    I just shot my G 44 today for the first time, bought it because my local pawn shop guy recommend it then when I got home after purchasing it I thought I made a mistake after reading about some horror stories about it, but I also saw that was towards the beginning of the launch of this specific pistol, most reviews I saw within the last 3 months seem to tell a different tale. That it is a very good pistol. Anyways I shot 50 rounds through it today and not one malfunction it still looks brand new and ran beautifully. Bought one at my local Bi-Mart. Waiting for the background check before they'll let me take it home. But I'm excited to give it a whirl. I'm not very experienced when it comes to firearms, and this will be the first I've owned. Figured it'd give me a fun and fairly inexpensive way to practice, and get more comfortable with firearms before moving up to a bigger caliber.

    Just got my HQL and have this on my 7 day hold. I can't wait to get it as it will be my first handgun. I have a 10/22 rifle, so I have a bunch of ammo already, and tend to shoot better quality rounds with it anyway. The gun shop said this Glock needs to be lubed when brand new, and they recommend better ammo for it. I just want a gun I can afford to take to the range a couple times a month to get proficient with, then step up to a higher caliber. Yes maybe I go to the 19.

    Definitely love my Glock 44, she doesn't like the bulk Federal ammo I have but she runs flawlessly on everything else I've tried. Was a little worried when I first bought her but I kind of like it better than the Glock 17, mostly because I can afford to shoot it and it's so much more comfortable to conceal carry with the weight. Sure most people wouldn't conceal carry a .22 but I live in one of the safest states in the country and I feel pretty confident hand to hand, of course I do carry the 17 in the cities cause there are some gangs. Another great thing about the 44 really the only thing that interested me about a 10 shot 22 is I knew someone would make larger magazines and out comes Promag with an 18 round Glock 44 magazine, to bitch slap the Taurus TX22. I bought my 44 a month ago during the panic buying period. I had 10,000 rounds of 22 ammo (no CCI) from before when I sold all my guns because my wife was a scaredy-cat. I finally convinced her we needed a shotgun and a pistol plus I wanted to use up my 22 stash. I'm 6'6" and 300 pounds of 74 year old worthless retired crap and that's the kind of decisions we make. That's also why we shouldn't run the country, but that's another issue. Unlike our President, I have MASSIVE hands and the only 22 pistol that fit was the Glock. I probably would NOT have bought it if I'd watched the RUclips reviews first because all the hot-shit gun guys think it's a toy, a worthless Glock mistake, prone to break, unable to fire an entire mag without a burp, blah, blah, blah. The fact that I paid about $75 bucks over the "street price" from before the panic set in didn't make me feel any better, either. So...now that I've fired a few thousand rounds with VERY FEW burps, maybe 2 or 3 per 300, I don't feel too stupid after all. I like the gun but maybe when I'm done shooting off my caps I'll trade up to a big-boy 9 so I don't feel embarrassed when I go to the range.

    • @TiberiousGib
      @TiberiousGib  4 года назад +2

      You win the award for longest comment of the week! There was definitely some issues with the early G44’s but those seemed to be all worked out now. Like I said in the video mine has been solid similar to yours. Thanks for watching and I agree on getting the 9mm!

    • @josh949
      @josh949 3 года назад +1

      I definitely wouldn't trade the .22 in, my Glock 44 has already paid for itself in the savings from firing .22LR instead of 9mm. Only reason I bought it when I already owned the Glock 17. No need to be embarrassed if you own both, people should be envious when you fire off 1,000 rounds for like $40 giving you much more range time so you can practice on beating Jerry Miculek's records. Lol, I'm not that good or fast, but it's fun to try.

      Jim .. ONLY 74? - I'm coming up 77 and I'd say any Glock will get the job done for you mate - including the 'two-two'. - Our NZ farmers use the .22 to slaughter cattle beasts for the freezer so I expect that it will work against burger-fed perps if held tight in large hands eh ..

    • @clutchcargo1239
      @clutchcargo1239 4 года назад +1

      The Glock 44 is my favorite .22 pistol. Actually, it's the only one I own. I handled SR22, LCP II, M&P22, but not the TX22, and I definitely like the G44 better. Based on my real world experience with this gun, I know that I made a really good decision back in January. I'd like a Browning Buckmark, or a Ruger Mk IV someday for fun. My second choice based only on feel is SR22, followed by LCP II, M&P22, and lastly the TX22 because I have never actually held one, but I know it's a Taurus, and won't live to be passed on. It will likely wear out internally, that's why I think it's so cheap. I also enjoy shooting the Ruger Wrangler. Honestly, I'd like to have one of all the .22 pistols. I like plinking.

      Michael Mueller nice. I’ve narrowed the ammo down to pretty much just CCI mini mags exclusive. Local gun store always has them in stock and since I buy so many at a time, he’s been lowering the price even with an ammo shortage. I’m thankful I bought the g44, because I can’t shoot the g19 yet. Literally no 9mm ammo around

    I had about 20 malfunctions in 200 rounds with bulk champion 36 grain I’m hoping if I use 40 grain ammo it’ll run better.

  • @Zinger3030
    @Zinger3030 2 года назад +2

    Use 40 grain CCI ammo. This gun is its own animal and doesn't do well with 36 grain Fed or Win. I have had that ammo fail with every single .22 that I have had. I love my G44. It never fails until cheap ammo comes into the mix which is fine since it is my CC gun.

      Glock does supply a brush for a reason. I keep mine pretty well cleaned and lubed. Took a few hundred rounds that had a variety of malfunctions but now it has settled down and is quite reliable even with Rem Thunderbolt.
