    Another Halloween build: A Phantom Rider, where you're gimmick is that you and your steed can go through walls, or maybe turn invisible on and off... Something like that.

    I actually made my own version of this playstyle a few fays / a couple weeks ago! While mine was also a half-orc, I actually went paladin/ bard. Take 2 levels in paladin for divine smite, the great weapon fighting style, and heavy armor, plus getting decent saves. Then you go bard the rest of the way, and take spells like sleep, hold person, hypnotic pattern, etc. That combined with GWM means if you get a paralysis or incap off. You just blow them up. Plus, you also get extra dice from one your bard subclass in exchange for your bardic insp, and you can as well, get silvery barbs to make them reroll the saves, so you just turn into a living nuke that gives people cookies and milk and says it's bed time before breaking them into 10,000 pieces

      Might I suggest Eloquence Bard as a subclass choice? It sounds like you are going to do plenty of nova damage, so the ability to bonus action reduce their saves by a d6, d8, or d10(!!!) seems pretty good for making the strategy more reliable over time. Plus it has good out-of-combat versatility over the damage option. Probably want to go back to paladin eventually for extra attack and aura to be the master of ruining saving throw balance.

    You can also take a pike which is a heavy polearm even though its a 1d10 vs the 1d12 greataxe you can take the piercer feat which lets uou reroll piering damage and add an additional damage die to crits so with half orc being able to reroll with savage attacker you can re reroll piercing damage die so you can potential keep high damage averages compared to the greataxe and the extra 1d10 from the crit i feel like can make up for the few points missing by choosing pike over greataxe

    one thinng that should be noted is effects dont stack in base dnd 5e so you cant by default cast booming blade twice and get double the effect, almost nothing like that stacks. but their DM may allow it, just a lil detail the players should be aware of before trying to double cast it, its why you cant get double advantage and turn a dissadantage into an advantage. loving the build so far tho.

    Another way you could do this build is go 6 levels Order Cleric so you can cast hold person as a bonus action a number of times per day equal to prof bonus then go 9 levels arcane trickster rogue so they have disadvantage against the save if you are hidden which is very easy to do as rogue. This gets you to level 15, for the rest to get to level 20 dealers choice, I would probably go 9 cleric 11 rogue for 5th level spells. The only downside is you don't get hold monster with this build.

    I have a version of this except I used a combination of echo knight fighter, assassin rogue, and the bugbear race to get massive amounts of damage in quick succession. It works by using echo knight to ensure we get surprise attacks every round dealing 8d6+4d8+3 with a booming blade attack. Also, if you can pick up a familiar somehow that will be amazing for advantage every round.

    • @lloydlineske2642
      @lloydlineske2642 8 месяцев назад +1

      How do you get surprise attacks every round? That feels like a DM approved thing since SURPRISED is a condition that a character may start combat with.
      Edit: Also not sure how you get advantage every round. Fly-by owl? If that's the case it only works for one attack. Just saying.

    I think I’d go with 5 bars eloquence, you get the d6 against saves and you can first cast mindsliver for a d6 and d4, and you can attack and stun lock at this point

    My paralysis build: whispers bard for hold person, hold monster, and psychic blades. Martial adept and/or battle master for quick toss. Action: cast holding spell, bonus action: throw psychic blade. Crits are rogue-like :)

  • @CivilWarMan
    @CivilWarMan 8 месяцев назад

    For my paralysis butcher build, I'd go with 9 levels of Undead Pact of the Blade Warlock, 8 levels of Oath of Conquest Paladin, and 3 levels Shadow Magic Sorcerer. For lineage, while Half-Orc does work to make crits bigger, I'd go with Fallen Aasimar since this build would use Frightened as a secondary way to control enemies and Grave Touched from Undead Warlock has a similar effect by adding an additional die of Necrotic Damage to attacks. Plus, if we want big face-melting crits against paralyzed targets, it's hard to pass up on Divine Smite.
    I'd definitely suggest Metamagic Adept for one of the feats for more Sorcery points, since I couldn't fit in a lot of Sorcerer levels to get a large enough pool from the class alone.

  • @justanotherjason2982

    My paralysis build would just be a classic Vengeance hexadin since Hold Person is an oath spell for them. Half-orc for the bonus critical damage die. After paladin 6 either rogue for sneak attack or sorcerer/bard for more spells. Maybe warlock 3 for 2 short rest level 2 spells

    Pretty sure I'd go Paladin 2 rather than Fighter 3 and 4. This opens you up to Smites. Some DMs allow that damage to be doubled in crits. That's mega damage.
    If they allow that then you should also consider a 1 level dip into Warlock. Just to add 2 extra level 1 Smites on short rests.

    • @elliotbryant3459
      @elliotbryant3459 8 месяцев назад

      only 1 slot/short rest with warlock 1. But going to paladin 3 could get you one use of harness divine power which could net you an extra 1st, 2nd or 3rd level slot [depending on your proficiency] per long rest. For increased accuracy, [when not using Harness Divinity] Devotion paladin's CD-sacred weapon with quickened spell could be good too since strength isn''t getting maximized

      @@elliotbryant3459 Good catch. 🤦 I thought it was 2 because I usually go Warlock 2 for invocations. I like picking up a free Summon Elemental for battles where you need just a little more firepower.

      Summon Undead-Putrid, it has an aura that makes creatures save to avoid poisoned condition, and any creature that is poisoned must make a save after every hit from it to avoid becoming paralyzed. Also, getting ghouls or mummy minions [via the spell Create Undead or the necromancer or oathbreaker paladin features] have effects that can paralyze

    Im just picturing a player saying "im going with a Crit Fisher Build!" And you bring this to the table and smile.
    "What you playin' Sage?"
    Smiling "Crit Fisher B. Damned" laughing. The table laughs and ya move along.
    Then when it comes together. And the actual Fisher epically fails. You roll in and massacre.
    As the table the gobbsmacked. You smile at the Fisher and again say. "Crit Fisher B. Damned." (Sip of coffee)
