I’m St. Louis born and raised. People here really do eat tons of imos, toasted ravioli and gooey butter cake. Our Chinese restaurants also serve something called a St. Paul sandwich which is very popular and you can’t get it outside of St. Louis. It’s an egg foo young patty served on white bread with mayo and pickles. Sounds weird but is seriously good.

I grew up in St. Louis and never realized gooey butter cake was just a St. Louis thing. How sad for the rest of the world, because Jim isn't exaggerating, it is THAT good.
To me, this video was hilarious because I’ve given myself the “I’m not going to eat it all” speech many, many times. Then, ten minutes later, there’s an empty container...
I have the similar, “I’ll order this for later” thought. However, I never specified when “later” was...
That happens to me with Ben and Jerry’s ice cream all of the time.
I stopped eating like this last October, lost 51lb so far, and can only stay in my diet because I watch Jim NOT diet. So thank you Jim for helping me loose weight. God Bless Jim Gaffigan!

As a St. Louisan expat, I’ve realized I took all three of these for granted growing up there. Now I desperately miss them to the point I will order IMOs from the car before I get to my hotel when I visit.
As a Chicagoan, it needs to be noted: as a population, we eat more thin crust than deep dish. I feel like the national perspective is that we only pound down deep dish, but thin crust is the more commonly consumed pizza. This STL pizza looks good.
The STL style is good, but like in Chicago, there are other places that are better than the Imo's chain.
You are single-handedly propping up St. Louis’s economy - what a selfless gesture! Plus, there’s gooey butter cake.
I’m from St. Louis and he’s right on with all this. Imos is addicting and gooey butter cake if fantastic.

Provel cheese is a combination of cheddar, Swiss, and provolone cheeses. Provel has a low melting point, so it has a gooey, almost buttery texture at room temperature.

Used to be my go to in high school when I was playing hockey. I had to eat a ton and Imos pizza with toasted ravs was my go to.

I've had a porksteak and an Imo's pizza in the last 2 weeks. The porksteak was bangin. Too much cheese on the Imo's. Not bad though.

I knew Chicago, New York, and Detroit had their own styles of pizza, but I didn’t know St. Louis did.
Imo’s pizza is an acquired taste - I couldn’t stand it when I was little, but now I have to get my fix each time I’m back in the St. Louis area to visit my family. My mom and sister saw your St. Louis show in February and they loved it! Thanks to you and your family for keeping us all entertained during these uncertain times!
I'm ambivalent about it. In the world of pizzas (chicago, new york, st louis, delivery, digiorno) st louis pizza is my least favorite. But i have never failed to wolf down my share of Imos when it's placed in front of me, as in my opinion there is no such thing as unwanted pizza
As an adult im good with it but my kids HATE it and where we used to live it was the only pizza place that would deliver down our road so the kids were losing it!
Well the interesting thing is you have it as a variety every now and then but even if I lived in St Louis I would definitely not have it all the time it would be every now and then I would go probably some other place that has traditional mozzarella and dough crust not yeast

The reason it reminds you of Domino's thin crust, is that Domino's thin crust is based on Imo's, originally used the exact same crust from the same baker as Imo's, and was test marketed in St. Louis before bringing it out to the rest of the country. I don't know about now, but back then, they even had provel adjacent cheese you could put on it if you wanted to.
This is the best review of St. Louis staples ughhhh how I miss the food from my hometown! Can’t forget Red Hot Riplets the best chips ever!

While going through all of the tasty foods that haven't made their way out of St. Louis, it would have been hilarious if they plopped down a slinger after all of that.
Provel cheese is the result of a long, bitter fight between the Germans and the Italians. The Italian immigrants wanted a cheese that stretched on almost forever and the Germans wanted a cheese that stretched a tiny amount and then broke off cleanly. So they compromised by making a cheese combination that would stretch for a long time and then break off cleanly. That's the story I heard as I was growing up in Saint Louis, MO.
