The final rankings are all my opinion and everyone has different taste when talking magic attacks.

If you use infinite magic glitch in GOW 1 Then when you use normal attack then it will never drain and for the flash attack it will recover with 1 second it is also a great opportunity for all magics and infinite orbs
Gow1 poseidons rage is sooo good.... Gives you high combo counts that gives lots of red orb bonuses and does INSANE damage ... Its PERFECT.
Based on MrWright't testing, every press of the circle button adds 4 damage to enemies on top of the magic that has already been built.
PR is BROKEN and i love it.

Oh boy, this is gonna be a good one. 0:26 That use of the Gorgon Rage with the Rage of the Gods was really sick, pretty effective using it with Athena's Blessing, considering it is the most expensive attack of Medusa's Gaze. Maybe even being the most expensive magic in the franchise.

It IS the most expensive. Drains your entire Magic meter.
Some more notes that i forgot in the video becuz i'm an idiot:
The point at 20:27 regarding the flash is correct but i did not have the clips for it. It has the tendency to SOMETIMES add build up to an opponent that can be petrified consistently if shot right with the flash.
Let's say a Minotaur ALWAYS gets petrified with a single flash. There are instances where the positioning might be bad and instead of getting petrified with the flash, he gets build-up petrification (where the enemy slows down but doesn't totally freeze up).

Another thing i missed is showcasing how Euryale's Head trivializes the translator's Wave 3 encounter. I had the footage but forgot. Check this video out by Xristos Zimnas to see it in practice:

My favorite is GoW1, the extreme power of PR and AoH combined with the orb farm of MH make the game SO enjoyable for me but I agree that GoW2 magic is objectively better tought, more balanced. While playing GoW1 on Very Hard you can go through with only PR if you get it past level 1, it's that ridicolous but that's also why I love it, you truly feel like a God of War, the annihilator of living beings. GoW2 doesn't give me those extreme satisfying destructive vibes, maybe because I grew up with the first one.
Good in depth comparison, I’ll use each magic in each game the ways you state when I get the time to play them in the highest difficulty.

The Army of Hades Magic from GOW1 was my bread and butter, it was so busted!
Great video and in depth analysis on all the magic attacks. I think you forgot about Divine Reckoning which is also a magic under the Blades of Athena.

Fun fact:
In gow 1 when you raise the mega enemies and the circle button comes out above them the combo is cut off from the enemies because there is a grab to finish off the enemy or stun him
When you use Poseidon's magic before the circle exits or when it appears while the enemy is in the air, you can use the grab and the circle above the enemy disappears and you can make a Death Combo on him!
I made a combo on a Cerberus dog that demonstrates this mechanic
That's why Poseidon magic is in the top 3 for me so easily.
PR is built different. The damage and the area if covers is insane.

Gow 1 is a sea of mechanics and depth in gameplay Blade of Artemis alone has mechanics over other Hacken Slash games! I might make an In Depth of Tricks for him. Every day I say, man, how can this revolution in development be a game from 2005??.

Nah. No need for justifications. They are bad. There are world ending stuff that Kratos is doing in Ascension.
Combat lead was just lazy by not adding scaling to the elements and not having things work together properly.

Hilt of Skofnung in GoW Ragnarok is basically Army of Hades 2.0 and I loved it when you can used that special Relic Magic attack non-stop with the right perks.
I wonder if other similar magic attack from Greek will return to the next GoW game after Ragnarok. Only can only hope.

GoW II magic attacks are simply unmatched lol, not only do they work well and are useful but also they look soooo badass and cool
posideons rage is one of the most simple yet fun abilites every added to a game.
27:16 Especially fitting since you got the Omphalos Stone out of Cronos and he directly gave you a similar magic spell in the second main game.
Very good Video Zesty. I love watching these rankings of yours. So much Depth. But i have some questions:
1. How was Cronos Rage not included in the Top 5? (It has I frames, it stuns and neutrilizes the enemy and if you hit him you can instantly go for an OH, perfectly synced with your hit counter to unleash the Rage of the Titans and good damage.)
2.Typhons Bane is also good with all of its good uses , it has so much variety from long and even close range. + Expands it even more combined with the Petrification System. Especially the fight against the Barbarian (The charged attack shot that makes the hit counter go crazy) I dont really use it. But could have been in the Top 5 as well :)

As for the Top 5, it's all personal preference. I just love the diversity in the soul summon system.
Besides, there are so many magic attacks and a lot of them are great. You can't have a top 5 that everyone agrees on.

My absolute favourite is Poseidon's Rage It's basically the Enemy Ripper aside from the Army of Hades and I love it.

idk if it was metioned or was what you meant, but the Army of Sparta actually have an interesting mechanic to the QTE, (you said about waiting for the shields to get raised, or atleast it's what i understood) but if you press the button in an slower pace (no need to wait the shields) more arrows are shot and the magic takes much longer to finish.
btw the game with the best magic imo is God of War 1, all of them look good and are awesome to use (and stronger ofc)
and my favourite magic of all is Poseidon's Rage, it's OP, awesome, beautiful, etc.

Ascension had some pretty alright magic attacks from what I remember, But I will always favor the OG Poseidon’s rage. Though atlas quake is my second favorite, followed closely by the tornado attack from the beginning of 3 (forgot the name lmao)
Ascension's magic attacks are questionable at best.

GoW3 does have a very neat lineup of magic attacks. All varied in great ways.
zesty also posideon"s rage has I frames meaning if you cast it when you are about to get hit you wont stagger or damaged

I never used to use the gorgon heads because I felt like it a gimmick. But after playing gow2 on very hard, I use it all the time.
I used to ignore it too but for different reasons. There was a time where i wasn't so keen on strategic and efficient play, and i basically never used it becuz it wasn't 'stylish'.
I however kept acknowledging it for how good it is.
For ghost of sparta, scourge of erinys is amazing, poseidon's rage (forgot its actual name) is only useful at the start of the game or if you want invisibility frames, and horn of boreas, i never used it lol
The scourge would be the only useful one, tbh. It sucks that all the magic attacks are affected by difficulty.
The most OP magic attacks are clearly from GoW 1. All the rest of the games did fine aswell, but didnt quite match the feeling of the olympian powers like Poseidon's Rage, Zeus' Fury and ofc the most powerful magic attack in the entire series Hades Army.
Raw power goes to GoW1 any day.

Artemis Blade had power, but Barbarian Hammer + Rage of the Titans is a boss destroyer.
Not to mention the Blade of Olympus in NG+, which was so much better than in GoW 3.
man gow1 magic variety is just so good. i never cared for most magic in gow3 besides nemesis whip magic. nothing feels more badass than poseidons rage. i wish army of hades could have made a comeback for the claws in 3

Unrelated to the video: i just beat vergil on dmc3 dmd with no use of items i equipped beo and nevan quicksilver the stategy you did with the nevan helped me a lot the last time on my first dmd run i was trying to beat him for 40 minutes and i just used a gold orb and 2 full health items i thought it was impossible to beat him but after i did him 1 try with vergil on very hard (even tho vergil is broken) i got back into mission 20 and it took me 1 hour and some minutes to beat him without using any item i cant wait for the dmc 3 vergil boss stream (sorry for the whole book i wrote)

Zesty i have some constructive criticism, dude i think playing hype song after hype song in the background can get tiring on the ears, i think it would be better to do a more epic song ( for example god of war 2 atlas theme) maybe to introduce a topic and then something more chill after that (for example the underworld theme of god of war 3) maybe when you get to explaining something more in depth

Hades claw should include Army of Hades from GoW 1 for final upgrade. That's what i thought when i first played this game and got really dissapointed.

To be onest zeus lightung is doing good damage But coasts to much magic...when you have maxed you can do crayzy stuff But it's art for art having posaidon or souls...here is how they could improove souls

Also atlas quake dosen't Coast much so great setup tool But also this hitting ground thing is pretty cool
I think that you underappreachieted giw 3 magic science it gives you most of the options if gow 2 ones are so cool gow 3 is godlike even with this crappy gauntled magic

To be completely honest i played god of war 1&2 on hardest difficulty and never used medusas gaze 😂
So, I was right about Ascension's magic system: it kinds sucks. Especially Poseidon's Ice spell, I mean why did they give statues so much HP? And why force you to max out element upgrades to gain access to them? Ascension also has way less magic attacks, which sucks. It seems to me devs sacrificed mechanical depth in favor of showing off here.

Sadly, yes. They all get nerfed with difficulty and the damage is poor. There's the Scourge of Erynis in GoS but that's really it.
Charon's magic attack in CoO is also something but again, nothing to compete with the mainline games (although CoO has better magic than Ascension **as a whole**)
You didn't take ghost of sparta and chains of olympus. Yeah, SoE and HoB are the one of the best magics.
