If they ever remake the Greek games, I want the blade to not require rage in GOW3 and to be unlockable after u beat GOW2 and GOW3. And if u haven’t beaten GOW3, have it be available if u have enough mana in GOW3 and not just rage. Hell have it sap ur health if ur desperate enough and run out of mana or rage. As if kratos is putting some of what’s left of his godly power and strength to even use it and shoot lasers
Also give it a drain ability. Maybe give the blade of Olympus its own small set of skills to unlock. And one of them is draining health and/or absorbing red orbs for a lil bit of energy to use it but u need to kill and drain a lot of enemies to swing it around or it would be too convenient

@@Dookieman1975 and if they ever decide to remake the Greek games (specifically GOW2 im talking about) i think it wuld be nice for them to add Ares' weapon to be playable at early games (before Kratos takes the BOO). Because after Kratos killed Ares and took his throne as the new God Of War, we know that he has all control over Ares' weapon (im not rlly sure if this was confirmed or not but it'll be cool playing with his weapons especially at early games bc they're dope as hell)

Thinking about it, we got like complete elements wheel for Kratos in GoW Ragnarok that represent and symbolize parts of who kratos was and is now. The first is the Fire element which is the very iconic Blade of Chaos that channel the Primordial Fire, this represent his human self dark past during the time where he was consume by the "Fire of War" itself. With the twin blades, Kratos was at his most bloodthirsty and savaged as he can be in the land of greek and in his prime too.
The second is the Ice elements, the Leviathan Axe from his second beloved wife, Faye. It represent Kratos attempt to lead a new life, leaving behind the memories of his past and learning how to control his own rage. The Axe was not a weapon that were used by another god or evil beings, but rather his own wife, Faye the Just who used it for good and now passed it good legacy onto Kratos. It also fitting since the Leviathan Axe was created as a redemption and penance from the Huldra brothers (RIP Brok. You will be miss!) who created Mjolnir, a weapon that become the symbol of destruction and slaughter. In a way, Kratos used his Axe in a new methodical way while no longer wishing to use lots of energy for the gore in his finisher, he is still ruthless in his approach to dispatch the enemies quickly and mercilessly.
The third elements is Winds which is the Draupnir Spear, it represent Kratos returning to his own root as a Spartan where he is his comfortable: nobility, discipline and justice. It is the first ever weapon that was created solely for Kratos without any ulterior motives nor taken from another. The spears fit very well for what Kratos had achieved in the future, a true leader who not only lead and win the War against Odin but is able to spear toward and became a God of Hope, one whose is beloved by many. Similar to how Blade of Olympus was made by Zeus with his own power, Draupnir final ingredient for its completion was Kratos own blood thereby making thing comes full circle.
The fourth element is Earth, it represent his own Rage. This doesn't requires much saying, his own body and terrifying godly might itself is the Earthquake itself: with every powerful haymaker giving a knockback to any opponents, create shockwaves, induce small earthquakes with his kicks. throwing huge boulder, and allows him to win any confrontations he is up against. However, since we have seen how he can explode and loose himself in his rage and gives one hell of a huge beat down, it is similar to how a big earthquake can open a chasm in the Earth and swallow everythings in it. It represent the degree of consequences that he can cause if he ever allows himself to be swallow up by it like quicksand in the desert.
Finally, the Elements of Thunder and Aether, two elements that combine into one weapon: Blade of Olympus. It represent the godly lineage of Kratos himself, from father to son in a....bloody and world ending way. It is a dangerous memory that symbolizes the betrayal and conflict between Father and Son. The divine blade that ended the Titan war by the Father who lust for power and authourity who also brings order to the world. Only to be one wielded by the Mark Warrior Son that started Olympus War in order to have his revenge for all the suffering and betrayal by his Father. Only then for the Son to relinquish its power and hope to the world at the end, thereby allowing the greek people to rebuilt. Just like how Zeus himself use it to cast Divine Reckoning and imprison the Titan at the end of the Titan, Kratos do the opposite by releasing Hope and freeing the mortal from another tyrannical god.

I really hated that they changed rage in GoW-3 and limited us to use just the blade of olympus during rage.
The rage mode in GoW-1 & GoW-2 are still the most amazing rage modes I've ever played. We should've been able to use any weapon of choice during rage in GoW-3, or if they wanted us to use only one weapon it should've been the blades of chaos/exile. 8:39

gow2 for sure, the blade was severely weaker during gow 3 because he was actively consuming his godhood reservoir, as its implied during the gow 2 novelization that he could feel and was actively experiencing the return of his godhood just by merely holding and possessing the blade, but sadly he didn’t regain his godhood instantaneously and it still took some time, hence why he remained somewhat mortal during his beginning moments of fighting zeus.
In Gow 3, The blade of olympus still contains much of his godhood reservoir, but his godhood was still returning much and being regained over time, when kratos retrieved the blade of olympus in hades after his great fall, already by that time, the blade of olympus no longer possessed its godly glow, and wouldn’t even glow or have any power within it unless kratos held it, signifying that the godly magic that was in the blade was now in kratos, which is when he regains his godly spartan rage that he had in ghost of sparta when he unlocked his full potential as a god at the end of the game. it’s only able to be used as a fuel to his rage and to fuel his godly rage within it.

Kratos didnt even remotely return his godhood and domains, and the Blade itself was said to turn him into "Still a mortal, but one with prodigeous might".
It was never implied that Kratos was actually re-gaining his godhood back from the Blade during GoW 3.
His powers are missing even tho Kratos tried to regain them, as he said himself.
Or do you think he just meant some magic attacks/gifts?
He meant his actual innate power as an God of Olympus, which is evidently gone as he doesnt wield the power of Ares anymore.

@@vlad_47 1. i see multiple statements u made that were incorrect, 1. Godhood and godly magic/powers are completely different and seperate. Godhood is the process of becoming a deity who is beyond metaphysical, above space/time and logic, which is what the olympians were casually above.
      2. it was never stated that the blade made him still a mortal, it was specifically said when kratos held the blade. “kratos experienced the return of the powers of his godhood if not the godhood itself, he REMAINED mortal, but one with prodigious might” That is a clear implication that kratos’s godhood was in fact being restored over time as he held and withkept the blade of olympus. This is not an instantaneous process, and kratos even when he had to forefilly drain his godhood into the blade, it still took extensive time. Same logic applies for regaining it.
That would be an instant retcon if the writers stated he was experiencing the return of his godhood entirely just by holding the blade, then proceed to make him mortal throughout all of gow 3, that would be a retcon, it’s clearly implicated that he regained his godhood through having the blade of olympus and there’s even more evidence

@@vlad_47 in gow: ghost of sparta, during the time kratos first became a god, he only had superhuman strength, speed and durability and the power to use magical godly weapons. At the end of the game when fighting thanatos, kratos unleashes his godly rage (spartan rage) upon thanatos and kills him. after this Athena states that he no longer is mortal nor has any connection to his mortality after awakening this godly ability.
In gow 3, when kratos retrieves the blade of olympus in hades, it has no glow, no magical essence, and looks compl rendered useless as compared to gow 2 when it flowed in power without kratos touching it.
When kratos picked up the blade, he possessed his spartan rage ability/godly rage ability, that he once had as a God, this is a full evident visual within the game that tells us that he regained his godhood from the blade of olympus over time. Cory barlog even confirmed that the spartan/godly rage ability, was made from kratos’s godhood being forced upon him without any choice on his part (athena reference to making him a god), and he seen his godhood as a disease, the side effect of this godhood (disease) was his godly rage, his once human side, having conflict with his new God side, have an eternal conflict, making him have this godly uncontrollable rage, this ability to call on godly flames, create this vibrant red aura.
cory barlog says his god essence, and his human side fuse together snd make this godly tornado of flame. Kratos was NEVER meant to be a full fledged God and Human in one body, athena made him a god and forced him without choice. This is why spartan rage sickness exists, and why he has it in gow: ghost of sparta in which he was confirmed a God, and why he has it in gow 3, and why he has it in the recent games.

@@vlad_47 here we go. This common misconception that when kratos was referring to his magical powers in greece that also meant his godhood, i don’t know why people get magical powers and godhood mixed up. There is a CLEAR distinction between godhood and godly magic in the god of war universe, kratos was able to wield poseidons rage without having his additional godhood that was given to him by athena. and so many more powers. kratos killed hades and possessed his soul, having full dominion over the souls of hades. Kratos had hermes boots, the speed of olympus, kratos had the blades of exile which he channeled his OWN godly magic into the blades to summon a legion of godly warrior shields/spears and magical arrows. Kratos as a mortal would NOT have been able to this as it’s stated when kratos first lost his godhood, he was deprived of godly magic, severely punished of thirst and hunger, and needed water/food etc. kratos shows none of these weaknesses when he possessed the blade.

@Do0mSl4yer95 gonna disagree with you there. The first hit always staggers and combo finishers interrupt attacks in progress. The parry gives enough rage to basically be a 4th weapon and doing r2 after a parry is a guarantee stagger especially since it also slows down enmies.

Valhalla only makes a sound at all when it hits the ground. It shouldnt have have been at Nr. 2 at all.
GoW 2 Blade looks better than that dead Valhalla version which doesnt even glow permanently as if its the GoW 3 version lying in the ground.
How could you put this design at Nr. 1 lol?
That it doesnt even glow permanently, is a giant oversight from the Devs and should disqualify it instantly
As for crowd control, the 3rd person system automatically puts Valhalla version on the last place lol.
Dont be so excusing for this underwhelming soft reboot all the time.

Nah, it makes sense that it doesn’t perma-glow for Old Kratos.

@@vlad_47 For one, since it’s based on his memories, the last he saw the Blade it was as dead as everything else in Greece, which he points out in a pre-DLC dialogue would render most magic dead anyway.
Another is that the Blade reflects the current Kratos, showing the absolute control he has over his power, his Rage of which this version feeds off of, only glowing with divine power when he actually uses it and even then, only a glimpse of its full power is unleashed when he wills it.

      @@aguywithgames3135 Lame excuse narrative.
As for that whole Ragnarok dialogue, it wasnt Kratos who said it but Freya.
Who is an foreign god, not even remotely capable to talk anything about Greece and its inner workings.
The Blade of Olympus was glowing just fine in Kratos hands after Zeus' death, when he threatened Athena and impaled himself.
The Blades of Chaos, a fodder weapon among the devine Greek weapons, also just continues to work.
Not to mention that in the Norse Realms the magic/power might be bound to nature and the "Earth" as she said, but in the Greek world Gaia was the Earth and her well-being didnt influence the power and magic of the world.
Not to mention that Greece is still "alive" due to Hope and rebuilding according to Tyr.

@@vlad_47 Forgot it was Freya who said that, but even then, considering that Kratos, a god of Greece for at least a decent amount of time, doesn’t correct her, it’s still plausible.
Mind you, the Blade at that point had already been imbued with Kratos’ divine powers, so it only dies when he releases it, which it actually did after he tried to sacrifice himself.
See, when you say that about the Blades of Chaos, don’t you think that maybe they’re more than just “fodder” weapons? Not like the rest of his arsenal had been made anymore special beyond being another tool for him to use.
It could be argued that the Titans in general, at least what it seems for this series, don’t really hold dominion over anything, so it makes sense their deaths mean nothing unlike the Gods.
Sure, Greece is rebuilt, but you can’t say the magic returned, it’s not the same Greece anymore, hell it could be Rome now with it’s own magical powers.
This would help make the visions of the modern world (at least how modern wars are fought) at the end of GOW1 make sense, no point in investing in destructive tech if you could have magic instead, right?
