      In your thumbnail, you indicated that your 'projected' sales on Etsy would be $4,988. However, after 30 days, you only sold two posters, even with ads running for five days. It seems you are misleading your viewers to produce a sponsored video. I must say, I am quite taken aback!

      @Potatorant Everyone says that, find a niche... ???... profit! Newsflash your AI consulting/art side hustle is not going to make you a millionaire in a few months xD you need real skills to start a business, not type in a prompt and rake in cash. People are delusional to what it takes to make money from a proper business. If you think all you need is AI to be successful then do I have a bridge to sell.
      Better use of AI would be to learn skills, build up a portfolio of work, help review your work... then get a job that pays decently. Once you are past that hurdle, build upon your skills/experience and develop business acumen and other high-value skills which you will use to help you start a business - note some of the most boring and common businesses (ie lawnmowing, garbage collecting, trades businesses etc.) make insane money, don't try and chase the next shiny new trend because the only people making money on AI ChatGPT businesses that are those who make RUclips videos on it.

      He should have sold it at a certain price for 6 months and then applied discount to be honest. Etsy should not allow discounts to be applied immediately aswell, they should require the product to be sold for 6 months before that price can be discounted against.

    Just a small nitpicky math note:
    Marking it up by 15% and then setting it to 15% off isn’t a zero sum calculation. For example, a $50.00 item +15% ($57.50) will be ~$48.88 at 15% off.

      @SuSpicious9748 Год назад +2

    This is the thing that people don't seem to comprehend when starting an Etsy shop and/or an e-commerce business in general - results don't happen overnight. If your expectation is to make quick art and sell it quickly on these shops, you might as well throw in the towel now. Like with any business, getting traffic to your site is key. You need traffic to convert to sales. Most people get discouraged after a month or two because they see little to no traffic and think it means their products aren't good enough. Which leads ro failure. If you believe in your work or what you are offering, then sticking with it, putting in the effort and continuing to learn how the business works to bring traffic to your shop, is the only way to have a successful business. I know a few people that started from scratch with their shops. On average it took them 6-8 months to start seeing steady, profitable sales. All three are about 2 or more years into their shops and doing quite well. Now they are implementing AI work into their process and things have really taken off. So it takes time. Just like any other business. No different than starting a RUclips channel. It doesn't happen overnight. If you aren't willing to invest your time, effort and money, then you won't see the results. So this was a good video for anyone getting into the space. To understand this is a marathon, not a sprint. Set your expectations, base those expectations in REALITY, research the business and put in the work. These are the keys to making things happen.

My finances and income are pretty healthy but it’s honestly so discouraging how many out there, people who need it the most, are the ones that are loosing their jobs and have not been able to keep up with new changes.. Even with the ads, its about 25c-45c a click, and you need a lot of clicks to make a sale. So with low profit items, I even find the ads are costing more than the profit on the sales they generate.

      Let me tell you something, nobody cares about that commercial bullshit. That only matters if you actually make any money at all, like real money, not 10 dollars. By that point you can just buy a sub, do you think anyone ever would be able or have any interest in you to actually go and look up exactly your discord name and then go for the trouble of looking into who you are, then applying legal charges to you because you sold an AI ART of something? That you can literally put a dot on the image and say you made changes to it. Like imagine the legal trouble someone would go to hunt down a nobody like you? That they can't by any means know who you are and if you do or not have a subscription in (WHATEVER) program u used, even if they can prove you did AI ART? And then, for the biggest offender, do you actually think MidJourney themselves would go after you Mr. Nobody?
