Nope, got my starter emergency fund in place, then jumped on Baby Step 2, and got rid of em' in 2 1/2 years! Now on Baby Step 3 and barring any true emergencies, should have this step completed this summer! God is truly blessing you and your husband Jamie and I wish you years of happy bliss and prosperity as well!

My husband and I, who both
hold PhD.s in D.U.M.B., are finishing baby step 2 (a big, screaming baby) next
month and will have at least 10K in an emergency fund by the end of the year.
We are paying off @ 80K in student loan debt and a MOUNTAIN of debt-thousands upon thousands in credit cards, car loans and fleeces, etc. In a matter of weeks, all of this nightmare will be gone. Thank God! We get along a lot better and there’s a lighter feeling in our house as the debt is eradicated.
We have spent our entire brain-washed adulthoods living in debt and going paycheck to paycheck. We’re both DONE with miserable debt. Having a 3-6 month emergency fund is key to the success of this program. My neck muscles are just now starting to un-tense. Our goal is to pay off our mortgage in 2-3 years (while putting away 15% in retirement).
WE NEVER WILL DO DEBT AGAIN. When the mortgage is paid off, we hope to visit Nashville for a primal debt-free cathartic scream that will be record-breaking in decibels and ferocity.

I am 19 and I am going to make sure what happened to Dave Ramsey NEVER happens to me and my family. My college tuition is already being paid for and I am saving up for a starter home. My goal is to become a multi-millionaire by the time I'm in my 60's. I am also planning on investing as soon as I get a full-time job (Probably when I am 21 or 22).

Not sure if you’re aware of Dave’s mortgage guidelines, but they are as follows:
The payment should be 25% of your take home pay, and it should be no longer than 15 years, fixed rate.

Were on baby step number 2 and its taking some time because i keep messing up. Im done with messing up. Im pulling my cash and doing the envelope system since i cant keep my act together. I dont want to live like this forever. Either change it now when Im in my 20s or later when I have a family to care for and worrying constantly.

It's hard when you've found this path and are following with great results, yet those around you have no interest in bettering their finances or future. All I can do is set the example and lead if asked to do so, but folks are too busy buying coffee out every day and then complaining they can't pay their electric bill to consider it. Like Dave would say, "too broke to pay attention". It's all up to them, but it's hard when you've learned better and want better for them as well.

Yep, many of us have hit rock bottom, been homeless which was beyond my control, young mom with a toddler and we slept in my car, then upgraded and lived in a dive hotel, worked 2 jobs to get back on my feet, one job paid for the daycare, the other for my hotel, our food, diapers, public transpo to get to work. Leaving a legacy for my child, our tree ends with him as not having any children so he should have enough to live a comfortable life, maybe I won't reach millionaire status before I die but sure as heck gonna try to get as close to goal as possible.
