Amazing!
Props to you for having enough courage to turn your life around. I'm working on it too, I'm now debt free.

It made me embarrassed.
My parents always lived with no debt. They were the weirdos but I was blessed to grow up with that mentality.
Internet high five, bro! You're like me. I've never had debt.
I've had debt. Never will again. Ironic that most thought I was better off 20 years ago. Appearances are deceiving and those who worship appearances, are easily deceived.
my parents took turns buying new car every 5 years...found out later it was always paid in cash and had no debt...my first job my dad taught me the ways of saving.....best lesson i ever had.
so your parents own a house ?
@@chloev8907 yup
It makes me sick to think of all the money I have wasted in interest payments. Thank you for sharing your thoughts Dave.
Trust me, I've been there. When it's all gone, the feeling is beautiful
Sometimes i hate myself for being so stupid and making stupid decisions...
Five Cents Matter I totally agree with you. Interest on cars, mortgage. It's outrageous how much we wasted.
Wish I knew about him years ago. But doubt I would have listened. Glad I can follow now.
@@lionessnala2000 same!
Dave your class should be requirement in school system.
I don't think the establishment agrees
I teach Dave's methods to my middle schoolers (math and computer class).
Keith - Establishment, no. Educators- yes.
The establishment cares for the test score. The educator wants the child to think...
Common Core? Oh boy.
Obtaining at least basic financial skills/wisdom is a critical life skill, yet one which schools tend to completely ignore.
Every school should ensure that every child learns at least the basics. That's far more important than yet another dry reading of some classic play or novel.
$1,995 away from conquering over $100k of student loan debt 😅. Two years of extreme budgeting and buckling down on unnecessary expenses. Never borrowing money again, with the exception of a REASONABLE mortgage.
Wow very impressive. Congratulations on your achievement.
No mortgage. Just rent
Amazing
Whoot whoot 🎉
how did you pay $100k in 2 years? Can you share your budget? I am in that situation
I listen to this one about once a month just to stay motivated. Debt free since April 2019 thanks to Dave. Paid off 40k in 14 months. I’ll never go back!!!

Yeah, Dave's video's help keep me motivated.
" Would you work at the job you work at if you didn't have any payments?"
That statement literally gave me goosebumps because I am working so hard at a job I do not like to pay off debt...consumer debt. I can't live like this any longer! I have $10,000 left to pay and i am so grateful I came across Dave Ramsey and his team!
J. Boadi happy for you, you got this, punch that debt in the face and then some, let’s do this
I was in your same position and I'm almost done. You can do it think about the end game you got this! Debt free is coming so soon for you!
I'm just starting mine at 10k seems a long way off but I just paid half of one card off and feels good
You will get it done, J. Boadi
Thats exactly me...i hate my job but i have no choice because of my stupidity....
I started at 35K in debt. Making 25K. Murphy has hit me many times. I am finally on my last cc and I have paid it down over 2k in 7 months. I now owe 4451.00. It has been hard. I have learned a lot along the way. I AM NEVER DOING THIS AGAIN!!!!!!!
CAEDES ROLLER did you do anything to increase your income during this time or focus more on reducing expenses?

Amazing, glad to hear! 🤗
I'm 21 and no credit card debt!! Save almost 60percent of my income every month. You motivate me so much Dave!! Thank you!!
Keep up the good work Bryan Casa. Keep saving like that and you will never need to know what a mortgage or credit card is or to even have to worry about having a credit score for that matter.

Indeed it's never too late
$14,000 credit card debt paid off. Have $400 more dollars coming in per month without those payments and it feels great. Thank you Mr Ramsey!
It is so motivating to see the cash pile up as debt after debt disappears.
Only a car payment left. 12k left, started with 65k!

For those non religious folks out there (like myself), Dave is still a great dude to listen too. Don't ever let that deter you. =)
I agree!!!! I'm so secular and I love HIM!!!!
Agreed!
God loves you!

I left CO yesterday, but I'm still sleeping with its twin sister lol
Is she receiving alimony? 😃
Thats my bank and credit card. They brainwashed me to use the credit card for everything just to get travel points
Me too 1 year ago. I feel great.
I have a Cap one 360 checking account and savings account. No fees I’ve had them for over ten years. I’m sure they have overdraft fees but I’ve never done that. Plenty of atms to use for free. Also have a couple of their credit cards but not for much longer. 😃
I currently fit that bill. I have no debt and I am driving a 2017 Hyundai Tucson that is paid for in full. I buy whatever I want and I pay cash for it.
I am also in no debt and drive a 2016 Tuscon. Winning!
Employers hate when you walk into an interview, and your kind but you have zero debt, and they know they don't have a barrel over your head, and it pisses them off they know your not like most, desperate to get the job
That's why employers want fresh college kids. lots of debt and will work for peanuts. self teach, college is a scam and every employer is a gate keeper of that secret
Indeed, although I have a mortgage...my income producing investments easily can pay that and more. Its called financial freedom..still working on independence
Unless you're Canadian and there isn't work to choose from so you take what you can get
As an employer, I in no way check or care about the debt situation my interviewees are in. 😂 What I care about is competence and work ethic, the ability to perform autonomous of others, and a great attitude. I keep people because I treat them like people.
Needed to hear this!!
Very wise. I just took my spreadsheet and removed all of the debt from the scenario. Holy cow could I be unstoppable.
Finally 100% debt free cars credit cards mortgage etc etc since May 12th 2018 best feeling in my life 45 years old with a hundred and twenty thousand a year job life is good
That is seriously goals. Making great income and debt free? The world is yours for the taking, congrats!
Congratulations
what do u do?
Everyone should aspire to be debt free......if you don’t believe me listen to some of the callers that Dave Ramsey talks to that owe anywhere from $10,000 to almost a million. You can hear the stress and desperation in their voice.
My wife and I owe between two mortgages 310k But one is an income creating property so our goal is to have them both paid off with in 7 to 10 years. And yes it can create much stress but now that we are on a system of a debit snowball it helps to lesson the stress knowing that we are deleting our debit on an increasingly faster and faster pace. We cant wait until we can scream the debit free scream.
On a payment plan to pay off our house in less than a year and a half, at which point I'll be debt-free at age 40! Cannot wait to get there!
Currently in baby step #2. Total debt except my mortgage is $11,436.05, I’m in my second month of this second step and my debt has gone down to $7,297.74
Thank you Dave. I’ll keep you posted once I’m done with step #2
I listen to this multiple times a week and thank God I'm debt free.
My wife and I just paid off my truck and her car, over $30,000 for both of them. Never again will we get a loan to purchase a vehicle.
We love your videos Dave, thank you for the motivation you give us and all the rest of the viewer comments!
I still watch this rant till this day. I can still feel the nostalgia as this rant got me out of debt. Thank you uncle Dave
So much truth in these 9 and a half minutes.
I recently start watching Dave's videos and started following him. I paid off a credit card last year then cancelled it and I was contemplating if I should go into my bank account to pay off all my student loan debt but wanted to just let minimum payment payout because I wanted to have money in my bank account still. After watching Dave's videos and starting to realize that I was being STUPID because by letting the interest grow I am pretty much doubling my student load payments. I decided to pay off everything and even though I am starting to build my money from scratch again I am glad to say that as of yesterday, I AM NO LONGER IN DEBT AND DEBT FREE. One goal accomplished now it's time to build wealth freely and without any stupid debts.
🎉🎉🎂👍👌🔥
Thank you, Dave! 6 years ago we had no future: no savings, credit card debt, owed a whole lot on our house... and we were 55 stupid years old. We turned the corn when we went to FPU. Chopped up our credit cards on the 2nd class and we have been on a monthly zero-based budget ever since. We have taken the class 3 times now and hope to facilitate it after we have our house paid off. Our future looks brighter now.
🎉🎉👌👍🔥🙏
I’m trying to figure out why people would thumbs down a person that’s trying to help them be free of debt, something that breaks up marriages, causes mental and physical health problems. I think debt has truthfully become an addiction, people know its bad for them but they can’t give it up....
This is his best rant ever.. Every one in America needs to listen to this... Dave changed my life
Wish I learn this when I was 18. Thank God I'm not in debt no more. I have no credit card or any kind the loan. Now I spent what I got.
Its Saturday morning here in Australia, nothing more motivating than waking up to a Dave Rant!!
This is what my well intentioned parents taught me:
“We don’t do art as anything more than a hobby. It’s play and nothing more. It doesn’t pay and it’s very important that we make a good living and take care of ourselves independently. It is abhorrent to be a burden to anyone else. “
“We don’t start businesses or become entrepreneurs. There is too much risk. You won’t have healthcare. You’ll probably be a failure anyway. “
“Get a college degree and work for the man. Contribute to your 401k”
“Finance your education, your house, and your vehicle. “
“You need to establish good credit. “
“It’s ok to hate your job. Everyone hates their job. Get over it.”
“Being your own boss is the most overrated thing in the world.”
Now I’m 47 and trying to get it right. Hope it’s not too late. Unfortunately there is no silver bullet to undo the mistakes of the past or to get back the years I’ve lost.
Wow. I have a similar predicament, trying to unlearn bad lessons from childhood. No, it isn't too late. Yes, the years lost can make you sad. But you can still inspire others.
I had a former coworker tell me years ago. .. "if you don't owe, than you don't have nothing (meaning car and house etc) that has stuck with me. And I know now, it's not true.
If you owe, is not yours, that means you don't have nothing.
Amen!!!! No more slavery!
Me and my wife will be debt free next month!
U commented a year ago......how's it going ??
Congratulations for next month. It will be amazing for you both.
Started at 40k a yr in a bad relationship. It ended and now 17 months later I am at 89k a year with multiple incomes. I am engaged now and she has no debt. I am 20k away from debt free. Its amazing.
Love this! How is your progress going? Amazing what getting rid of dead weight will do for every area of your life!
I was so excited paying off a credit card, paying off one of my student loans, and buying a car in cash. Yet I still have to avoid the mall, watching certain ads on TV, and hanging with spenders to stay focused. I used to post a picture of the home I want to buy on the frige. Now I have "debt free in 2020" posted. 🌹
I drive a 2003 Honda Civic and no girl will date me - although I could put them through college.
Bro, Forget Them Hoes
Don't do that
If they won't date you solely due to your car, then you've dodged bullets.
I have no debt and I have no payments.
Awesome!!!!!!
Could be a 10 year old commenting.
Meaning I wish I was 10 and listening to this
"Voluntary slavery, you signed up for it." My mind is blown, thank you good sir.
Dave is describing my life; I’ve been following him for 25 years when I lived in Nashville and beyond. Yes, the grass at my paid for home does feel great! Debt-free is awesome for my marriage and a real stress reducer.
I really wonder how many divorces were triggered in part by debt and overspending.
Can't wait till I get to NO MORTGAGE!! That is the reason why you have to work in the first place. That dang mortgage payment... It will be gone soon!
Congrats on knocking it out quick. Now it's time to invest and become a multi billionaire!
then theres property taxes. so no its not gone.
Property taxes and home insurance never go anywhere mama 👍🏾
dumb statement. taxes aren't debt and not close to what a mortgage payment is. plus they pay for your neighborhood...police....fire...emergency squad.....INTEREST is the worst payment out there.
You don't have to have insurance if you don't owe a mortgage.
Been debt free for awhile now and it’s a great feeling every day!
Great talk Dave! I’m from Croatia, salaries are sooo low that I can only pay the bills and food but I’ll try to follow your rules all the time!
Yep, when salaries are low, you definitely need to avoid debt.
This video changed my life forever, I watched it in November 2018. I just found Dave then. I felt like he was talking to me directly. I completely bought in from then. I was £20000 in debt, Now i am on baby step 3 and with 4 months of expensive in my emergency fund. I now feel i can breath, I'm so happy with my finances now, and just laugh at everyone making finical suicide. Many thanks Dave Ramsey.
i am debt free!!!
NO mortgage
no credit cards
Dave you helped me on a path where I paid off 42k in student loans in 2 years. I finished in 2017. Thank you! My wife and I are too shy to apply to do a debt free scream, but I wanted to send this your way anyway. Because you helped us kick debt to the curb, she is now a stay at home mom. Our 1 yr old replaced our student loans in our budget! Totally worth the 2 years of hamburger helper and deep sacrifices. We kept expenses for 2 people under 1k/month. Now we are able to give a child the life she deserves instead of giving it all to banks!

This was the video that made me decide to get out of debt. $48k and 18 months later, I completed that task. Sometimes I come back to this video, just to see how far I have come.

Hopefully you will now stay debt free.

After watching this video, I had the motivation to pay my mortgage and I paid in 1 year and 3 months. I am debt free, Thank You Dave. Greetings from Laredo Texas.
Recently graduated from college! With my bachelors degree! And worked two jobs! Paid for it!! I walked out debt free! Currently I have no payments and my life is good.
Thank you Dave for changing my life for the better I am completely debt-free and grateful to you and your system you came into my life about 8 years ago and I have never been the same since I love and believe everything that you are about you have changed my life for the better I've often told my mom that she made me the man I am today but I will tell you this you have made me the financial person that I am today and thank you for that I appreciate it so much I will never go back to the way I used to live I thank God each and every morning for that keep doing what you're doing keep being Who You Are and I thank God for that thank you brother
Love Dave Ramsey! I’m so glad I discovered him at my age. 21 and on Baby Step 3.
As a 23 year old college graduate, I come back to this video to remind me of my goals and to keep me motivated to follow the plan to become financially independent. Nothing will stop me from reaching those goals
UPDATE: I'm now 25 years old and paid off all of my student loan debt totalling $58,000 and am officially debt free! Took 2.5 years from getting out of college to accomplish this. My 6 month emergency fund is already funded and currently saving up for a 20% down payment on a single family home. Based on my estimates I should have the downpayment in a year and a few months if everything goes to plan and even sooner if I can get a promotion at my current employer.
I know that others read these comments for motivation for their own journey to wealth and I will continue coming back to update this comment periodically as things change! Best of luck everyone.
Congratulations!! This is so motivating as someone who also just graduated college and has a new job. I hope you're doing well!
Having no debt is the greatest feeling there is. No mortgage payments , nor car payments, I feel like I m a free man, and freedom has no price. I cherish it every single day and thank God of being in that position. It takes discipline, sacrifices and the will to succeed. If I did it anyone can. It s not a matter of luck ( I have 3 jobs, but jobs I enjoy doing ) , just pure drive and good planning. Have a vision and see what needs to be done to achieve it, one step at a time.

1000 per month put in for eight years even at 12% returns is $165,307. Nowhere close to a million. According to the Dave Ramsey investment calculator. Even going to $2000 only gets you $330,615.
My favorite video. He’s a great inspiration.
”You not going to have anything nice so you might as well have some payments”, I heard that lie before. Dave Ramsey has opened my eyes to recognize the dumb stuff surrounding me.
This is one of my dreams, Dave, and I'm working on it. Thanks to your map, I'm finding my way out so I can help others. I really want to help others.
Way to go on having a generous heart in wishing to spread this knowledge to other Rebekah! I'd would like to help others in this way too, but am not sure how to get started. Any tips?

Yes, the Black community needs to stop this. My mom loves buying things sticker price and wonders why she's always in debt owing somebody.
I make $45k with just over $17k in debt, split between one credit card and student loans.. I am determined to be debt free. My girlfriend introduced me to you, Dave. I am so thankful for her and you!
“I’ve done stupid and called it smart”
One of my favorite RUclipsrs (Louis Rossman) said in one of his videos, “you can lie to anyone, but never lie to yourself” and i feel like these two statements go hand in hand. If you lie to yourself you will never learn from your mistakes.

Knee deep in the depths of BS 2, and motivation is waning. I really needed this today. Thanks, Dave!
My Dad lived this way for year's, for some reason went to the Bank to see if he could get a loan, the creditor told him he had bad credit...He didn't understand why, since he had the money to pay for it cash....The creditor proclaimed those are the rules, he closed all his Cash Accounts, deposited them across the street with a Small local competitor and bought the Car Cash! Way to go Dad! Another great leason.
$6850 away from being debt free!
bonchidude that's a lot

@Kyle Rankin but I don't have that problem
@Kyle Rankin No debt means no credit card!
Amen brother Dave Ramsey 🙏❤
You’re a good man Dave. Thanks for the life lessons!
I started with $53k in debt and I'm down to $53k after one day doing Dave's program! The good news, my hh income is going from 75k to 95k at the end of the month from starting a new job. I also picked up some side work. This debt will be gone in no time!
Mr. Ramsey I love you man. You have reinforced and reinvigorated values in me that were taught by my parents, but largely ignored until recently. I am well on my way to being debt free, and retired with a few million (about 28 years from now). I can so clearly see my future and the future of my daughter, and how bright they will be. It motivates me every single day, and I happily work many jobs, seven days a week, because I know exactly where it will bring my family to some day. I cannot thank you enough… life is good!
I love this guy. This guy is preaching financial freedom. Been following him and his buddy hogan for 2 years now and he changed my perspective on debt and finances.
