuse.
My son is almost 23 now and from his birth, his mother acted like this and it broke me more times in those 23 years than I can even say. Dealing with her behavior over these years caused me to breakdown so badly, I ended up in jail and have a criminal record. It really really caused me to really believe I was crazy,.
Based on the diagnosis, the witness testimonies, and the recordings of Heard, it seems to be accurate. There’s absolutely NO WAY that her behavior could be considered to be normal. It is not. She would not let Johnny leave, begging him to stay, saying he’s killing her, very dramatic and over the top. She is manipulative, lies, tries to make herself look good, blames everyone else for her behavior, drinks a lot but points the finger at others for doing it, makes up domestic abuse to get more publicity and sympathy, not caring that she was ruining someone’s life. She shows no compassion, no remorse, and no guilt.

They’re both in need of help, but personally I find him worse. A lot more substance abuse. Chaotic lifestyle that is impossible to maintain. ..More of a double personality, thus more hidden re his bad side. Only the very close could see.. Thus, more difficult to define in public. And I think he knows this. And wants to maintain his public image. Thus, the lawsuit. But it’s not looking fantastic when one hears the tapes or text messages. Maybe he should retire. At least take the time to get cleaned up.

Dr. Curry has a backbone; she's brave, bold, well armed with all her evidence that was well researched. She was thorough and well spoken and did not hesitate to tell that foolish lawyer, " No, that's not entirely right." When that incompetent lawyer tried to back her in a corner with pathetic accusations, Dr. Curry would have none of it! Yet, she was soft and respectful. She's a good mentor. She handled herself and the muffins well!
She knows her subject and is no fool! I was impressed. Confident, but not arrogant. She should have a show.
It’s been reported that at least 2 maybe 3 writers from the ACLU actually wrote the article in which AH accused JD of domestic violence. The original write up named JD by name which was removed. This entire saga appears to show malice with intent to destroy and it did destroy a brilliant career. Actually two careers as AH isn’t looking good either. All of this rather shows that the “me too” movement was too one sided to begin with. Women can and do engage in DV and many other offenses. What a mess.
Not sure if it destroyed AH career - she did not have a big career until Johnny used his influence to get her into big budget movies. Agree with ur comment about MeToo. Not just the fact that women can engage in DV, but women who falsely accuse men of being DV abuse and intend on benefiting monetary-wise or fame-wise By being a victim(like AH). When I was a young child (around age 6) I remember staying at my cousin's house whose mother (my aunt) had BPD and HPD. During this visit, she got into a fight with her boyfriend at the time and he stormed out. She was screaming and carrying on and it scared me, but my cousin just kept playing with her dolls because I guess she was used to it. When things quieted down, I went to see my aunt and she was in the bathroom looking in the mirror and SMACKING THE HELL out of her own face with a hairbrush (those big paddle brushes). She saw me in the mirror and didn't care, she just kept smacking herself in the face. I asked what was wrong and she very calmly and sweetly said, "Oh, I'm fine. Go play with Jessica." The following few days were filled with complete and utter chaos as the police came in and she cried and cried about the fight she'd been in with this guy. My parents came and got me and I couldn't really grasp the seriousness of what had gone on. From what understand, the guy initially got in trouble, but my aunt magnanimously bailed him out and dropped the charges. I never saw him again. I never went to stay with her again and instead, my cousin came and stayed with us during the summers.
What a scary experience for you. Thankfully it wasn’t your norm like your poor cousin.

@@BritInvLvr Unfortunately, she grew up as an only child as her half-siblings were grown when she came along. When we were teenagers we spent a lot of time together, but ended up drifting apart because she had a lot of anger issues. However, she grew into an incredibly stable, healthy adult after getting away and seeking therapy. She has since cut her mother off completely. I really appreciate your kind reply. :)

This trial has helped me to define, by name, and by behaviors, my mother's illness. She has had BPD and NPD her whole life (denies any disturbance and states her intelligence supercedes therapist's). Just a few days ago, she once again recounted to me an event fabricated from her own imagination. She repaints reality to everyone around her when it's her own poor behaviors or comments that have instigated anger, hurt, and at times, trauma. The difference between my childhood and the present, is that now I have 62 years of experience and choices. Sometimes I simply say, "That's not what happened", or "That's not true". Other times, I say, "I don't want to talk about this anymore." or "I've got to go". My Mom, more than anything, wants an audience, wants admiration, wants people to defer to her "decades of executive experience" (reads resume). She will never change. She has told me that she can lie and no one will ever know it, and has, the maximum damage has been to her children and my Dad. Me, my sisters, and brother had intermittently joyous and yet very unhealthy and disrupted childhoods, which included sporadic beatings and slaps, shaming, and gaslighting, which have carried into our adult lives under the umbrella of denial. Mom can be generous, and she is incredibly smart and creative, achieving a very high position with a Forbes 50 company as a financial planner, made millions of dollars in salary without a college degree, meanwhile "raising" four kids at the same time. You can imagine how formidable she is. As a little kid you don't stand a chance. As a teenager, you may love, but you've learned to hate, in a twisted codependency. Not even my Dad, who was a highly educated chemist and plastics engineer and adopted all four of us kids (sacrificing having any of his own with Mom) was disillusioned, sad, and dissatisfied, right up to the day he died a few years ago from myeloma. Until now, I never sought treatment for my own demons, which is the direct result of being raised by one mentally ill parent; a near carbon copy of Heard, and the other parent, who was quiet, intelligent, and witty, whom everyone loved; a close copy of Depp (minus the alcohol and drugs). I intend to exorcise the monkeys on my back and achieve balance and happiness. Sorry for the diatribe - I know it's boring for most, but I just had an epiphany sitting here in my living room watching this after 10 days of following the trial. I hope other people out here in the cosmos who've experienced life with a disturbed parent also acquire benefits from the behaviors, evidence, and testimony revealed in this case that far exceed its entertainment value for others. Hi Lyn! I loved your comment! It was not boring at all, but fascinating. And I always love to hear about insights and epiphanies and growth people make, and how they do it. I am also your age, and grew up in a very dysfunctional household. Quite different, but difficult. What I kind of struggle with currently, and have deep sadness about, is the fact that I have lost my remaining family of origin members (brother, sister, mom) within the past four years. My dad died in 1983. Except for my mom, we've all had substance abuse/addiction issues. I still have my daughter, which I am grateful for. I think I started out here with something wise and insightful to say - haha, I guess the thought got lost. 🤪 But I got your message that something positive can be gained or learned even from negative situatiions. So again, just wanted to express my appreciation for your sharing.

After having listened to the recording Amber made of her own argument with Depp, she reminded me so much of my own mother and a couple of other people I thought were friends over the years.

There’s no reconciliation with a person with this particular disorder, as the disorder precludes it even if the other person is willing. That’s the hardest part to healing. It’s crazy making, and makes it difficult to trust others as well.
Heard was not insane. She was trying to stop him leaving the house to take ever greater quantities of drugs. He refused to discuss his sobriety. All partners of junkies try to barricade the doors when their loved ones are hell bent on using. After Heard left Depp. Her role fell to security. Two ex-police officers - Arreola and Sanchez - who worked as security for Depp in late 2016 and early 2017 won $25m in the Los Angele Labour Court for having to work in unsafe work conditions. They complained that they found themselves transporting illicit drugs, wiping cocaine off Depp's face, protected him from his own vices and babysat his minor children while Depp was using Class A drugs. They get $25m and Heard is abused when she fails to donate the rest of her divorce settlement as she is left to fight Depp out in courts across the world. Like Heard they said Depp was very nice when sober.
My job involves psychometry so this testimony was especially fun to me. She did a fantastic job explaining the technical aspects of the evaluation process.
It kind of amazes me how the stupid MMPI is still considered some kind of gold standard "valid instrument".
Casey Anthony's MMPI results scored that she was "normal" with only "normal levels of narcissism for her age" (paraphrased).

I agree 100%. I found her to be very clear and well spoken. I loved how she was clarifying the dimensions of the test. It was definitely a learning experience for me just listening from a big fan of psychology.
She used the MMPI she did bc it’s the most researched. She was asked why she chose that as opposed to the most recent, actually. She also explained the malingering point.

I think it would’ve been helpful if you had gone into what Dr. Curry said about the difference between a treating clinician and someone in her role who is doing more of an analysis for court purposes.
As she correctly pointed out, it would be highly unethical of her as a treating clinician to offer a testimony like this because as a treating clinician she is meant to be an advocate for Amber.
So I think Johnny’s team did a good job of pointing out that there may be differences in Dr Curry’s testimony compared to what previous medical documentation stated, but that is because those notes were written by treating clinicians who took Amber at her word.

You're absolutely right, as a psyc student you are taught to believe your client as your job as a therapist is to provide warm and unconditional care, not try to find out what really happened. All of this guys video is so biased for AH it's unreal lmao

The point about the PTSD part and why this psychological assessment was asked for AH and not JD. This is because AH claims to have PTSD in result of JD’s abuse. A psyD is a very credible degree, as these doctors see patients in many different types of ailments. They are extremely capable of diagnosing many behaviors.

AH in her counterclaim stated that she suffered ptsd as the result of the abuse. Judge asked for her mental evaluation and ptsd diagnosis, so JD team were able to to appoint an expert.
What Jonny is doing is exposing the world to the legacy of abuse. He is actually exposing everyone to what the victims of domestic abuse live with and lose. Amber's mental state is not an excuse for what she has done if the court finds she lied. I thank Jonny for his courage.

From what I remember, the lawyer asked which item, more than 65, was the most important to you and she said that there was more than one above 65 and she would need to look at her study. Amber’s lawyer didn’t allow her to look at her study. It looks like Amber is clearly not normal.

I understand the points you are making. But I found Dr. Curry to be spot on. Amber is not all that unique in her behavior. Her circumstances may be different than the average young woman but her behavior is a very common set of responses to a specific set of needs. She has a need to control, a need to be loved (which we all have) but her need is to be loved "exclusively" in every way...romantic, platonic, famial. She needs to come before all others. This I believe is very pertinent to Dr. Curry's assessment. She needs to be everything to her romantic partner. Age is another factor...what generally is important to a 58 yo differs from a 30 yo. There is so much to unpack here. Dr. Curry didn't have the luxury of time. She relied on notes taken from others, her own expert opinion and in this case, the tests administered were benchmarks in the absence of time to get to observe her...although it wouldn't take very long to see through her. This is not to say that Mr. Depp has his own set of disorders. However, the task at hand is to determine who was "abused". It appears tgey both were verbally abusive, but I'm willing to go as far as saying...she was physically violent on another person. He took out his frustrations on inanimate objects. Substance abuse played a role in both their unsavory behaviors.
Even hearing Heard's testimony on the stand Wednesday and Thursday... I found it very hard to listen to. I'll leave the blatant overacting and lying aside (that's a whole 'nother discussion) for a moment. I tried to look at what was behind that, what I saw in the in-between, I tried to abstract from the actual content of what she was saying. And what I noticed was that whenever she was describing physical assaults (which are, btw, completely unreconcilable with the evidence she offered), she goes on at length about worrying about whether the bruises would be visible, worrying whether she'd be able to cover it all, worrying what people might see, some of the most 'painful' moments for her seemed to be moments of indignation and embarrassment.
All of these come across to me as being very much focused on image, on how she's perceived by others. But very little was described about any pain she felt - also a red flag... someone who has been assaulted to that extent would remember *some* pain at least, right?
She also keeps looking at the jury like she's checking whether she's convincing them, trying to almost laser her messages into their eyes, staring them down as if to dare them to disbelieve her. Aside from the fact that I highly doubt someone who has been assaulted as much and as violently as she described would have the flat-out courage to stare a (predominantly male) jury straight in the eyes for 10+ hours straight, it also signaled to me even more concern about how she was perceived.
Another thing is that she doesn't seem able to accept any kind of responsibility for her actions whatsoever. She keeps portraying herself as the immaculate perfection of purity, the poor victim who has done nothing wrong. If I remember correctly, Depp didn't try to absolve himself from all the blame, and he admitted to some stuff that made him look bad. Of course it's difficult for everyone, but he did it. He didn't try to manage his image to perfection, like Heard seems to be doing. The one instance she describes hitting him, she says it was in defence of her sister who was allegedly almost pushed down the stairs by Depp, almost as if she's trying to offload at least part of the blame onto her sister. I don't know, it just stuck out to me that the only time she admits to hitting him is in a situation where a third party is involved. I imagine she might view it as more heroic or admirable to throw a punch to save a sister than to defend yourself.
And just to be clear, I don't think Heard is evil. I don't even think 'evil' is that much of a concept at all. In fact, I think 'evil' is a word people use to reject responsibility for caring for another human being simply because of their actions. I do think she's actively doing things to hurt and damage Depp, for sure. No one with a clear conscience would go on the witness stand so blatantly over-embellishing lies of horridly violent abuse which obviously can't (fully) be true considering the available evidence. That much is clear. She clearly doesn't have any qualms about wrecking Depp in this case. However, I also don't think she has the same moral perceptions of good and bad as we do. In my experience with people with Cluster B personality disorders, they view it as something good to do whatever it takes to save yourself and save your image/resources/safety/whatever. They don't see it as something morally wrong. And I simply don't think she does either. I think she's just doing this to save herself. She doesn't need to be demonized or vilified or nailed to a cross, she needs help, therapy, and treatment. She's still a human being. And while she's doing things that are - at least to us - very much objectionable, she's still a fellow human being. Her actions are wrong, but the person is still a person.

I never considered that she might not apply the same system of "right vs wrong" that most of us understand, to herself. But when it comes to the subject of "evil", which I think does exist, maybe more in the realm of philosophy or spirituality rather than psychology, I do see her behavior cross into the realm of evil. Nonetheless, the verbal and emotional abuse hurt me very, very much. Your comment struck me, because, regarding my ex being "guilty" or not, I just can't figure out an answer by myself. Yes, she needed treatment. Yes, she was in pain and not happy. No, she didn't do it "on purpose", although at moments she was acutely aware of her behavior, it was her condition. And she was under medication and followed by both a psychiatrist and a psychologist. Yes, she needed help, and care and compassion. That's also one of the reasons why I didn't flee right when the abuse begun (who leaves a loved one when in desperate need for help ?). Anyway... Yes, she wasn't "evil", like you said. But... was she not ? I had a severe depression which whom I'm still struggling with two years after the relationship is over. My psychological pain and distress was real (still is, but much milder now). I kind of... need to see her as a very, very nasty and vile person. But can't... I loved her so much.
I dated a guy for three years, and I lived with him for part of that. He started out being very sweet and loving and seemed like it was meant to be at first. It didn’t take long to reveal another side.
He didn’t want me spending time with friends, got very angry and said it was our time. He had ambition and would even talk to an investor and start his own roadside business, but he never paid his bills. He lied to his landlords then lied to me about it too. When I tried to break up with him, he started shaking and crying, telling me that every woman in his life had left him, including his mom when he was only 8. Of course, it worked, and I felt sympathy and didn’t want to be the cause of his hurt.
I once found antipsychotic medicine in the bathroom that I asked about, and that sent him into a rage. He threw them in the trash and said he didn’t need them. He cheated on me, but of course when I found out, I was crazy, just jealous, and he would never do that to me.
Once, when he worked for a company doing deliveries, he told me he had fallen off their porch due to a bad railing, and he fell pretty far and got injured. When I got in his truck, I saw the wound was a straight cut that wouldn’t have happened from a fall, and I found a package of straight razor blades on the floorboard of his truck. I felt like I was in a horror movie, realizing at that moment that he had cut his own face to claim that he was injured at their house. He took them to court over it. He also claimed to have broken his tooth on an olive pit on a Domino’s pizza.
He was always pushing for us to get married, but I refused, which angered him tremendously. I found out that he’d been married 6 times by that time from his brother who informed me of a lot of things.
He would get this look on his face, and I knew he had to have an argument with me, but I’m the type to avoid all confrontation, so I wanted away. I’d try to leave, and he would take my keys and sit in front of the only door so I couldn’t. I’d go to another room to get away, and he’d follow me, trying to push my buttons to get a fight started. I felt like a caged animal.
He once backed me against the kitchen counter, towering over me, in my face, yelling at me, getting spit on me. I had to grab him by the throat to get away. I felt like I was always getting so worked up by him that I wasn’t myself anymore. He yelled at me in public, humiliating me. Another time, we were sitting next to each other, having an argument, and as I went to take a drink of water from my bottle, he so forcefully grabbed it that it busted my lip and got water everywhere. I used to see other couples and try not to cry because I just wanted a loving relationship, and I definitely didn’t have it.
I ended up getting an apartment, unbeknownst to him, and I slowly moved my stuff out while he was gone. When he went out of town for the weekend I had family help me move my big furniture out and into my new apartment. It felt like such a relief to finally be free from all of that.
It sounds horrible what you went through, I'm glad you are free of this hell! I had a co-worker in a similar position, but she never saw it, but we did. Every time we tried to make her see sense of her reality, she would always get defensive and downplay the whole thing. Extremely sad to see people who choose to live this reality.

I spent five years of my life and $26,000 in student loans which in today's dollars is $67,000 on my Masters and Doctorate degrees in the field of Education. Dr. Curry's getting a practitioners degree is as challenging as a Ph.D and both require exhaustive dissertation work. That said Dr Curry on her bio noted receiving a Master of Science in Clinical Psychopharmacology (MSCP) which makes her eligible for prescriptive authority in military jurisdictions. She has been trained in PTSD through Veteran's Affairs. Clearly, in my layman opinion, she is saying all things considered Amber Heard is not being forthcoming in her portrayal of her issues. I think Dr. Curry has the standing to do so. And remember this--a lot of independent parties like the police, the man who works at the building of Johnny's penthouse and others never saw any bruises of Amber's. Plus, no other woman came forward saying Johnny abused them. Bottom line: Dr. Curry's opinion is not an outlier.
Nah. The points Dr. Grande made are real. It’s pretty implausible to think you could rule out PTSD with any level of certainty. For someone in the mental health profession to talk about anyone with mental illness the way she did didn’t really seem right. You just can’t assume you can know or diagnose a person with such certainty.
I could not agree more with you. It's the whole picture. Plus a research based PhD is not better in the PRACTICAL field. I am 44 years old now and I started to believe that many people prefer the ivory tower and look down on people who have practically been there longer and more experience. I was a research assistant in the ivory tower, that's why I can tell. It's not fair.

I have. 600 cases where our teachers supervise you and ask you why it's this and not that. You start with a "Verdachtsdiagnose" and then after hours of exploring further, you come to a conclusion. Why do we do this? Because it's important to us which treatment we will choose. If someones lies and manipulates a lot about something, I believe it´s okay to not feel too much compassion with the person who manipulates and got cought red handed during a very extended psychological evaluation. She´s a trained forensic psychologist, which means she is trained to assess behavioural, emotional and psychological problems and disorders and mental health status for COURT. Her role in court is completely different than being in her role as a clinical psychologist in private seesions with a client. Don´t confuse the role she has in court. Her job is to interact with attourneys and apply a thorough psychological assessment of the person in question. which she did, including all the prior diagnoses of former therapists of AH videos , audios , several tests and follow up interviews.
I’m trying to be open minded with this case, but I just can’t get on board with you. Honestly, based on those voice recordings of Amber and Johnny, it is crystal clear as to who was the abuser in the relationship. Those recordings, in addition to the entire situation going on between the couple, back up Dr. Curry’s analysis of Amber. I respectfully disagree that Dr. Curry was bias in her opinion. She was incredibly professional and had years of experience in the field. She’s not some fan girl crushing on Johnny Depp like Amber’s lawyers would like people to think. They saw an attractive woman speaking on behalf of Johnny Depp and threw all her credentials out the window. That’s cheap and not a good look on their part.
I don't think Dr grande is siding with amber here, I think he just pointing out that the clinical psychiatric assessment isn't necessarily 100% accurate because it never is with anyone, we are too complex...but I don't believe he was offering his opinion on who was in the wrong here.

Well, your credibility as a psychologist just took a header. Are you watching the same trial we are? She fits all the criteria pretty clearly once you review her actions and her recordings. Though I will agree, narcissistic disorder is in there. I also don't think she held the test up to be the end all be all of diagnostic tools. They asked if she had confidence in it and she does. Thats a direct answer to a direct question. There's never any reason to get into more detail than that unless its obvious the lawyer is trying to imply something inaccurate by asking the question... such as the damn muffins.
His lawyers are on the ball and they chose an excellent psychologist. I can't tell if Heards lawyers are seriously terrible or if they're struggling so bad because they literally got nothing to work with and they know she's guilty af. I guess its not impossible to be both.

I actually telephoned Amber’s lawyer yesterday and left a message to check this video out. I suggested to rebut with at least least one psychologist and 2 psychiatrists of their own.

Her own parents texted apologies to Johnny saying that she made up the domestic abuse because of her lawyer's counsel that she would get nothing in the divorce settlement.

@@godzillamanstreb524 There was a guy who did extensive videos and analysis of the JD v AH saga on RUclips. This was in the beginning when AH first made the claims of abuse. I followed it quite extensively, and he did show screenshots of this particular message. I do recall reading a message from one of her parents, apologising to JD, saying that AH only took this course of action because her lawyers told her that she was going to lose everything in the divorce settlement. In fact, when she met JD in the hotel (the time she asked him to break the restraining order), she did say something to the same effect to him. She said she didn't want to do 'this', but her lawyers advised to take this path. Of course, she could have been saying this to shirk responsibility for her actions and deeds. Her parents too seemed to blame the lawyers for ill-adviced, leading to this whole mess. I, on the other hand, think she has to take responsibility for her actions!

To me it sounds like Amber's mom was acting as Amber's flying monkey, saying that Amber was getting served 30 days eviction notice from her own landlord--this is after the divorce I think, and saying that Amber had to file because the layers pushed her to do that. Her mom is deceased now, but I almost laughed because thats what flying monkeys do.Then she was buttering Johnny up by saying, :I love you, son." They just couldn't handle their tough and mean but cowardly little princess. All of these comments about how good his video is in response to the testimony..... It's clear he didn't even watch the full testimony. He's making points that she clearly addressed in her testimony. Also not considering that she wrote a 20 something page report that clearly isn't going to be fully covered in this testimony. Most importantly not noting that Depp's team hired her to just review case documents and give and opinion. The COURT compelled her to complete a full evaluation to assess PTSD. I used to like this channel and then he got popular and seems to just crank shit out for views and seems narrow minded. Thats kinda how I felt with the Astroworld incident video he made. He didn't really do much research on the incident and titled his video as human stampede when it was a crowd crush indicent which is completely different.
After watching AH's testimony, and rewatching Dr. Curry's testimony, she nailed it. AH was acting as if she was in a play. Her speech was very colorful, flamboyant and she would switch emotional extremes at will. She shows mimicry of subject, and she produces lack of emotion appropriate for the situation.
The funny thing is all of ambers recordings and “evidence” completely backfired on her and made her look extremely evil and narcissistic 🤦🏾♂️
I think those of us who have suffered at the hands of personality disordered persons are happy to see this abuse legitimized. Yes that would cause us to be biased.
Yes. I do not in anyway want to belittle anyone who has BPD and there are various shades of BPD as Dr. Grande has stated but I suffered at the hands of a family member who had this disorder and I am not trying to blame everything that went wrong in my life on that but it really messed me up and I have had to see many therapists throughout the years to handle the aftermath.
This case is bringing mental health issues to light and with the right therapist and appropriate therapy there is hope for all involved.
I think this case has lots of people triggered and thinking.
Once we see things in hindsight after experiences in dealing with these persons it’s a 20/20 hindsight we never unsee.

I knew what Heard was as soon as I heard Depp say that she would insist he'd go to bed at the same time than her and that she'd go crazy if he didn't, because I lived with a woman who was exactly like that, and I recognized her in all that was said later, the constant drama, violence, attention seeking... Histrionic personality disorder, a nightmare for people who have to live with such creatures. And yes, she was also bipolar and she had an entire bottle of vodka every day. Needless to say it didn't last very long.

"Not all".... but more than enough to warrant not trusting any. If people with BPD feel they get a bad rap, you have only other people with BPD to blame. Its not "stigma", or prejudice, its cold, hard, experience. Overwhelming amounts of diagnostic history and experience. Having depression is stigmatized. Not BPD. That diagnosis is a warning label. It doesn't mean the Person is "evil"... it means their Behavior can't be trusted.

As a practicing therapist I appreciate your perspective that bias exists and objectivity can be elusive in helping people. Assessments are even more challenging and I’m glad you dispelled the myth that they represent exactness. We do the best we can in understanding people. So interesting. I have watched every minute of this trial so far, and as someone on the outside looking in, it strikes me that Amber Heard fits ALL the testimony by "experts". I believe her diagnosis is complex, but I have a hard time buying that treatment would be so complicated that it cannot even be begun. She needs help if she wants to have even the slightest chance of healthy wellness and fulfillment in life.
But a BPD/histrionic patient MUST want to sincerely work on themselves. That insight is often vacant in these unfortunate, destructive people.
And she needs to get help cuz now she has a young child she’s raising. And that is really concerning. I’m convinced my mother had bpd and it takes a lifetime to get straightened out after being brought up by someone with those issues
I definitely think Amber’s own recordings of conflict validate Dr Curry’s evaluations.

I told my wife Friday that the recording of how Amber argued was how my ex fought with me. She is clinically diagnosed with Borderline personality disorder. This was before this testimony.
After being around one person with this condition you recognize it in anyone you meet who may have it on your journey in life.
I think a lot of people are realizing they may be in or have been in an abusive relationship, and not just assuming that they were "mutually abusive ".
I totally agree, I heard the the hour long recording of her and Johnny before this testimony came down and I told people that recording gave me flashbacks, my ex was diagnosed with BPD by a therapist, I was with her for 5 very long years she especially did not want me to leave during arguments she felt I was abandoning her. she never got violent but it was the most abusive relationship I was ever in.

I know someone with BPD. The relationship was so volatile I ended the friendship, only to feel sorry for her, be abused and "dump her" as she called it. Over and over. She has made my life a nightmare. I keep praying one of these times I stop feeling sorry for her and walk away for good.
I've known 2 people with BPD and sadly what you've experienced is all too familiar. It's hard knowing these people are genuinely struggling but its also important to set boundaries and make sure you're not being abused and manipulated. Sometimes it's best to part ways

Omg thank you. Ive been so upset since hearing that diagnosis.. which i share after an attempt to leave the world 13 years ago. Ive since gotten my masters in psychology just to understand what i was diagnosed with fully.. my trust issues from childhood made it impossible for me to receive dbt or any treatment. I was just way too jaded and stubborn with the idea that “i raised myself. No1s ever cared. And now that i know what the issue is.. ill fix this myself too”.. this has been my best and worst symptom regarding trust.. bc i strive to always learn anything thats important to me to do the research myself. So i got my masters and through self awareness therapy on my own dissecting my thoughts using splitting methods.. im now pain free. I still have the same intrusive thoughts.. but after years of practice ive learned how to handle my triggers and how to avoid others.. it takes work.. but im proud how i did it..
With that said, the diagnosis given broke my heart bc im usually able to connect dots extremely intuitively to a level.. abd she just did not fit the mold except to further stigmatize that “bpd women are insane. Period”.. which.. hurts of course.
Something i’ve always said jokingly is that BPD is like the SIDS of mentalhealth.. bc theres SO MUCH in community differences.. but we all just have diff levels of like 10 disorders. So kinda like SIDS.. i joke how a psychiatrist would look at us and just go “ok.. you got a whole mess going on.. ::BPD STAMP::”.. so to hear you affirm that, yes, there can be two people with diagnosed BPD with only one quality in common is SEVERLY true. This is inaccurate given Amber Heard has a unique mental health status. Many people met their partner and hope nothing changes but that’s not life most people have goals, grow and change.
Not possible in life. People must change but change together for the better.
Without the tapes, Curry's testimony could easily have been canceled out of the equationn by the jury (viewed as just another highly paid expert witness).
But, those tapes alone are the megaphone that shows the lengths that Amber will go to in order to be the center of attention. The #1 obvious behavior to get and maintain that center of attention is to show/prove how others are "obviously" her persecutor. It's why she made the tapes. "This will prove just how persecuted I am." - As she guides the other person into using words or behaviors as defensive measures that she perceives them as being offensive.
She has manipulation abilities down to an out-and-out perfection skill. She's surgical. And anyone who is blindly in love with her like Johnny was wouldn't be able to pick this up. It took having the tip of Johnny's finger to be crushed for him to snap out of it. Narcissists take absolute pleasure in being able to successfully push another's buttons. By successful, I mean their victim actually begins to agree with the narcissist that they are inept, disloyal and the cause of the narcissist's problems in life.

Just one note here - Dr Curry mentioned review of AH’s therapy and MH notes. I believe AH was already dx with BPD, hence JD’s attorneys anticipating what she may find. IMO, AH’s lawyer tried to discredit Dr Curry with nonsense, making her look all the more credible. Additionally, I worked as a MH social worker for over a decade. I worked with many clients who had a Dx of BPD without a Dx of PTSD. Here, it was noted that AH also had a history of depression and anxiety, and some post traumatic symptoms.
Thanks for pointing that out. I honestly thought it was gross to try to dIscredit someone with her experience and education by implying she went on a date with depp. I don’t think a man would have had that weird undertone.

@@lilij1915 like I said - it’s my belief. But we know that Dr Curry had access to prior MH documentation, bc she discussed reading a note about Amber slapping her friend Rocky, and the therapeutic techniques she was working on to deal with her flashes of anger like she had in that situation.
I had a friend who was diagnosed with BPD. I really wanted to be her friend. However, her personality disorder made it so exhausting and draining for me.
I recall her going into a very angry rage when a certain person who she didn’t even know personally would not leave her partner after he cheated on them. I just couldn’t understand it. Where was this coming from? She would frequently overdose or take too many pills and drink beer with it. She would get a cab to ER and just say she was there for observation while the drugs went thorough the system. Yes she was a frequent flyer at local Emergency departments.
She kept missing so much work she was encouraged to retire young which she did. All through this she had psychiatrists and a good family doctor.
It was effecting my mental health especially the overdoses and self harm.I had to discontinue the friendship. I wished her well. It was more than I could deal with.
Around ten years later her mother called me and told me she had died. Apparently, she died in her sleep. According to the LE that found her in her apartment there was no evidence of pills or booze around. She died of natural causes.
Well at least she is at peace now. It’s sad that she was in such misery most days.
While dialectical behaviour therapy has proven to have success in people with BPD there are not that many therapists trained in this field currently.
I feel my former friend was born with a brain that was susceptible to these conditions. Her other siblings appeared normal to me. Some people are given a terrible cross to bear in this life. There are no easy solutions for these conditions, in my opinion. Sad but true.
A great many professionals are trained in DBT. Trauma based treatments are more accessible than ever.
You know, I've known people with borderline symptoms and people with dementia and I see them doing some of the same things. It makes me wonder if there is some sort of brain damage or neurological difference involved in borderline. People with dementia will also lack insight, have rage, externalise blame, have delusions and appear to make things up which is called confabulation. When the brain lacks memories for an event it will make up what happened and the person is completely convinced that this is the truth.
I'm sorry your friend died. I suppose regular overdosing would have taken its toll on her body.
As someone with BPD I truly hope that your friend can finally rest and hopefully finds some form of peace.
the stigma associated with BPD and Cluster B PD's are really saddening, they really do make it seem as though these people are inherently evil. But sadly, the effects on loved ones and those close with many who meet criteria for BPD suffer tremendous abuse.

It's called common sense. Observe the woman, her interviews, add up the lies and her obsessiveness to have JD destroyed, even as it is costing her her own career. It's kinda sad in one sense that someone can be so mentally ill as to go about their own destruction on the road to revenge, and on the other hand as said, as said -common sense applied with seeing and hearing all those things combined , i personally don't even care what the actual or more or less factual diagnosis is between specialists that don't support each other analysis and diagnoses or methods of testing, i can see for myself that the woman is not well at all, and that JD went though a continuous hell with her. And it continues to this day. I went through my hell with my x, a narc ( or whatever the heck someone would have diagnosed him with having, i don't care - being from hell, for me) for over 20 years due to having a child with him, its a systematic HUNT for this kind, the only thing that matters is to destroy someones life by whatever means necessary. Cheers to you for having survived and thrived. Its the only pleasure one can draw from having lived through hell.

I had to take the MMPI when I was a teenager, and I was simply told that I lied on it and was sent away without further discussion. I didn't lie though. I was suicidal, depressed, and very emotional, and I wanted help out of the pit I was in. It was such a waste of several hours.

Pretty much what happened to me, but I had a sympathetic therapist who knew I wasn't lying on the test.
I did want to meet the person who answered "No" to "Do you believe in God?" and "Yes" to "Do you believe God is talking to you?" That struck me as two odd questions to have on the same test.

I have taken the MMPI and it was extremely helpful in understanding many things about myself and how I react and deal with things. I didn't come out to have the very serious problems Amber had but rather made me aware that my thoughts that I was handling my traumas well ànd it was my 3 brothers that were the only ones that suffered only. He helped me understand how I am highly protectove of my loved ones. That I am effected that they wrre terminally ill and I was not, so I refused to accept how it did have a great effect on me and my reactions and more. I learned my weaknesses was my loved ones. Though I perceived myself as fine and even handed with all. But he showed how it is my Achilles heel. He taught me to work on this. The MMPI is a very important tool at getting to the truth.
I thought this psychologist was a hired gun, whose purpose was to discredit Amber. I'm sure Johnny with his millions and fame hired her to do just that.
AHs declared on record that Mr. Depps alleged treatment of her caused PTSD. Therefore, a ptsd expert (as Dr. Curry is, as per her impressive curriculum) was granted to Depps side by the court. That is why she focused specifically on PTSD, ultimately refuting the validity of Heards claim.
she's the kind that believes ptsd can only be caused by life or death events like war, being held hostage, suffering a serious incident.
Certainly not familiar with CPTSD.
Amber could have PTSD from a previous trauma thats why she could score so high and the relationship might have triggered her PTSD symptoms. But curry said she doesn't have PTSD.
@@redleeks6253 She mentioned CPTSD, actually, in her testimony. Even acknowledged AH might have childhood trauma, which might explain some of the scores. But clearly she didn't believe AH's claim that Johnny gave her PTSD. Which is the crux of it.

This is the most important conversation that has been had on this issue. With my own mental health issues it is excruciating to watch these court proceedings and I just pray that all parties get the mental health they need
Seeing the 3 testimonies (Dr. Curry, RN Filati, and Dr. Hughes) put this into context. The RN notes indicated that Heard admitted to a history of “anxiety, eating disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder, Bipolar disorder, codependence issues, and occasional insomnia.” She also had virtually nothing in her notes about any physical injuries suffered by Heard.
On the one hand, it’s very difficult to imagine that anyone could be capable of lying or concocting stories of such extreme, pervasive abuse. But it’s even more dubious that there would be no evidence, especially when she interacted almost daily with a personal nurse. To me this suggests that she has a personality disorder associated with pathological lying (e.g. HPD)- it’s the only conclusion supported by the evidence (so far).
Certainly, if this were a criminal case there would be more than a reasonable doubt. Although Mr. Depp does not risk prison, he has lost many personal freedoms based on the unsupported accusations of one person. There needs to be a higher standard than “believe all women.”
I'm also up to date, and went back and re-listened to JD's testimony and recordings. The audio recordings of their discussions just simply don't make sense with AH's story. There's even a recording of a discussion of the Australia incident. AH's recount of events in her testimony was just absolutely heartbreaking and horrific, BUT the recorded conversation from after just does NOT compute with her description, but perfectly matches JD's AND is in line with his statements about what the cycle of they arguments were from his point of view (they disagree, she has to be right, things get heated, he tries to leave, she gets violent) and every other recording of their arguments
@@NewtScamander1 I agree. When looking at the evidence in total, the explanation that makes most sense is that she suffers from Histrionic PD. Her history is consistent with childhood neglect, so she requires a lot of attention and she’s incredibly driven to get it, even if it means lying. Its no wonder she latched on to him the way she did, her treating therapists were either too starstruck or lackadaisical to provide the support she needed, and her friends, family & advocates (forensic psych & attorneys) are enabling and exploiting her.
It’s sad really, because she’s completely committed to the lie now. In one recording you hear her say something about how she can’t take it back or she’ll lose credibility, so she sees no way to end it amicably. At this point she truly feels her survival is at risk and she’s not far from wrong. It seems the entire internet is focusing incredible hate towards her.

She may have seemed didactic about the tests because she needed to make her point firmly after enduring AH’s lawyers apparent attempts to discredit her and her repetitive questions, most of which did not seem germane to the testimony. She endured that with considerable grace.
I thought Dr Curry discredited herself by going to Johnny's place, having a meal and drinks with him while being interviewed by his attorneys. If I was on the jury I would disregard anything she said. I thought amber's attorney did a good job of discrediting her.
Plus Dr Curry's report has been entered as evidence which will be much more explanatory than her oral testimony amd will be read by the Jury.

It was a really good point that he made about the doctor saying she had BPD and HPD but no PTSD. I can’t imagine someone having BPD and having no history of trauma. I don’t think it can happen. The symptoms develop for good reason. And we have to have empathy for that person because of whatever those reasons are. Even if they don’t always behave like we think they should.

Anyone with intelligence and psychological awareness could diagnose Amber with BPD without any test. Her behavior is textbook BPD in endless ways, it’s clear as day. It sounded “too perfect” because it was so accurate, reading the BPD behaviors described Ambers behavior in every way. Just because she was brought in by Depps team doesn’t make that less true.
Dr. Grande's observation's as per usual are spot on. Also, his last words .......be careful when a relationship starts out as magical as "Alice In Wonderland because (without taking the time to get to know each other) it can end up as a "Nightmare on Elm Street". Every time she takes a stand for herself it’s being used against her. This whole thing is a farce. She never stood a chance with this manipulative, controlling addict 22 years her senior.
And are we really supposed to feel sorry for this man who spent approximately 2 million dollars a month until his 650 million dollar net worth dwindled to ‘only’ 150 million dollars? Are we really supposed to believe that this full grown man, 22 years older than this young girl was incapable of taking care of himself? This is a man with years of bad behavior, a man who has acknowledged his drug use, alcohol abuse, temper, and anger, jealousy and control issues (as he’s voiced on several tapes demanding that his wife not make movies, and not fraternize with the crew and fellow actors etc.). He often accuses her of what he’s guilty of - that is he has used her, he does not love her, he abuses her. We’re asked to look at her screaming at him but that’s the ‘end’ of the story, the result of his behavior. The beginning of the story starts with this severely morally compromised man with significant drug abuse and addiction issues, who is not ‘present’ enough to connect and engage. In psychology there is a term called ‘crazy making’ behavior. We are seeing Amber’s response to Johnny Depp’s behavior. If he’s a victim here, it’s only a victim to himself and his monsters.
The tapes of Amber demonstrate a woman who loves a man who won’t give her the time of day, and abandons her and the relationship at the first sight of being held accountable. So what if she finally pushes back and sticks up for herself, its a difficult thing to do, especially in such an uneven power structure (age, status, gender). She is consistently under scrutiny, but he’s not. Why? Because he’s a movie star, or cute, or just a man? Amber can do no right in the media’s eye. She is being scrutinized for either being too emotional or not emotional enough. It’s not just men, women pick apart women and throw them under the bus at first blush. Women are dissected and crucified when they come forward like this, it’s not worth the bloodbath, which is why most don’t (even rape victims). She should be supported, and she should be believed. Her failing to press charges isn’t proof of a false report, it’s the most common behavior of an abused woman, and if anything it’s proof of her love for Depp and her fear of his reprisals. Case in point. And let’s not forget that this same trial was conducted in England, and that court found Johnny Depp guilty of abuse cut and dry, so much so that the judge would not even allow him to appeal the verdict. This trial, Johnny got his (fake) ducks in a row, and upon inspection of each person his team has introduced, it becomes clear as day, and it’s an embarrassment. He’s banking on his pirate-charm and American fan base to influence what should be grounded perception. He’s even got his bots on this channel (along with every other social media platform) flooding them with pro-Johnny anti-amber commentary. What guile.
One need only remove their movie-star glasses to see the facts as they are: A fella who’s insatiable need for attention fueled by unbridled hubris believing he can sway public sentiments based on his star status. But I say he’s more ‘pirate’ than ‘movie star’. He’s got a grotesquely disproportionate sense of entitlement and import, and is highly skilled at the art of manipulation (even with slurred speech - and did you notice that disappeared as soon as he saw the reviews that spoke to his painstaking incoherence). He’s a grown up without a job (unless you call play acting ‘work’). He doesn’t feel valuable because he has no value, because he’s way out of ethics-as is evidence by his penchant for destruction and sabotage (relationships, career, property, money, substance abuse). He needs help. He’s an admitted criminal who indulges in infantile temper tantrums and self destructive and abusive behavior. He has no internal barometer or restraints. He has admitted to self harm (all witnesses and all tapes reveal he cut off his own finger), and he has repeatedly stated that he wants to die, and I might add -kill and rape her (as he stated and read aloud in a court of law, in his many texts). He should be arrested, arraigned, and involuntarily committed. He needs to be stopped and we need to stop playing favorites. Whatever happened to ‘justice is blind’? In this case, it’s Hellen Keller.

She has a lot of trial experience even though this was her first civil case.
Regardless of the defense trying to find things to discredit her, importantly that most of her results were not impressionistic, but from quantitive analyses and therefore impartial. Based on Amber’s own responses, and would’ve come out that way no matter who administered those tests.
Dr Curry was an excellent witness. She did a great job contextualizing them, explaining them to a broad audience and answering questions.
I can't speak to her qualifications and the substance of her testimony, but I do watch a lot of trials and she was by far the most impressive expert witness I've ever seen. I don't recall a single objection to anything she said during direct, and I don't recall any under cross-examination because Depp's team clearly let her do her thing. They certainly had plenty of opportunities to object, certainly with the legal stuff Elaine was throwing at her, but they just left her to it while they giggled like schoolgirls lol.
I am not a clinical psychologist. I am a psychologist in neuroscience field. I do teach abnormal psych and clinical and counseling. I can't give a professional opinion of Amber Heard's diagnosis. However, examining the symptoms, behaviors, testimony, and hearing descriptions of the situation it did look like those patterns of behavior were consistent with other folks diagnosed as having BPD. Histrionic PD is listed in DSM-IV-TR, while borderline PD is in both DSM IV and DSM 5. DSM 5 allows ypu to use either DSM to make a diagnosis. Nice to hear the symptoms described are consistent with a diagnosis from a clinician. MMPI is an excellent tool to capture various forms of psychopathology. I think Dr. Curry'S description seemed well described and she approached it from a conscientious point of view which I appreciated. Psychopathology is real and deserves to be treated with same respect as physical ailments.
Dr Curry offered to go through every page of the test results with Heard's counsel. Counsel turned down the offer. End of story.
Dr. Curry used more than the tests for her evaluation and diagnosis. She reviewed notes from doctors and therapists, she watch video and listened to audio. One therapist had written down BPD and crossed it out, but none of her clinicians sent her for an actual diagnosis. Which surely would have better informed their approach and treatment of her. Amber herself claimed to have PTSD caused by her marriage to Johnny and that didn't seem to be based on anything but her own opinion, but left unchallenged or evaluated could give a very wrong impression. Amber did indeed admit to initiating most of the conflict and hitting Johnny, actors are also people who have personal relationships not every aspect of their lives is necessarily part of the Hollywood scene. I don't know how anyone can listen to the hours of those tapes and not wonder what is.going on with Amber and feel worried for Johnny.
Do you seriously think that someone could have been exposed to their spouse writing nasty messages on mirrors and painting on blood without getting at least some form of PTSD? I suppose, if they were an extremely mentally stable person, that wouldn’t distress them, but she’s not that type
@@hexum7 well she was the one that chopped off his finger and threw all this missiles, and she also wrote on the mirrors. I would have thought some one being violent and causing another person actual bodily harm was way worse than that person scrawling on a mirror. Just saying.
@@roseharvey2664 first of all, No one chopped off anyones finger- just the tip was severed. Secondly, there’s almost no chance she wrote on the mirrors because all the insults in them were aimed at her.
Third of all, Depp himself said to his own doctor that he cut himself- even in a text where he was raving about how horrible a person she had been that weekend. He also described himself as a monster in those texts-
Fourthly, the next day, neither knew what floor of the house his finger tip might be- they both obviously blacked out whatever happened

@@hexum7 fair enough, it was only the tip of his finger - let's face it that hardly counts. They both wrote on the mirror, she wrote in lipstick about Carly Simom(n). She admitted hurting him on the 'accidental' recording on her phone. She was taken out of Australia and protected from police action by Johnny saying he hurt himself on the doors. I do believe him and I don't know how anyone could listen to those tapes and not believe him. Good luck with your backing of Amber, no doubt she will have some fabulous stories for the jury and might even win. But she does not have the support of Murdoch in Fairfax and much more evidence has actually come to light since the UK and she is actually the defendant so it may not be what she's used to.

He clearly lies when it’s convenient for him to do so .
However, I don’t think either side has produced a smoking gun that definitely proves their case.
Did you know that a lot of the backing for Depp having been the victim comes from so-called red pilled Mens rights activists (I.e, women haters) who think that if Heard is declared the abuser , people will no longer trust the word of abused women? It’s really sick disturbing stuff
Having been married to a man diagnosed with BPD - with psychotic features - along with drug addiction and Vietnam acquired PTSD, which was later ruled out when it was determined that the ex had never been in a combat situation and was postal clerk in Vietnam well away from any conflict.... it was easy for me to agree with Dr. Curry. I agreed with her before I heard her testimony, based on listening to Amber during arguments. Of course a male version of Amber didn't do all the crying, groveling and trying to seduce things back to her way - the other person leaving, or desiring to take a time out. The violence and rage I experienced was far greater than what Mr. Depp experienced, but we also had a longer term relationship. I stopped trying to play fair, like Johnny was doing by saying we need to take a break, take a time out, separate for a bit to cool things down. This was a strategy we both agreed to through counseling and therapy. It did not ever work. Ever. So I would listen to the tirade, keep myself and children as safe as possible, wait for him to pass out or get in the shower and leave. I kept clothing and important documents in the trunk of my car just for this purpose. Since they were in counseling, I'd have to guess this was suggested to them to do as well. It is quite believable to me that Amber has some kind of personality disorder.
Had a similar marriage, thank God recognised it early and left after four years of hell. It led to his own demise and because of this, he passed away. God rest his soul. Amen.
Thanks for his service in whatever capacity during war time. PTSD could be there even if he watched others be hurt or be traumatized. Just saying. I dont like to see any veterans service in any capacity minimized.
Sadly, although people with BPD can improve with dialectical therapy or CBT, they can’t if they don’t admit they have an addiction to anger, to control, to victimhood; these are all maladaptive coping strategies which CAN be changed. BPD isn’t a life sentence like bi-polar (unless there individual is deeply entrenched like Amber obviously is), and it is frustrating that many therapists don’t want to touch it, because it can be worked through, like any addiction.

Through our counseling process, headmitted he was exaggerating. Trying to get VA benefits he was not entitled to, and to upgrade his dishonorable discharge. It was upgraded to undesirable. He was full of shit, targeted me because my heart for the military. He played us all. Just sayin'

My GF has bpd, but she is far from this lier, manipulative, evil person that most of those analysis out there try to portray... She does have mood swings, and bad days, specially around her period when her hormones go wild, but she takes it more on herself, which is my biggest concern... It really is good to examine these cases person by person, and tell that not everyone is going to have all the caracteristics of these mental illnesses, also telling that psichology is a human science, not an exact one, and as such it is full of flaws, like Dr. Grande made clear. Still, all my toughts to Depp, who did go trough a lot because of her, may them both find peace... hope she seeks treatmeant.
Not to be a dick, save yourself while u can. I know of two people who have been with someone with confirmed dx BPD. Both had terrible experiences that were hard to get out of.

Having been with a borderline I can say Heard has bpd. I know this person, I hear it and I see it. I can also say this borderline I had the displeasure of knowing did not have symptoms of PTSD but having been with them, 3 years later, I still do. Thos voice recordings gave me flashbacks and might as well have the same person. Evil, pure evil.

This person tried to stab me then begged for an a** f******* in the same 5 minute span. They attempted suicide and ended up in the hospital 3 times because I tried leaving them. The last time I was told the diagnosis was bhpd so I never went to visit . 50,000 text messages and 4000 voicemails later I was out but by that point my whole life had fallen apart and emotionally I had to shut everything down. I'm still afraid of my phone and anxiety and fear are my only emotions.

My ex-husband was diagnosed with NPD, HPD, & MDD in 1988. Now he's got a dementia diagnosis on top of all that & our kids are having to deal with him as he needs more care. I'm nearby & try to help however I can, but it can be hard to keep my thoughts to myself. He was a crappy husband & father, but we're all trying to deal as best we can.
It's hard to care for a sick person you dislike but are supposed to love. BEEN THERE.
